About prophets, believes and hopes of any guru

About prophets, believes and hopes of any guru

Q: There are prophets and false prophets – how do you make a difference?

A: Only a false prophet will proclaim himself a prophet. We have a saying in India: respect is commanded, you can not demand it. If your actions are respectable people will automatically respect you. You can not walk around demanding respect.

Q: People say you never made any mistakes – is it true?

A: I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. But I am not a prophet. I am only responsible for the people I have initiated. But we are not creating any new religion; we are simply following a certain discipline. This discipline will create many things in the Time. Also, when you become a part of any organization, you subconsciously accept that you will never go beyond the level of the founder, the leader of this organization. Here you are following your own life course, whatever your interests or religious beliefs are. In India we believe that if your disciple surpasses you, or your son does – it is the best achievement for any guru.

About prophets, believes and hopes of any guru

Disciples advancing beyond the teacher

Q: Do you think one of your disciples can surpass you?

A: I definitely hope so. That would be the fulfillment of hopes for any guru. I said it before and I will say it again: I do not need followers, I want people who can challenge me. By following people are creating mental barrier, they will always remain followers. It is against everything I am trying to teach. It is my goal that every disciple will surpass my achievements in anything I am trying to do – and you should go beyond my level and try to achieve more and more, and more…The path is infinite – and I would say: go on, carry on.

Guru-Disciple Relationship

Guru-Disciple Relationship

Man: What is an ideal relationship between a guru and a disciple?

S: There is a shloka in Sanskrit about a disciple and a guru. A disciple is like a son and a guru should treat him as a son. A guru is also like a son, because he also is a human being and he also needs help from time to time. A disciple should treat a guru like a son, a father, a friend and a guru. And a disciple for a guru is like a son and a friend.

Man: So when a disciple has some difficulties in his practice, he asks his guru for help?

S: Yes.

Man: And if difficulties are out of practice, should he go to his guru as well?

S: He can discuss it with his guru as a friend and together they will find a solution.

Man: What is better for a disciple: to make his own decision after listening to a guru, or to ask his guru to make a decision?

S: No, a disciple should discuss his problem with a guru and then decide on his own.

Man: So does it mean that sometimes a disciple can make a decision that differs from his guru’s advice?

S: It is possible. But then why does he ask his guru for an advice?

Man: So you think that if a guru gives an advice to his disciple, it is always a wise advice?

S: It is always for the better of a disciple, even if at that time a disciple even doesn’t understand that.

Man: Are you sure that a guru can’t make a mistake?

S: It’s not a question of making a mistake. It’s like if a child comes to a father and tells him that he was wrong. A father is always more experienced then a child. So what a child will consider as his father’s mistake will be a right thing in the future.

Guru-Disciple Relationship

Voluntary support and qualified refusal account

Man: A guru lives on the income of a disciple.

S: Yes, if a guru gives all his knowledge for free to a disciple, a disciple should decide himself how to take care of his guru.

Man: How often should a disciple give diksha to his guru and how much?

S: It’s a disciple’s decision. My guru told me: “Never ask anything from anyone”.

Man: How often do your disciples offer you all your properties?

S: Some of them have offered me their properties, but I denied it. Not many, a few, maybe 6-7 persons. It usually happens at the beginning, when a disciple becomes very emotional in his spiritual fever and he is ready to offer everything. It’s better to deny it. Maybe he will start to regret it afterwards. And if somebody says you that if you don’t accept it, he will commit a suicide, you should say: “Ok, give me a half and give to your family half of this half”. So I will accept no more than 25% of the property.

Man: Is it a real case?

S: Sometimes, yes.

Guru-Disciple Relationship

Knowledge of life outside the cremation ground

Man: You sit here, you never leave smashan. Are you aware of the life that is outside the smashan?

S: Yes, because people keep coming to the smashan and I used to live outside the smashan for almost 35 years.

Man: If you compare your disciples with the average people, what is the difference?

S: There is no comparison. The imagination, vision and point of view of most of my disciples are very developed. They understand life much deeper and they are better looking.

Guru-Disciple Relationship

Expectations, householder life and refinement

Man: Can it happen sometimes that some of your disciples are not happy about you?

S: It depends on their expectations. If they expect a miracle every second, they will be disappointed. If they think that my grace is enough for them and they should not practice, they will be disappointed. And I may not be happy with them also. Again, why he/she is unhappy? What did they want from me? I’ve seen different categories, coming and disappearing from time to time. Some people come out of curiosity. Besides, some ladies wanted to marry me and I refused, so they were unhappy. But this is a special case and I take it as a great compliment.

Man: But could you explain me once again, what is an ideal disciple?

S: Very open-minded, ambitious, and motivated in practicing yoga.

Man: And what about his or her normal life?

S: Just a normal life. But if she or he continues in progressing in consciousness level, maybe people surrounding her/him will not understand what is happening. Maybe it will be a little difficult in the beginning to communicate with normal people. Some old friends will disappear, but new friends will come.

Man: Many of your disciples, as far as I know, think that to succeed in yoga they need to decrease as much as possible their activity in normal life.

S: I keep telling them that Babaji gave this knowledge to normal family men. He has never said that they should begin to live in jungles. And I also never suggest it. But they are so influenced by different yoga instructors and so called “sanyasys”. But they are making a mistake. Yoga is for ambitious people who want to develop themselves, to realize the potential inside them and to discover their mortal substance. It is not for religious fanatics.

Man: Guruji, most of your disciples realize that to practice out of this place is much more difficult than to practice here.

S: Yes, but I used to practice outside the smashan for about 20 years. They should think about my experience and about all of the problems I went through.

Man: So their task and destiny is to practice and…

S: …they should practice in their family surroundings and visit me from time to time to discuss their practice. This practice needs refinement from time to time. It is a highly refined thing. The more you will practice, the more refined your practice will be. Ordinary people usually don’t understand it. Yoga is much deeper than just physical exercises. You need a lot of time to understand your breath.

Physiological Aspects of Samadhi

Samadhi levels, reported care and spiritual continuation

Many disciples are worried because some of them will go to samadhi while I am alive, but what will happen if I won’t be with them? Babaji is immortal. He will look after, don’t worry at all. Same worry came into my mind when my guru died but then very next year he came and I was happier. Also I think believe it in India and I believe it also that no other god comes between guru and disciples. That relationship once born. Neither god nor devil will interfere in their relationships.

I have already committed myself twice. When I first came here I was not aware of this fact before. A person died here. This is what is written in our books so when I came here after sometime I begin to notice certain spirits. They were sitting, somewhere meditating, and somewhere chanting mantras they received from guru. They are still some spirits continuing there practice. And they are very high because you see on the other side, you don’t drink water, you don’t eat food, you don’t need bathroom, you don’t need anything so his mental state will continue for hundreds of years and uninterrupted you can continue the practice and the certain feeling of bliss. They were very blissful. Even you see my lawyer who comes every morning. His uncle also chanted a certain mantra. The first I found him just beside my kund pond and he was sitting alone and practicing. This uncle is dead. But his spirit was there.

Puja

Enlarge consciousness; Shiva the first Guru; devotion out of fear

* * *

I think we have to enlarge our consciousness and rise beyond different gods and different ways to worship them. We should realize the immortal substances inside us. And every god is after that. Use your own immortality which is inside you. Be friendly with it.

* * *

Shiva is the first Guru of Yoga. So worshiping Shiva in a way is like serving your Guru.

* * *

All gods want many, many devotees so they will feel like gods. Yogis will never be devotees — except Shiva because he is the first guru and most of the yogis are devoted only to their gurus. Gods are incidental to them.

If you feel like being devoted to something or somebody you will be devoted — but in religion first you are told to fear hell, and then they show a way out. So that devotion takes birth out of fear of hell or Satan, it may not be a true devotion.

Puja

Kriya and shivaism; only Yoga, only Kriya yoga

* * *

Q: Some people practice Kriya and shivaism at the same time – does it make them closer to Shiva?

Sh: A devotee will always remain a devotee and a disciple will always be closer. And whoever are official shivaits — it is not yoga, it is just a way of worshiping Shiva from another angle.

Q: When you started seeking your path was Shiva the main focus?

Sh: Only Yoga. And only Kriya yoga. Those who are coming to me somehow can relate with Shiva easily, I am not teaching shivaism at all, I am just doing what I am doing. But because the first guru is Shiva of yoga, naturally it is connected.

Puja

A Guru needs more discipline than a disciple

* * *

I think for a Guru discipline is required more than a disciple. Because ego is a very simple thing and it can create so many problems if you are not disciplined then. A Guru needs to be more disciplined.

When you are worshipping a god and your Guru, you are going down to them. You are always aware there are higher powers looking at you.

When so many people are coming to see you and they are ready to serve you, it is very easy to think that you are almighty and you are the greatest of humans. It is a duty for a Guru to observe more spirit discipline than a disciple. Then everything goes in normal.

Relationships between a guru and a disciple

Relationships between a guru and a disciple

Q: What are the duties of a disciple in relationships between a guru and a disciple? In the literature it is described that every word of the guru must be obeyed: if he says to jump from a mountain, a disciple has to jump without any doubt — which is may be it is difficult to comprehend with the western mind. What are the duties?

A: The main basis of relationship is that you have to practice whatever your guru teaches, to follow his instructions exactly and practice it with utmost sincerity- that is the principle. And if you are not paying enough respect or guru is not commanding enough respect that means you will not respect his teachings also. Respect your guru, love your guru, follow whatever he is teaching you. He has been through most of the experiences that’s why he is a guru.

Yoga Teaching

Who he teaches and whom he helps

Guruji: I teach yoga. People study yoga and come to me if they have any problems. I’m glad to show them the right way. I’m happy to help them. I help only those disciples, who are really interested in investigation. I can’t help everybody, it’s just impossible.

Guru is the opposite of a limitation of freedom

Disciple: Do you think Guru is a limitation of your freedom as well?

Guru teaches by example — yoga is practice, not theory

A guru is here to teach by his own example. If the guru’s example is not good enough, his disciples will not be able to reach anything. Yoga is based on a practice, not on a theory.

The Path to Discipleship

The Path to Discipleship

Yogiraj Shailendra Sharma, a spiritual teacher in India, explains how he chooses his disciples. He accepts anyone who approaches him with sincere questions and a genuine desire to learn. In Indian culture, it is believed that a guru’s greatest reward is when their disciples progress further than they have. This is because a guru’s success depends on the training they provide to their disciples. A father will also be happiest when their son surpasses them. Shailendra clarifies that he doesn’t consider himself the only real guru, but is simply there to help and to share techniques with his disciples.

He emphasizes that he doesn’t want followers, but rather people who will journey with him. Yogiraj is not a prophet and is only responsible for those he has initiated. He and his disciples do not aim to create a new religion, but simply follow a certain discipline. He believes that a disciple should surpass their guru in everything and hopes that every disciple will do so. This, he explains, is the ultimate fulfillment of being a guru. He doesn’t want followers because they create mental barriers, and instead wants his disciples to challenge him in everything.

Yogiraj never asks his disciples to do anything for him, as he would rather have friends. He believes that disciples and gurus should be friends and share secrets. He also notes that he never says anything first, but instead waits for questions. He believes that the more someone becomes aware of something, the more different their questions will be. He never preaches, but teaches, and adjusts his answers based on the mental level of the person asking the question. He explains that the goal is to reach the person’s mental level and give an answer that they can easily understand, while also pushing their mental level so they can understand deeper meanings.

Yogiraj also comments on the common practice in India of seeking a guru or baba to remove one’s worldly problems. He acknowledges that only a few people are truly interested in spiritual advancement and mental progress. Nevertheless, he is in a good mood most of the time because many good seekers come to him as students. Being a guru, he explains, is a big responsibility, but it is also a good feeling. He is happy that many good seekers come to him for guidance.

ANANDAMAYI MA

Anandamayi Ma: seeker types, Goloka, bhakti and nested spiritual stories

ANANDAMAYI MA

in Gita they are talking about four types of Time worshippers – who deserves money…

Guruji: no, they demands money – because they want money they also pray to the supreme power – please, give us some money

and others are – who wants knowledge and who knows; to what type the majority of your disciples are dedicated?

Guruji: genuine seeker of real wisdom are much less in percentage. It’s normal condition. We have the mixture of them.

and what about another two types – gyani and that who tries to achieve Samadhi?

Guruji: gyani are less and these who are really trying even less.

yogis are always trying to achieve Samadhi?

Guruji: the motive will remain supreme

I’m not understand about gyani?

Guruji: gyani means who has some experience and knows about all the books

they are not in the state of sthitapragnya or sthurabuddhi?

Guruji: no. simply by getting some information nothing forms inside.

I think they have 100% of the mind activated by birth because of genetics and previous karmas?

Guruji: I think this is just major step before the ambition begins to develop. It’s necessary step because we all need to learn and study as much as we can. That will form some idea inside you and maybe even shape your ambition. Suddenly becoming aware and without information – what you will think? Information is extremely important.

but can someone be born with 100%?

Guruji: they are extremely rare.

but its possible?

Guruji: of course.

can we call them gyani or not?

Guruji: no, you can call them siddha by birth.

and they are not described in Gita?

Guruji: no, they are except it, not a part of the general condition.

There are three types of people, which are described: one people, who lacks intellectual perception and they don’t know what to do, what not to do – so the religious ways are prescribed to them; because if they will follow any religion – they will be living a pure way of life and they will be observing some strict rules to please god – that will somehow purify their lives. That is the majority of the people. Then there are hardly 5% of people: they can think, they had their mind more developed. They begin to ask questions and they should be taught yoga. Yoga is advised for them. And there are persons – maybe one from billions – they are born siddhas, they just come down to grace the other people by their presence. They don’t need any type of education or initiation – they know by birth.

APHORISMS

Aphorisms: element bodies, kaya kalpa, rebirth, astrology and medicinal qualifications

APHORISMS

If you’re trying to be a yogi – then the guru-disciple relationship is must. If you just want to discuss – you’re welcome – we will share chay and you keep asking me questions.

…certain things, which you don’t know answer – then the question will take birth. It’s a revolutionary moment – any question finally arrive, which is important enough to be the purpose of your life. It’s a genuine question.

Quotation from Spyderman: people like to watch a hero. And what they love more than watching a hero? To see the hero’s fall. That’s the human nature. Envy and jealousy are omnipotent universal thing. It’s part of life. I have nothing against it.

…quantity of human beings, who achieve that level of liberation and now they are in a situation to decide what to do?

Guruji: actually they don’t even realize to where they’re evolving. It’s a very big game – and you don’t know the direction you need to evolve.

why so?

Guruji: we don’t know – it maybe the reality-show. That is the game. You’re one of the first persons, who realized the real meaning of mahavedha. Sometimes I wonder whether big mistakes were deliberately created to confuse people. It’s like a test. But many people feeling very good in that.

PURITY OF THE BODY – PURITY OF CONSCIOUSNESS

has it different effect – if the yogi quit the body through brahmarandhra or through agya?

Guruji: in the first chapter of Bhagavatam it is described: if you will go through between the eyebrows – you will become very powerful siddha and will be able to roam the creation. If you go through brahmarandhra – you will be one with the creation and you will be everywhere in the same time. It’s very-very-very big things.

if yogin holds prana by bindu between the eyebrows – dream without dreaming will come, from which he will awake quickly?

Guruji: this is the exact description of theta- waves – dream without dreaming. Twilight state in between conscious and subconscious. I think the mind is the biggest mystery.

it’s different technic – go here or there?

Guruji: just another step. It depends on how you concentrate. It’s up to you. What is fantastic thing: if you will read that chapter – it describing yoni mudra exactly to do that. That’s why it is called “a manual for Paramahamsa”. Indian religion is very mystical thing – and it’s not just religion. So much yoga and spirituality are going into it. It’s not easy thing to understand just by thinking – it’s too big.

in “Alchemical body” it is described the great contest between Gorakhnath and Allama Prabhu; it is said that Gorakhnath was in vajra body and Allama Prabhu was in ethereal body – what does it mean?

Guruji: only one element remained in his body – akash. It achieved in progress in yoga only. Diamond is the highest form of carbon and creation is carbon-based: it is beyond balancing of elements. Inside diamond there is no water element. Only pure form of carbon. To get the purity of body you need to get the very pure mind also.

in vajra body not exist not fire element, not vayu?

Guruji: nothing. Pure carbon.

it could exist the body of any element – fire for example?

Guruji: yes

when in Gita is said that fire doesn’t burn him?

Guruji: they describe the vajra body

earthly body is like pure carbon body, like a diamond?

Guruji: no, it’s like a coal – which can become a diamond. Genies are pure fire body. Some water spirits may have pure water body also.

after balancing all elements yogin doesn’t need to go through the stage of each element?

Guruji: that will come later; first we need to balance it – then we will eliminate one by one. You need to have enough time to do it also. That’s the biggest problem for us.

It is my luck that many great and very mysterious questions came my way. I think it’s big privilege. They make my own thoughts very clear by trying to answer them. When I begin practice yoga – so many questions begin to come up in my mind – and there were nobody to talk so I found the answers myself. Even that maybe training from Babaji because – you maybe noticing – I start giving answers instantly.

ART REMAINS UNCHANGEABLE, PRACTICAL ASPECTS.

Unchanged transmission, dialogue, qualified encounters and Ramana inquiry

when the yogi attains the knowledge of everything – he attains the possibility to tell it to others?

Guruji: he understand what is written in the books and has the experience of it.

and in next shloka it is said that for him it is obstacle?

Guruji: not exactly an obstacle: it is like irritation to him- because instead of merging in himself he explaining things to others. It maybe disturbance not exactly something else. Because until unless someone reaches that level what he’s trying to explain – they will not understand. But it may act as an inspiration to many – so it is a must thing. I think this is what we do.

yes, we create so much disturbances for You…

Guruji: no, it is like entertainment. initially it was disturbance – now it is entertainment. making answers my own thoughts became very clear on many things.

that is the real grace for us, thank You Guruji

Guruji: I think – when I looked back – in the life of so many different yogis – they were not discussing so much. They just wrote down their own manner, like many ancient yoga texts – and that was that. Some poems and some discussions of Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath – that’s it; otherwise they have not so many discussions as we are discussing. But it is the need of the hour. We have really touched so many deep topics, very mysterious topics – people were even not aware of them. I think it is my luck also. Questions came my way and I’m able to say something to it.

but I think it must be consequences of such discussions and records?

Guruji: there has to be reason for this. Most of the things were recorded in monarchy time; and what we discussed and what was recorded – it is in democracy time: it looks like the new world system to me, maybe it will go a long way. All those discussions were recorded like an inspiration for future generations. In every generation there always be some seekers; maybe this work is only for them. In Delhi it is a monument for the soldiers and the very classis statement is there: when you go home, tell them: we gave our today for your tomorrow. Maybe this is what we’re doing.

CONCEPTS OF CAUSAL AND ASTRAL

Causal/astral senses, Earth-transformation analogy, individual awareness and relationship types

what is the perfect model of the relationship between Guru and disciple?

Guruji: I’ve said it before – and I’ll explain it again: in our books the relationship between Guru and disciple – it described 4 types.

Guru is Guru and disciple is running for him;

Guru is your friend – disciple is the friend of the Guru: only friends share secrets – so they are friends also;

a disciple is like a son and Guru is like a father;

then Guru is also human being, he may facing some problem – as he is like a son for the disciple, because he’s also a human being.

These 4 types of relationship is described between the Guru and disciple.

K: The spirits of the disciples of your guru also came here; how did that happen?

G: When I was declared the guru (when my guru was alive I was not aware of this thing), suddenly after he departed, all these spirits came into contact. It is the guru’s duty to take care of his disciple, even after he is gone. So more than 16,000 spirits were following me. I felt their presence, and they were driving me to find a place. We went everywhere, and finally this place was found, which can be the best place for a spiritual development. Since then they are there. That’s why I don’t like to take in too many disciples, because you have to be continuously responsible for their well-being…

So the place looks empty but it is not empty at all.

And Shiva puja is always the same. You see, whether there are 100 people or one person attending it, the procedure remains the same. No change. Except on Shiva Ratri (more milk).

But the spirits are always there. Attending it regularly.

PARAMPARA PROTECTION REALISATION

Once the lineage has accepted you – you are no longer an ordinary person. Have more confidence in yourself – and in the Gurus.

do they experience something just before death?

Guruji: they will know exactly when they are going to depart from this world and who will be waiting on the other side for them. Lineage doesn’t mean that it will support you only in this life: the Guru’s support extends beyond this world.

All social behaviour is just a reaction to a certain situation. When you begin to see – it is all reaction upon reaction upon reaction – and you stop reacting; then you realize the head, from where the reaction started.

Parampara will not abandon you when you need help or something: help will always be provided. This life – or afterlife. Not only in practice – in any emergency situation you will receive help. This world or other world.

what is final realization?

Guruji: when your spirit is not possessing you. It can be called kaivalya or the final liberation also. And I think, liberation from the very mundane point of view: when you are beyond all your problems; nobody is bothering you: that is as good as liberation while you are living here, in this world.

when we are out of Govardhan – all these problems are attacking with double force.

Guruji: think positively: your problems are your true supporters! They will always remain with you! (laughing) They will never leave you alone. But – that’s how we learn: it’s a learning process.

it doesn’t mean that with a certain level of development all of us become the same? Because all of us have very different peculiarities; so maybe we should reach a certain standard?

Guruji: no, you will always retain your individuality – but with a very great level of understanding: that may be the same quality. Physical appearance may become similar after a certain level. This I’m noticing. I think if I lose 3–4 more inches from my middle – I will start to resemble him 90%.

You analyse what you have eaten in the last 36 hours; and if the day and the breath are very good – analyse what you have eaten; so repeat that food more and avoid the bad food. You have to find it out yourself.

Devotion, motives and the search for wisdom

Devotion, motives and the search for wisdom

in Gita they are talking about four types of Time worshippers – who deserves money…

Different dispositions and the born-siddha exception

but can someone be born with 100%?

ROMANTIC KARMA

we’re taking Your energy here?

Guruji: no, nobody taking my energy.

we’re coming, asking different questions?

Guruji: you’re welcome, no problem.

if someone stops to practice?

Guruji: remember, all my disciples are not my customers. I feel a little bit sad – that’s it. When a customer is going away – it’s a tragedy for a businessman. My teachings are for free. And how you take care of your Guru – it’s your problem, not mine.

can You see if the person is not practicing?

Guruji: very easily.

I will tell you the real story: a man come to me, he was living on some Caribbean island. One woman, older than him on 20 years, was after him: you should marry me because Guru has said that I must married you. He was so much frighten – marry babushka – and found out the way: he just came to the policeman, punched him – he take him immediately to prison for three months. She has to leave the island – so police save him.

About saints

GURUJI ABOUT SAINTS

are You the saint?

Guruji: no, I’m not saint. I’m a simple man.

but we think You’re a saint.

Guruji: ok( smiling)maybe one day you will become a saint. I’ve never seen a saint with dogs.

I also never see the Guru who is training. Once I’ve read the words of Paramahamsa Yogananda, who said that the sinner who doesn’t give up could be called the saint?

Guruji: yes, we can say about the saint this also. But I’m just a simple person. Grassroots level thing: if a person is claimed he is a saint – be sure, he’s not a saint. Only other people, who will look at him, and will see his life pattern and what is happening around him, they may say – he’s a saint, he’s a saintly person. But the person himself cannot claiming that.

And only catholic Christians has becoming saints after they are gone. But in India saint is a living person, who is living very pure life, devoted to any god which he want to please; and here we also say: true saint is who is able to talk with the god – only he can be the saint. In India we believe in that. And they are some saints in history and maybe contemporary also. India is the only country where you will see thousands of saints in the history – and they prove, that they are really saints.

GURU AND DISCIPLE

Four relationships and trust — Gorakhbodh

GURU AND DISCIPLE

I’m thinking about true relationship between Guru and disciple?

Guruji: in India we believe that relationship with the Guru of 4 types: 1. Guru and disciple – Guru is teaching you 2. Guru is also your friend – because only friends share secrets 3. Guru is like a father – like father and son; and 4. Guru is also like a son – because he is also human being, he may need your help sometimes. These 4 types of relationship make Guru-disciple relationship complete. Guru, friend, father and son. This is ancient wisdom.

I think trust is the main component?

Guruji: if there is no trust – then all these 4 relationship is not possible. That goes without saying.

you must have so much faith and trust to Guru…

Guruji: when it’s friendly thing – the trust will be there; suddenly you will not have trust – it grows with time. Friendship grows with time.

in Gorakhbodh it is said – you must give the whole life to Guru?

Guruji: that’s true. But these 4 points are very important – of Guru-disciple relationship. In Gorakhbodh they also addressing your spirit as Guru: a time will come when your spirit become a Guru and the mind will become the disciple. It’s the right thing.

GURU& DISCIPLE

Guru and disciple — respect, medium and the four relationships

GURU& DISCIPLE

When a person comes and respect a Guru – it is not the respect of particular individual. This is the respect of expression of the wisdom, which is expressing itself through some individual, like Guru and disciple. We are just medium: something else is expressing itself. Phuro mantra Ishwaro vacha!

but what’s the problem to pay respect for individual?

Guruji: no problem; if you cannot respect the individual – then you will not respect his teachings also. They complement each other. There are 4 types relationship with the Guru. It is said in India that Guru-disciple relationship of 4 types: first is like father and son or father and daughter – Guru is like a father; then Guru is like a Guru – he is teaching you, you are a student; then he is a friend also – because only friend shares a secret; and Guru is also like a son – because he is a human being, he may need help from time to time. So Guru-disciple relationship are of 4 types: father, Guru, friend and like a son. This is indian wisdom.

PROFESSIONALISM AND EXPERIENCE OF THE GURU

there is no discussion on atit shunya or atit ghat in Hatha Yoga Pradipika?

Guruji: no, it is beyond that. Shunya they discuss. It will take quite some time to observe this.

You can explain very complicated things in few words and in a way that everyone can understand – I think it’s the real mark of the professionalism and real experience?

Guruji: I’ve seen many different Kriya yoga Gurus: whatever you ask – they go back to Lahiri Mahasaya, Babaji, Yogananda and Yukteshwar Giri. You maybe noticing for 13-14 years: I’m not quoting anyone. Until unless the topic come.

One time somebody asked: what is the difference between You and Shibendu Lahiri? I said: he’s a descendant; I’m an ascendant( smiling) – that’s the difference!

I’ve never give the prepared lectures: if you will listen to his lecture for few hours – you will be in samadhi or Shunya. Then my audience is very different.

it’s the best way of communication because You make us think, ponder on something and try to achieve!

Guruji: yes, I like to do that.

Guru pranam: respect and its hand logic

in Japan they are saying that you must empty your cup to be able to respect and receive the teachings; what is the meaning of Guru pranam we do in practice?

Guruji: here it is taken only as respect. If you cannot respect someone – you will never learn anything from him. I can give a logic to it: when you’re holding your left hand with your right hand – that means you’re holding your female side with your male side. And when there is no one to hold your hand – hold it yourself. Make you more independent.

sometimes I saw even in the temple people are doing pranam with such position of the hands?

Guruji: yes, they are doing it. If you put Namaskar above your head – you’re paying respect; but if you’re prostrating with the hands stretched with open palms – you’re asking for something. Paying respect is better for us.

Parampara supports them too?

Guruji: that is a catch point here in our Parampara: this life and after life the Guru lineage will take care of you.

it is Shiva Ji, Babaji…

Guruji: and all the Gurus, yes. Shiva Ji has already appeared – so this is very thorough program.

so no other Parampara has such situation – Aghori Parmpara or Nath Parampara?

Guruji: I think in Nath Parampara – Aghori Parampara is part of it. It is there: the whole Parampara takes care.

Guruji, how this responsibility came? For example, someone declared himself as a Guru; if someone will say – “I am your disciple now” – I think it’s not enough?

technical question: it exists some self-claimed Guru?

Guruji: so many, yes.

so they have fans or followers; how it is considered that they are the real disciples and after death they will come to him? If they will just say “I am your disciple” – it’s enough?

Guruji: no, that is no bond.

so, they must make some promise or some ritual?

Guruji: no ritual: they must do the real commitment and Guru must have something to teach. That connection has to be there.

like some discipline?

Guruji: yes, to make your life better and to develop your mind.

Guru doesn’t mean he should be a yogi and a spiritual Guru: in any art a Guru is there. Without a Guru you can learn nothing.

after death they are also responsible?

Guruji: after death – no. But they are responsible for teaching his art to the best of his abilities to his disciples. And it is up to the disciples’ talent and mental frame how much, how much they are able to learn from the Guru.

Interview with Guruji

Who is a Guru — definition and vetting

NTERVIEW WITH GURUJI

WHO IS A GURU?

So his first question is linked to the book Awakener, to the introduction to the book. It says: finding a true spiritual guide is possible only when we have at least a hint of an answer to the simple yet profound question: WHO IS A GURU?

Then the question is: WHO IS A GURU?

Guruji: The Guru is the one who has achieved enough—let’s say, experience and mastery—in the art of Yoga. I mean, I am talking only about Yogi Gurus. And when his Guru orders him to teach others, and he has a very senior lineage behind him, supporting him—only that person can be called a Guru!

So we know that 16 rupees changed your life, but before you found your true Guru, you came across a few fake Gurus. So how to differentiate? How to know who is a true Guru and who is not?

Guruji: One should do his homework. If you are interested in learning something, you should read everything that is available on the subject. And in Yoga, so many ancient texts are still available.

If you have a genuine interest in learning Yoga and in becoming a Yogi—you will go through them, you will search and find all the ancient texts, and you will read them. Simply through that information, you will be able to assess whether the person in front of you may be able to teach you, or if he’s just having you on.

I went through so many people who were claiming they were great Yogis—but it turned out they were not so great.

But I will say—even they taught me something: how a Guru should not be. This I learned by observing them.

So I am still thankful to them.

The practice is like the training in army: better you are practicing now – more chance to survive in future. Do hard work now and you will have better chance to survive. MERCURY ALCHEMY MAGIC IMMORTALITY (PART1)

Discipline, independent attainment, Nath story and faith dialogue

HOW LONG WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORSHIP THE FOOTPRINTS…

Q : convertion the iron into silver or gold is called dhumavedha – what is it?

Guruji : it is some kind of treatment by smoke. You don’t need to smoke together. There is a system in Ayurveda, which is called dhumavan: if you smoke different types of herbs – the essence goes directly to your blood stream. And it also cures. We have experimented on that 2-3 times.

All the great man have recorded their experiences just to inspire us: that if one human being can achieve something, if he makes the record – it may inspire the true seeker in future. Out of the compassion for the true seeker which may appear or may not appear they keep the records.

Here I would like to add one thing (hindi). Roughly it could be translated like this: how long we will continue to worship the footprints left by some great person? Let us go out to touch the horizon and start from there. That is my message.

This is my quote from “some flowers and some thorns”, it will add to the new addition. It may sound a little bit harsh and provocative, but the thing is: (first in hindi). You already know “puran” - mythological books are called puran; and the widow is also called “ran” in slang language, it’s not respectable word. So the similarity between a widow and a purana is: the hero is already gone, only legends remain. It might be a tragic thing – but only legend remains.

What's in a name?

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

why You doesn’t giving the new names to disciples?

Guruji: it doesn’t mean anything. Until unless you’re becoming a monk and leaving the worldly things behind: only then a new name is given. I have seen that many Gurus simply when you become part of their organization - they give you a name. like ISKCON people give you a name. Here we believe in Shakespeare who said : what’s there in a name? keep your name. if a new name – you are not going to forget your old name. Keep it: it’s given by your parents – it’s fine. And we are not converting you into Hinduism also. Yogis treat everybody as same.

it supposed that with the new name you’re changing the whole lifestyle…

Guruji: see, when you are embracing Christianity – the new name is given. When you are becoming a krishnaite – the new name is given. So it is just like organized thing. For yogis – a name is a name. it is only when you are actually becoming a monk – you are erasing all your past, atit ghat – only then a new name is given, otherwise no.

Guruji: if it is written in Rudra Yamala tantra, you should take it very seriously. It is very ancient authentic text.

but even some disciples are saying that they are Christians?

Guruji: we’re not religious organization and that is their free will. If they will continue to practice yoga – they will see the truth. They are not happy, not admitted – otherwise why they are interested in yoga? If they are practicing yoga – it means something shifted inside them and they are not brave enough to accept it openly.

Advice to new yoga teachers

I have been studying to become a yoga teacher in one of Moscow schools. What would be your advice to all new teachers? What is the main idea to understand and to give to people? What is the main message to people? As it is a very responsible thing, as it is not just a person practice any longer

A: The main message is that you just teach what you practice. This is the main thing. Because people can easily see whether this person is practicing himself or just giving a lecture to the class. So I’m sure you are going to be a very good teacher. And always keep them in a good mood. Because most of the yoga teachers from old time were extremely serious looking people, and their students were so much afraid of them. So establish a very good communication with your students, keep them in good humor and at the same time keep telling them very serious things about yoga. So this is how you should work.

Don’t teach them seriously! But teach them serious things happily! That’s the main formula.

Teaching doubts and faith

I studied to become a yoga teacher and taught others. But I constantly have doubts whether I can continue to do so. Everyone likes my classes, but I’m not sure. I keep getting traumas in yoga and that’s why I don’t know whether this is my way. Should I just practice yoga for myself and not teach others?

A: You should have more faith in yourself. And it is better if you continue to teach people. Actually, by teaching other people we are learning from them as well. Have faith in yourself!

About certification of a yogi

ABOUT CERTIFICATION OF A YOGI

Question: What is the real sertification for the Yogi or for the yoga teachers?

Guruji: Well, we don’t know about yoga teachers, But for the genuine Yogi the blessing and the word of his GURU more than enough certification!

If the Guru says : I am proud of You, You are a good Yogi - this is enough.

This is what I think!

Practice, distracting thoughts and dreams

Guru is everywhere: photographs, the Moscow housekeeper, Chaya, genuine questions

GURU IS EVERYWHERE

In India it is said – the Shakti of Guru or the power of Guru is everywhere. I’m sure – you have noticed, that the expression on my photographs is changing. You noticed that? Big Brother is watching you. I’ve heard many strange stories. One of my disciples in Moscow has a house and a housekeeper, who was coming for cleaning once or twice in a week. She asked him – who is that man, who is on upper floor? He replied nothing, but have an idea. Then he show her my photograph and she said – oh, that’s the man I saw. I don’t know, how to explain this.

it must be You?

Guruji: we don’t know that. That man was exactly looking like me. The power of Guru is everywhere.

could it be your Chaya?

Guruji: no, no Chaya purush is needed. Such stories – when I was seen in different places in one time – begins from 1990.

what I can do when I have the question?

Guruji: when your question is genuine – you’re definitely get enough. If it is just out of curiosity – no answer will come. if the question is really needed and very important for you – then you will get the answer.

maybe it was the ghost in Your shape?

Guruji: no, no ghost can imitate me.

PREPARATION TO KRIYA YOGA

Money and spiritual information

If somebody is asking a lot of money or something – it means he’s not giving you spiritual information, he’s simply petering the name of spirituality; I mean they don’t go together- this is what my lineage has taught me.

PREPARATION TO KRIYA YOGA

Rule: one place, no travelling, free access

And also it is my rule: as my Guru was living the same – I’m also staying in one place. Any aspiration in the whole world – they can find me because I never travelling. I don’t think I’ve ever give permission to anyone to prepare people so they can come to me and learn Kriya yoga. Anybody is absolutely free to come to me – if they are honest enough, if they are simple enough, with the open heart and with the very big dream to achieve the spirituality and brave enough to face themselves. Thank you!

QUOTE FROM CHANAKYA

Guru and parampara

GURU AND PARAMPARA

What our lineage tells us? These are priceless things – this art of yoga. You cannot put a price on that knowledge. We believe in it.

And disciples are mostly have very great devotion in their hearts, and you should respect that devotion. It is not the thing to be exploited. You should respect a person’s feeling and guide them as sincerely as you can; whatever level of their understanding and physical capacity – you should understand it and guide them accordingly, so they will progress from whatever situation they are. This is what a real Guru should do.

And a Guru cannot simply declare himself a Guru: that should be whole lineage behind him. Guru is not growing just like mushrooms are appeared.

what about the lineage?

Guruji: lineage is most important! The first Guru of yoga is Shiva. Then Matsyendranath was his first human disciple; then Shiva incarnated himself as his disciple Gorakhnath.

And through Gorakhnath it came into being and so many persons were able to learn it.

Even Swatmarama, who gave us Hatha Yoga Pradipika, gave them credit that Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath are knowing it and because of their grace I also know it. And it is my conviction, that Babaji wrote it at the name of Swatmarama: as we were discussing – it is all Kriya yoga there, so we named it “Manual of Kriya yoga”. Original yoga was there: from Nath yogis to Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

Then another thing: that Kriya yoga is a very mysterious lineage: an immortal yogi appears in 19th century and he calls a simple clerk and simple householder and makes him a spiritual giant; I think democracy started from that very day. He could call any king or a prince; but he chose to call a very humble person. The democracy begin from that day!

So: lineage is very important. Anyone can claim; so what?

And every so-called seeker should also do his homework: almost all ancient books on yoga are available – from Nath yogis to different others: read them all! That will give you much better and greater understanding of the subject.

Then, try to find a competent Guru and discuss with him: if he is aware or not aware of these things.

I myself has gone through so many “great” people who were claiming so many big things – but the moment you asked them a technical or good question, they will become angry. That was a common reaction – I think you also have seen that. And standard answer: you should meditate more, my child!

but being the disciple of Guru – is it making you the Guru yourself?

Guruji: no. Until unless Guru himself declares you: that yes, he is my successor. In the lineage there is always only one Guru. Guru after Guru after Guru. But only a person, who has only commercial interest – but not a value of the disciple; for making money he could declare himself. But, it depends – whatever you are practicing, your physical and spiritual well-being: so be very careful about it, do your homework thoroughly.

REAL GURU

Title and the money-taking gurus

REAL GURU

I hear – nowadays so many people are taking money by telling about spirituality and yoga; claiming they are gurus without any solid lineage behind them. They just start to teach on their own because they are so great and they can do anything. I will just quote one of the saint poets, Goswami Tulsidas: the Guru, who is just taking money from the disciple, but not taking their sorrow and giddy – such Guru goes to the worst of hell. And I’m beginning to believe in it, I’ve seen some cases. We have to be very careful – when you’re trying to buy the lead someone to spiritual far; first inquire – you need to be honest with your own self. If you’re not honest with your own self – then you simply cannot be honest with your own follower or your disciple. And if a Guru is not a well-wisher to a disciple – then I don’t know, what can be. If Guru is there – he will be a well-wisher to the disciple, he will guide him with absolute honesty in a best possible way. ( Yogiraj uvacha)

When you have genuine Guru – your level of confidence is high and you feel very good then.

RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility, guidance, near-death report and lexical traps

EXPERIENCE ALWAYS WINS

can we say that with the technic of Kriya yoga we prepare our body to be in tune with Guru and parampara and when we’re ready it goes like shaktipat or Guru switch on the process of Samadhi?

Guruji: it’s self achievement. Guru is teaching you, how to reach this state and it’s up to you how to reach this state.

but without Guru nothing can click?

Guruji: I think blessings play very important role here.

if someone without Guru told you the technics?

Guruji: it has never happen. Technics – what are technics? Simply by reading manual or some instructions you cannot mastering. All medical and engineering books are available in open market – but how many doctors and engineers came, reading the books? Guru’s teachings, blessings and guidance are very important.

There was a story – I don’t know, why I remember it – there was a Guru in swords teaching. He was the very great Guru and then one disciple thought, that he is much better than his Guru. So he challenged in front of the king that: I must fight my Guru.

Guru accept it, but he said - I’m going to prepare my own sword, very different sword – we will fight with that. And through some spies disciple found out that Guru is creating 5 meter long sword. Saber 5 meter long. He also prepared 5 meter long sword and when the time come four people brought the disciple’s sword and four people brought Guru’s sword.

When the fight was announced – Guru simply took out the normal sword from the scabbard and put it on his throat, and he couldn’t even brought out the 5 meter sword.

Experience always wins, usually.

RICH PEOPLE

Twilight (part 2) — the guru's patience, the gardener, the sleeping giant

TWILIGHT (PART 2)

when parents decides if child is ready they gave him education?

Guruji: because parents are worried about how their child will survive in the society, make enough money so he will be secured, have some food and shelter. They guide him.

same if the student is ready…?

Guruji: Guru introduces him into Samadhi. Without parents child is so weak and innocent – society will just hit him up. Guru’s work requires great patience. Students, disciples are always in a hurry. But we need to see exactly whether his nervous system or he is physically prepared, nervous system is strong enough to tolerate such things. Just imagine: all these high feelings which you feel more often; suppose the man who doesn’t know me just begins to feel high – he will be afraid. What happening to me, I’m feeling sick or what, might be magician doing some spell on me – you never know. Old saying: everything takes time and it evolve slowly. Like a gardener: no matter, how many buckets of water he is putting on the plant – it will give fruit in time. We must remember it.

could this prolonging being in the twilight state lead to Samadhi state?

Guruji: twilight state means you’re constantly in the dhyana state. You’re just there looking where you need to go. The sleeping giant is in front of you – you just need to wake it up, enter to his chambers. Sitting on the vehicle of dhyana your mind goes there.

Samadhi; Babaji; Telang Swami; Lahiri Mahasaya; Autobiography of the Yogi

Samadhi in other traditions; saints versus yogis; Guru and Parampara

is it possible with some other technics – like sufizm or Christianity or Buddhism or something else to achieve Samadhi?

Guruji: Buddha started as a yogi at the beginning – then he drowns up; sufizm was born when musalmans came in contact with Nath yogis in India and they also practiced pranayamas and certain technics of yoga – so in sufizm it is possible. They called Samadhi with a different name – they call it “hal”. Whatever, if there is some yoga connected –it may be a possibility.

Remember, Samadhi is a yogic achievement, so yoga is the basis to achieving Samadhi. Trans is a different thing.

can we consider the state of the saints like Samadhi state?

Guruji: it is absolutely different condition: saints are worshipping god, they are devoted to a god and they are trying to receive grace and blessing of that particular god. Only then you’re a saint; but yogis are trying to make their own spirit their friend – they’re trying to realize their own spirit, not god. The object is absolutely different.

the yogis and the saints are using the different powers?

Guruji: no, the flavor of devotion to the god - that will give them different condition, supernatural condition definitely comes – but we can not compare it with Samadhi.

You’re depending on someone else – Samadhi make you independent. That is the difference. If you take some power from some deity you have to give your soul in return. Nothing comes for free. Take your power from your own spirit.

so generally it is possible to achieve Samadhi, if that tradition – like Buddhism or sufizm took the technics from yoga?

Guruji: they are talking about it – but in reality only the glimpses of Samadhi will come. One person can start believing, that he was in deep meditation – and it was Samadhi.

But the real Samadhi I will say – whatever I’ve seen and experienced – only with very heavy regular yoga practice it will come. That yoga doesn’t mean that you always spending your life in postures: only with the very deep practice of Kriya yoga will take you to the level of Samadhi. You need a Guru and Parampara. Anyone can declare himself as a Guru – but in yoga Parampara is in respect. You’re playing with your life force – there are many dangers there.

only Guru can save you from them?

Guruji: by guiding you properly – that is the real saving. That’s why I talk very openly on most of the things. I don’t mystify or say – this is secret. I your level is good enough to hear the answer – I try to give answer.

Other Gurus in the parampara — commercial success, punishment, the liar's dying soul; translation projects

what I’m not understand – why exist other different Gurus in your parampara?

Guruji: most of them self-doing it because commercial success come to Paramahamsa Yogananda. Kriya Yoga became very famous around the world. When they see material success of Paramahamsa Yogananda – many people are inspired to be Yogi Guru.

but after death they must have some punishment?

Guruji: I’ve seen some very bad things happening with them.

Because – you see, you’re coming here with great faith, you believe; if I’m telling you lies – I will know exactly, that I’m lying to you. You may not be knowing that I’m lying to you, but I will know. With every lie I’m dying a little, my soul will die a little. Everybody, who declared himself a Guru in any lineage, not only in Kriya Yoga – devotees is coming with almost good heart and you believes in him – because he read so much about him and very much impressed – but the man himself knows, that he is a liar and with every initiation, with every lie – his soul will die a little. He cannot live with himself. This is what I feel. And I’ve never seen anyone discussing openly things – they usually repeat the same things over and over again. If they are in part of Lahiri Mahasaya - they are impressed by Lahiri Mahasaya and they continue to talk about Lahiri Mahasaya. Some people continue to talk about Babaji, some people are continue to talk about Paramahamsa Yoogananda: he said that and he did that, I am his follower and I was very close to him – something like that to impress; but inside their consciousness and their heart they know that they are not telling the truth. So it’s their problem, not ours. There is another sight to it: even a liar, if he is not a genuine person and he just lying to create an empire for himself – he also trying to teach good things. Even if he is lying he will say – remain truthful, be honest – so at least they are teaching something. More I think on it – more I understand that ours is the only yogic parampara. Try to find ancient yoga texts which are available – we will translate them, now we found good translator. Now they are started to do Siddha Siddhanta Paddhati. It’s very important text. They do simultaneously hindi and English – and I’m sure someone will translate it in Russian and we will have the very good collection. And Yoga Vishaya is the only book describing the work with different vayus – in no other book I’ve find it.

SHAILENDRA SHARMA MAKING THIS STATEMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME

Faith in guru, Bhairav offering, the irony and the Seagull

FAITH IN GURU GIVES STRENGTH TO LIVE

Some time back we discussed the offering to Bhairav: how is it better to do it?

Guruji: Anywhere. And you will notice, when you will start doing it – most of the drunkards will simply go away. We have already offered at least nearly a tonne of litres to Bhairav here in the last 25 years. Every day – it’s part of his ritual.

Is it better to do it during the day or night time?

Guruji: Night time is good. Everybody knows: the daytime and morning is too early for that( laughing )

…in the right side of your chart; from the 8th it is looking directly to the 2nd house, which is eyes. Sun’s effect is always on the eyes. My eyesight has improved a little now: I don’t need glasses anymore to see distant things. Sometimes I read without glasses: when I remember – I read without glasses, I need glasses.

I agree: the whole system regenerating very fast

Guruji: It will become even faster. I think Babaji has given something very miraculous. Most of the people, who are too much into religious imagination, so-called romantic spiritual imagination – they will miss everything, whatever is happening here. In the last 37 years now we have reached the 2000 mark: very few, not so many. And very few out of those 2000 are trying to understand what I’m trying to say: either they are too much into religious imagination or the books they read about Kundalini and other things, imagining chakras… but I’ve learned to keep quiet now.

In last years I taught myself to believe in You: because only this can give you strength to go

Guruji: That is true, because the path is not so easy and achievement is extraordinary. Mere bhakti Guru ke shakti! I’m surviving on that.

And I see the irony here: 20 years back people were not taking me very seriously, even though I’ve written 5 heavyweight books like Gita, because I was young. Now they are listening to me seriously because I’m still looking young( laughing ) when a new person comes – he is not registering about me; but in front of him some old contemporary comes – it’s a shock for me as for them as well.

I think that even small things we cannot do without Your support

Guruji: So I'm like Jonathan Seagull, who is teaching you how to fly. And any open-minded person will like it.

Guruji: if you have faith and respect for your Guru – you will respect his teachings and you will do it as good as utmost of your effort, the most excellent effort – so results will come. It’s a chain reaction! If you don’t respect your Guru – you will not respect the teachings also; so the result will be nothing.

THE REAL GURU

THE REAL GURU

Before meeting You I was interested in tantra; so through my friends I found one teacher on FB and asked him to teach me tantra; and I start to feel the great energy from him. I ask him for some books on tantra; he said — ok, but don’t tell it to my disciples. I asked: what do you mean? He said — don’t tell my disciples because we will have good children.

Guruji: (laughing) — that is the beginning of tantra!

But he was true Guru — he was wearing orange…

Guruji: No, his make up was like that. Be careful! You can say: my Guru, who taught me Kriya yoga, gave me a very good concern: he also taught me tantra. What was it? “Be careful” tantra! Yes, we can imagine — we know so many people like that. We cannot call them holy men or yogis. And I’m happy to inform you: Sadguru is three months younger than me. Most of them — we have discussed — they are commercial people. Being commercial is not such a bad thing; but you should not exploit people’s emotions for that. There are many ways to make money. Gorakhnath has said a very great thing: a Guru should not be bald. You read in Gorakh Samhita: he is giving the physical features of the Guru. That would have been very easy for me to discuss the technical aspects of the Kriya yoga; but I’m very happy that we have covered almost every subject under the sun. Why? Because with Kriya Yoga your mind is developing, your consciousness is expanding; so many things you will become aware and you will need to discuss it. And no family member will understand what you are discussing.

THOUSANDS STORYS – THOUSANDS LIFES

First Upanishad of the new world order — Gorakh bani, parampara and nine books

FIRST UPANISHAD OF NEW WORLD ORDER

Gorakhnath is saying that: if somebody is a yogi – he should not grow old; if somebody is saying he is a doctor – he should never be sick; if someone is saying “I’m an alchemist” – than he should never beg for money; if someone says “ I’m the bravest man” – than there should be no wound on his back. These are the definitions and we’re agree with them, Gorakhnath is great. It is from Gorakh bani.

to be Guru is extremely difficult?

Guruji: it is very big responsibility. That’s why I don’t make too many disciples. Not many Gurus are talking one to one. That is our parampara: one to one. If you’re not able to communicate with a student disciple – then what is the use? Nothing will happen. I think I’m trying to do my best to answer most of the queries and communicate openly. So many deep subjects we have discussed openly. That’s how nine books came.

interesting that Gorakhbodh have such a long story?

Guruji: yes, it was too much for the first person – than Katya took it. Amazing that British library lord said that is the only book on the subject. And Upanishad of Immortality is not a commentary – it is discussion, question and answer. It is not commentary, it’s straight from the heart.

We’re like in upanishadas time: Upanishad means question and answer and this is what’s happening here – question and answer. It will be the first Upanishad of the new world order. Also, as we were discussing, we must remember the fact that most of the religions, most of the so-called wisdom was recorded in the time of monarchy. These things have been recorded first time in the democratic time: this is the new situation for the world, new world order. This is very important.

But at the same time its also due to the past karma that you have come to me for discussions and to learn Kriya Yoga. Not everybody find their way here.

"Then again, not a whole lot of people stay in direct contact. There are still very few. I have also observed and I am happy to say that all those people who follow my discipline always stay fit on all levels. They don’t face as many troubles as others. The spiritual bond that forms between me and my disciples during initiation flows the energy of whatever is happening with me to them as well. This is the most amusing thing. I didn’t realize it earlier but now I can see it very clearly.

There is also a flip side to this situation. There are a lot of new people coming these days who are trying to become my disciple because they think that their financial and family problems will improve after becoming my disciple.. But I don’t entertain such people. The objective with such people is completely twisted as none of my old disciples ever came to me for becoming millionaires. They had a genuine motivation to learn yoga. But even then, their situation in life substantially improved.

"It all depends on the motive. The people who come to me with a wrong motive end up spoiling my mood, but a genuine person's life definitely improves. There is this man who came to me from Delhi - he is a disciple of mine. He was here on Shivaratri. His daughter’s finger got completely ripped off - it got stuck somewhere and she tried to pull it off which teared the ligaments and the bones came out. She had her exams after 15 days and the doctor wasn’t too hopeful of the finger ever recovering. He told this to me when he came here. I couldn’t give a lot of attention to what he said as there were a lot of people around. I was in a very spirited mood, so I just said “Don’t worry, everything will be fine”. When he took her daughter for a change of bandage, the doctor was shocked and told them that the finger was absolutely okay and it didn’t need any further bandages! The girl wrote her exam papers with her own hands and didn’t face any problem at all in writing. She has come here to visit me and I'm noticing that her finger does show some swelling but all the movements have restored. The vibrations of the discipline I follow here in the academy flow to all my disciples. Even though I've always been careful about my routines and discipline, ever since I have understood this principle, I've become extra careful. So many new discoveries are happening slowly and gradually."

I said, “I also remember that someone asked him ‘what results can I expect from this kriya,’ and he just scolded him that don’t be like a street dog who would chase after every car but wouldn’t know what to do when the car stops; just keep doing what you are told.”

Guruji said, “What is this? For a valid question a proper answer should be given.

Personal guru-disciple bond versus mass enrollment

I asked Guruji what happens to such gurus and their followers in the astral world after their death. Guruji said, “I was surprised to see a famous Bollywood actress serving the king Akbar in the astral world. That was a strange scene (laughs.) The fake gurus and their followers must have a similar fate. However, just by joining an organization and paying fee to learn does not make one a disciple. There’s no spiritual bond. In our tradition we believe a proper bond is formed between a disciple and an authentic guru which lasts beyond life and death. What’s the point of being a guru if you can’t give personal attention? It’s all about having an individual connection. 99% of my disciples don’t have to tell me their name when they call. How would you recognize a disciple in a crowd of millions?”

I have never read in history that people had millions of followers. I asked Guruji if it is an invention of our times.

Guruji said, “Yes. In old times there used to be crowds to listen to stories from scriptures. But never for spiritual discourse or teaching. In such a crowd it’s rare to find someone with real curiosity. Most people are there to pass their time.”

Who is Guru

… like a father to son. And Guru is a friend also. Because only friend share secrets. And Guru is Guru also. So these four relationships – they go together with Guru and disciple. When I was down, all my disciples came to help. And I’m also always ready for help. Not to receive – to give also.( Guru is a father, Guru is a son, Guru is a friend and Guru is Guru).

… this understanding will develop before. First understanding will develop – I’m simply giving you information. By information some understanding will develop, it will take some time, but you will begin to understand, – then real experience will follow. I don’t want to go through what I went to because it suddenly burst on me and it was almost impossible to digest it.
