Continuity and unintentional execution error

Book 1 · Discipline, tapas and the practitioner's conduct Also: Guru, disciple and the lineage, Religions, history, society and science

That is the main theme: no change — because it’s not a commercial venture, it’s a spiritual venture. Because it has been done, given by Shiva — no changes. And nobody is intelligent enough or wise enough to bring about the details.

I was asking the question because in Hatha Yoga Pradipika it is said that the wrong pranayama invites all the diseases to the body?

Guruji: They will come.

So it means someone was trying to change the proportions of pranayama?

Guruji: No, by mistake they may not be doing correctly. They are not intelligent enough to learn properly. But now who cares for intelligent people — maybe except me? They pay a certain amount — and they are intelligent enough to learn. And what is your pilgrimage when you are teaching them yoga? You are smiling all your way to the bank! What can be a better pilgrimage than that (smiling). But we have to make money anyway.

Teacher appearance and emotional exploitation

Book 2 · Guru and disciple: trust, duties, money and what a guru is Also: Religions, history, society and science, Mantra, tantra, ritual and powers

Before meeting You I was interested in tantra; so through my friends I found one teacher on FB and asked him to teach me tantra; and I start to feel the great energy from him. I ask him for some books on tantra; he said — ok, but don’t tell it to my disciples. I asked: what do you mean? He said — don’t tell my disciples because we will have good children.

Guruji: (laughing) — that is the beginning of tantra!

But he was true Guru — he was wearing orange…

Guruji: No, his make up was like that. Be careful! You can say: my Guru, who taught me Kriya yoga, gave me a very good concern: he also taught me tantra. What was it? “Be careful” tantra! Yes, we can imagine — we know so many people like that. We cannot call them holy men or yogis. And I’m happy to inform you: Sadguru is three months younger than me. Most of them — we have discussed — they are commercial people. Being commercial is not such a bad thing; but you should not exploit people’s emotions for that. There are many ways to make money. Gorakhnath has said a very great thing: a Guru should not be bald. You read in Gorakh Samhita: he is giving the physical features of the Guru. That would have been very easy for me to discuss the technical aspects of the Kriya yoga; but I’m very happy that we have covered almost every subject under the sun. Why? Because with Kriya Yoga your mind is developing, your consciousness is expanding; so many things you will become aware and you will need to discuss it. And no family member will understand what you are discussing.
