Guruji – A Different Perspective

Acting not reacting, civilisations and nature

pieces. So what practical things can people do in the West to bring peace into their own lives and into the lives of others? First, I think they should be more in tune with themselves. As long as they continue to react to other people and to society in general, there is never going to be peace. So, instead of reacting, they should learn how to act in the proper way. And to act, they will need to develop some consciousness of their own, and be in tune with their own nature. Then maybe, how can this be accomplished to develop that consciousness? I would say, live with nature and practice yoga. You say the general behavior of society

is mostly reaction. Hmm. A reaction to some reaction, then again a reaction, and the original act disappears. So, learn not to react; start acting, and you will have the desired effect. Hmm. Peace. Hmm. And do you see, might there be some consequences if people don't start living in tune with Mother Earth? You see it is happening, what else is happening? Whatever is happening all over the world, it is because we are not living in tune with the Mother. Hmm. I will say another thing, just an observation. You look into the history of mankind, so many civilizations have appeared and have disappeared, from Roman civilization, Egyptian, so many things.

But notice one thing, Aborigines and villagers who live very near to nature, they always survive. Think on that. Civilizations come and they go, from Atlantis to the Roman Empire, every empire disappears. So the best thing is not to create an empire. I think, one man asked me that, "What type of youth do you envision in the future?" I said that he is just wearing a loincloth, okay, having a spade in his hand, working on his farm in the fields, but he said, and a laptop is just lying

there under the tree, or another way he is swinging in the trees like Tarzan, say I-O-R, but he is carrying a mobile and a small palmtop in his loincloth. So that means you must use high technology but always remain in tune with basic nature, then only will you survive peacefully. What do you see as being the greatest obstacle to people developing their own consciousness? We are the biggest obstacle; we have to— that is why we need to overcome ourselves only, we are the biggest obstacles. Thank you. But you know, I

Do Not Waste Your Time on Trifles

Do Not Waste Your Time on Trifles

We have a very famous movie star — Amitabh Bachchan. One day when he was giving an interview for the TV, a girl who was interviewing him, asked him a very interesting question: “Imagine that you are going somewhere and some man comes and slaps you. How will you react?” And Amitabh Bachchan answered: “I will excuse and move on.” She asked him: “But why?” “I am too busy to fight with him, my purpose of life is different. Maybe his purpose of life is fulfilled by slapping me, but if I react to this, it fulfills nothing in my life. It will be just a wastage of time and energy. So I will just say sorry and go on” – he answered.

His answer was very important to me at that time. I heard it 15-20 years ago and I absolutely agreed with him. Your attitude depends on your priorities. If you have enough time to beat that guy, do it. But if your purpose is more important – just move on, don’t waste your time on that. Just tell him: “Oh, you lifted your hand and by mistake my cheek came in your way, I am so sorry.”

Heroes lack admirers

Heroes lack admirers

A person can have enough money, a good family and a good house – but still there is something he lacks, he is not really happy with all these things. What does he need? My observation is that everybody wants to sound off and they need an audience who will listen very patiently to whatever they say. Nobody is there to listen to them – and they are not happy. It is a very important thing that you create some audience. I told them that we are all heroes of our own lives – or heroines. And we want to boast what heroic deeds we have done in our life to prove ourselves, but sadly nobody wants to listen.

How to Behave in Difficult Situations?

How to Behave in Difficult Situations?

When the situation a person is to face is difficult he should feel it. But first he should determine what he wants from life. If he thinks that situation is just a disturbance, it is not needed in his life-course – then he can avoid that. But if it is a challenge of any type – then he should face it. Why not? Because facing a certain situation as a challenge and overcoming it will make a person much more confident and he will know more about himself – how he reacts, what he would do, what his mind decides at that moment. It will make him better. Face the situation, never run away from any situation – and then you can face anyone. You will have my support on that, no matter who you are facing – face it. A person with a negative mind will be attracting more and more bad situations. And if a person has a positive mind, an open mind – not many bad situations will happen, more positive situations will come. And it will help in the progress in life. Because every situation is just a stepping stone so you can go even higher. If you are already sad – as the result negative things will happen, if you practice yoga and have a positive attitude towards the world – then more and more positive things will happen.

Self-realization

Self-realization

Question: Sometimes we make mistakes and chose the wrong decisions – how to feel it?

Guruji: If you will go deep inside your heart – deep down you will discover it. As long as you will continue react to the society different pattern – you will never discover what you really want. Only when you stop reacting to people and society. You see – most of our social behavior is reaction to something. When you will stop reacting, be still, and go deep down inside you – then you will discover, why you are here.

Question: Does it come with practice?

Guruji: Of course! Only with practice you will stop reacting, start thinking and go deep inside your consciousness, your mind – you will discover so many things about you. Self-realization is very important. It’s another simplification: ‘’ I’m not the body, I’m the spirit’’. But we need body experience.

The most important deed

The most important deed

Once upon a time there were a guru and his disciple. The Guru was very highly-estimated by the disciple for being very spiritual. The disciple was extremely devoted to him and always served his Guru. One fine day the Guru died. The disciple became very worried: “What happened to my Guru? Where is he? Is he with God?” He prayed, and prayed, and prayed. One day after several years the Guru appeared before him. He asked the Guru: “Where are you? Are you with God?” And the Guru told him: “Yes, I am”. Then the disciple asked him: “Which of your prays appealed to God?” The Guru answered: “Don’t ask me that”. But the disciple insisted and the Guru told him one story. One day he was writing a poem and a drop of ink fell on the paper. A fly came and began to drink it. A thought came into the Guru’s mind to drive it away, but then he thought: “Let it drink”. “So this was the only thing God liked in all of my life”, said the Guru.

And I believe in it, because if you begin to take care even of a fly, it means you are close to God.

English machine transcript of the video: blind faith as complete trust in a good helper, like a blind man led across the road

What is the meaning of Blind Faith / Superstition according to you? Although this blind faith is called superstition in English, which has a completely different meaning. This is my observation or understanding of Blind Faith(superstition). Trust any good person, who wants to help you, completely. How ? As a blind person is standing on the side of the road that he has to cross the road. A good man comes. Holds his hand and says come, let me help you cross the road. So he completely trusts that person and walks with him. This is what Blind Faith (superstition) is in my view. Trusting someone completely.

We are ignorant, we do not know anything. But if someone helps us at such a time, we immediately turn to him like a blind man. And walk with him. That he will help us take across the path or will take us to our destination. So we should understand Blind Faith(superstition) from this point of view and This is my point of view. You people should contemplate on the same as you yourself are scholars.

Spiritual and material, religion and spirituality

God lives in your heart. Spirit is in your body. Consciousness is inside you. So whatever you are doing, weather it is allegedly material or spiritual, that you are able to do because you have god residing in your heart and spirit has given you life So whatever be it material or spiritual, in my view, they are all spiritual God is residing in your heart. Spirit is giving you life. because of life we are conscious. These are all spiritual states. The only catch is, if we understand this, then its really great. But whole life is spiritual , whether he knows it or not.

For youth , all I have to say is - Keep your thoughts clear, Always focus on your Aim. There is absolutely nothing that you cannot achieve But your research must be deep and study should be well enough. And you should have the capacity to achieve whatever you have imagined. That's all. Today Religion and Spirituality. Sometimes religious people also start calling themselves spiritual. so what is religion and spirituality ? Just now I told that whatever we are doing in life, all come under spiritual only. Spirituality - When you experience the existence of the self and spirit, when you understand the existence of your life, when you understand its beginning that is called spirituality.

Religion too takes us in that direction. Religion too, If you are not alive, spirit is not inside you or God is not residing in your heart, then you wont be able to do anything religious too. So In my view there is absolutely no difference, Both are same Both are because of spirit only , God is residing in the heart and consciousness is inside us. Because of this only we are able to do anything. No matter what we believe One more question Guruji. Tulsidas ji composed Hanuman Chalisa. Why did he compose it ? This has a very interesting story. We all are aware of(read) the life of Tuslidas Ji. His family abandoned him. Beggars took care of him. Baba Narhari das took care of him. He was his guru too.

How realisation begins?

YouTube clip, ASR: realisation begins when you see you are not important to the world — yet you remain the hero of your own life story.

[Music] how realization begins. So that's how well I will say that you will become aware that you are realizing something when you realize you are not that important to the world. You are just another insignificant fellow and you think you are important. From that moment you will become more serious and your journey towards more serious realizations will begin. You have done something that you will become part of the memory of the society that that will make you important. If nobody is remembering you you are nothing.

Uh two of my dogs live up to nearly 20 years old and in the last one or two months they were suffering but we took care of them till the last breath. >> We simply cannot abandon just like that. People are more worried about their own disturbance not for the animal that's the main thing or they go to heaven directly. I cannot imagine heaven without good dogs. Not for me. ABOUT GURUJI’S BOOKS

About Guruji's Books: literary recollections, training, Shiva worship, society and compassion

EMPATHY, PITY, SUFFERINGS of OTHERS and YOGIC SENSITIVITY

recalling the story of Your famous parikrama when just from looking at an old woman’s feet, your own feet became covered with blisters- you said that the level of sensitivity became so high as a side effect of Samadhis?

Guruji: it was very high then .

there were several cases when you undertook disciples sickness upon Yourself?

Guruji: Yes, there were so many cases. It happened automatically, without my intention.

Once even the blood came out of my forehead; some people from Bengal were here, visiting- and their nephew was driving somewhere with the family; the car subsided and the nephew stroke his head with the rear view mirror - it began to bleed heavily. I've felt something and touched my forehead; there was blood, it came suddenly. That incident was very alarming; only after I felt the blood in my own head the phone call about the accident came – and the family just went through all the details of the accident. The comic part was: after that accident the nephew lost all his hair. I think I escaped that( laughing). Lots of different treatment was tried on him but the hair never grew again: he is still bald after that accident.

and all of it happened when You even haven’t receive the news?

Guruji: at the very moment of this accident.

Does it mean that the connection between Guru and disciple is very strong?

Guruji: it is always there; and it took me many years to insulate myself. And when the second samadhi started, the level of sensitivity enhanced dramatically. Now it is much more subdued and insulated.

the reason we ask you about these issues is because it’s presumed that enlightened beings feel the pain of the entire Universe. Is it really how it happens: the magnitude of sensitivity of such a person is so tremendous that he has to buffer himself?

Guruji: Now – yes: I think you’re absolutely right; I think in samadhi your consciousness is touching almost everybody and you are feeling it all; if someone is suffering – you will feel it.

Some of Your disciples also developed a certain level of sensitivity; Denis’ wife talked about nightmares and screams of the ghosts even before the war started. I want to ask You: how does it feel in the time of the great turmoil, when a lot of pain and death is happening, even very far away - is it amounting to a great feeling of collective pain?

Guruji: You will feel it intensely. And learn to accept it. And also will try to help them somehow, which happens automatically – you're not specially praying; but the help, if you’re feeling compassion or some pain, will just flow out to those who suffer. Help, solace – whatever it called . That's why I don’t like to go outside, because so many problems are already there in the world.

But life of the society is never balanced?

Guruji: And that is the beauty of the society.

...which is always in a process of re-attesting, re-ajasting; of course, there is equal amount of good and bad, suffering and pleasure?

Guruji: yes. And the beauty is: there is never 100% good and never 100% bad. How they fit into each other, like yin and yan – is the main ke to this play. How they complement each other is the main entertainment. As long as there will be society, the game will continue. But I think, human society has become more refined; and it will improve even more, maybe even evolve to a greater level.

Every era reaches a climax point, it has to exhaust all the boiling emotions, old business interests, satisfy ambitions, endure political planning... in other words – it's like a wave of a tsunami: it has to go up, before it crushes?

Guruji: yes, so another wave will come. I think all the spirits thrive on our emotions. That's why they keep on creating different situations - just to observe how we will act when faced with certain situations, what kind of emotions are there to experience.

Is there no such situation, where human nature will reach an unemotional state?

Guruji: I think, being emotional is the beauty of our existence, our kind. So many people are talking about compassion –that we need to have compassion… But until unless there is suffering – to what you will have compassion to?

Once you said that pity and compassion are two different things?

Guruji: Pity is a hidden feeling of superiority – because I'm better than the suffering person – and that is pity. Compassion is when you actually suffer because of the other person’s suffering - and you go out of your way to help that particular person. Pity is just gloating over the sufferer – that I'm ok, I'm in a better situation than that man or woman. That is very cruel king of compassion, or say, pity.

ABOUT GURUJI’S BOOKS

Emotional involvement, memory and learning from suffering

What is best attitude right now for the sake of practicing yogis, whoever is on one or another side of the warring states (or there are no sides for the yogis); is it best for us to know that sooner or later this period will be over?

Guruji: every period will be over soon.

some people prefer not to get involved emotionally or try to ignore whatever is happening around. It it wise?

Guruji: the more you’re trying to ignore reality –the more it proves that you’re emotionally highly involved.

You know there are a lot of things, imbedded in us: in my particular case I have almost genetic memories: my mother as a child survived the occupation of Kiev, she was a tiny child of 2 years when the germans came; and my grandmother had the scars of bites of the german shepards... when the war started I felt tremendous pain- it looks like we carry DNA memories of our ancestors of wars inside ourselves …

Guruji: We carry all memories

same with people, who came from Lahor to India during partition – they still have painful memories ..

Guruji: very bad memories, yes

and even their children carry those glimpses of the past ?

Guruji: I think such memories will continue for several generations.

What I'm trying to say is it’s impossible not to have a certain response programmed inside and therefore – reaction or non-reaction becomes a tough challenge?

Guruji: I agree, reaction is based on our memories. And we cannot undo them. But we can learn from them and try to move forward. But those memories will always remain part of us. I have nothing against it.

I read very interesting line yesterday: the biggest luxury of a man is to forget himself: not through intoxication or distruction – but forget himself in an ocean of non-memories. Is it possible only for yogis?

Guruji: from another point of view: when you overcome your tiny consciousness, diving deep to the ocean of consciousness - then it may happen. I will quote James Hadley Chase – he was a famous American thriller writer, I read all his books. I don’t know why I'm quoting him – but I think you will understand. There was one novel: “There is a hippie on the highway”, a must read book. The veteran from Vietnam is coming back and hippie movement is on the rise - and vet is becoming part of it; he is exposed to all these “flowed generations”” tings and… . Before going to war he had a lover, who committed suicide by cutting her veins – and it traumatised him greatly. And the author writes: after this man have come from the war, where he has seen many people dying everywhere – in blasts and shootings, converged in blood - the suicide of that girlfriend was not that important after that experience. When you have seen much bigger a and crueler things- then tiny thing which you thought of as greatly important may not remain that important for you afterwards. That was the moral of this thriller, which I may have read maybe 45 years before. It conveys the message.

Yes, some people manage to overcome personal pains and go on with the adventure of life and find a huge.. not even relief but forgetfulness of their pain, become bigger than that?

Guruji: I think the best thing is to learn relief with that: accept it! Instead of always fighting the pain. I've never come across any person who has not gone through some suffering, some tragedy, some sadness. Some people spend their lifetime weeping over it; some people accept it, learn out of it – and it always will remain a part of their memory. You cannot forget it. And there is no need to forget: all your wisdom, all your education, all your learning is based on your memory. Wisdom is nothing but a memory: what else is wisdom?

ABOUT GURUJI’S BOOKS

News, politics and the larger picture

The last question to sum up all that would be present manipulation of ublic opinion by a media: it is

is formed nowadays based on triggering the religious feeling, nationalism or gender identity - all of it clashed and manipulated very skilfully- how to handle that? If you’re educated enough you probably can make a distinction and decide for yourself what is happening. How to avoid being manipulated?

Guruji: I think that is politics: as long as there are politicians – it will continue. The best thing I found out is not to see the news on tv: that keeps your mind much more relaxed.

Is it even possible? We don’t see it but news comes in different forms..

Guruji: I’ve seen so much news: I'm aware of the news of the last 60 years – and they are more or less the same. Now even more…

Because of the gadgets the information spreads so fast: what would be the best thing to do: you read the news – but you stay numb to the news? Do read the news - but distance yourself from the news?

Guruji: You must learn to see the larger picture. Then it will not be that significant. And you will of course know which news is more significant, and which is just the trash.

ABOUT MAHASHIVARATRI

Mahashivaratri: paired divinity, disciplined sensitivity, death, happiness and cosmic power

HUMILITY FOR THE RELIGIOUS, CONFIDENCE FOR THE YOGIS

is it also to create some humbleness?

Guruji: main task is to develop yourself. The humbleness is for religious people.

so we must feel very good the difference between self-confidence and the arrogance?

Guruji: of course: self-confidence is welcome. I have seen: arrogant people don’t have enough self-confidence. There is no such thing as superiority complex: it is just a way of hiding your inferiority complex.

could we increase the quantity of prana inside by our breathing?

Guruji: you can be in a very friendly relationship with that.

HOW TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF PRANA IN THE BODY

but could we breath in more prana?

Guruji: no. by eating dirt your earth element will not increase.

could we say that prana is not only in the air but in the other elements also?

Guruji: everything is alive, yes.

About Yogananda’s energizing technics: most of them are very similar to what Charles Atlas was teaching: first muscle builder who was giving the exercise program for building muscles. He was great man – maybe best-build man in early 30s and 40s. he remained very fit looking and strong – and he start to sale that energizing technics.

The more your consciousness will develop – more aware you will become: with awareness will come sensitivity.

APHORISMS

English counterpart of Russian aphorisms: wording strength and preserved paradox

Guruji: I think only by great fortune or some association with some great person – only then mind will begin to think openly – otherwise it’s just a rush.

We’re just part of the flow. Even that is not bad, it’s good enough: at least it helps pass the time in life somehow. I think average person are happy in that way. At least they’re living a life – instead of trying to understand, what is life. Living is enough, why not?

ignorance is bliss

Guruji: but ignorance is not innocence, mind it. That is the very great point. Innocence has something divine in it – ignorance is not divine. For there is more bliss in ignorance, then in innocence.

If you want to be worshipped – you will not anyone else progress. Maybe that’s was the motive. Creating organization is like creating a certain type of empire. And if you will teach everybody how to be enlighten – everybody will become enlighten. But you need followers to serve you.

when we’re practicing – no matter what sadhana, but sometimes we feel that it’s enough to do it. The question is how to maintain?

Guruji: it will all depend on your motive – what you want to achieve. How far you want to go. I don’t think such things can be cultivated inside you: either it is there or it is not there.

what is Your motive?

Guruji: I have no motive now.

I can’t believe that, because everything that requires action has a motive?

Guruji: I’m a different type of person. I don’t care, what society is thinking about me. Society should care, what I’m thinking about it. You can call me arrogant or egoistic, but this is how I think.

some people are thinking that stars are influence them and other are thinking – they are influence future or stars?

Guruji: we all love to put blame on someone. On stars, on god, on our parents, on society, on politics. I take all responsibility on what I’ve done or what I’ve said. Start with that – be honest with yourself. Be brutally honest with yourself. Then maybe something will come.

RIDDLES OF VYASA – VYASAKUTAS

After very long planning, after some time when you look back – you think: oh, I’ve made a mistake. With planning usually mistakes come. and when you’re just deciding immediately – usually it goes in a right direction.

Basically plans could be changed, but decisions – never?

Guruji: I think you should be man enough to stand by your own decisions. If you cannot trust yourself – then you’re not trustworthy at all.

In ancient times kshatriyas were the example of honor?

Guruji: Most of the kshatriyas were greedy for property and unnecessarily killing each other.

If we remember Mahabharata – maybe only Vyasa behaved like the trustworthy person?

Guruji: You also need to look at the exact situation, how he took birth – it is very peculiar. This is not like any human birth. He was born on a small island on the Yamuna river; immediately after birth he grew up and said to the mother: whenever you need – just remember me; now I’m going to do some tapas. And only he could come back to life from the dead – it has never happened before.

He was like the observer of all Mahabharata and then wrote it down?

Guruji: No, he was the main character in that. He removed Ashwatthama’s curse within a month. Just imagine the power of the person, who could remove Krishna’s curse! And: his name was also Krishna. He’s a real Krishna. Think on that.

He is the author of Bhagavad Gita???

Guruji: C ould be – he wrote the whole Mahabharata(smiling) and we deciphered a lot of his riddles – Vyasakutas.

My salute is to the comic artists – they have brought a smile to millions of children and millions of people. How many people smile, looking at the so-called “progressive art”? They will smile sarcastically. Of course – when such picture sold out and the money comes to the artist – he will smile all the time. That is also great tapas – to create such a reputation of a great artist.

DO YOUR BEST

Watch the video

Where is the line between individual will and self-discipline and surrender? See, you can surrender to the flow of life, also to the flow of time. But how can you surrender in front of something which you are not even aware of?

You should do your best. Do the best, whatever you can do, and then surrender, because the result will come in time. So that may be a sort of surrender.

But never take a step back. Always put your best foot forward, no matter what the situation is. The results will come in time.

So let us see what will… deal with them.

Too much surrendering is for weak people, and to be a good yogi, you need to be brave and venturesome, very strong-willed, ambitious.

Remember one more thing I will say here: you are the heroine of the story of your life. Do the best you can and go.

SO WHAT IS IT TANTRA?

Watch the video

What about original tantra?

Guruji: “Tantra” originally means “technical aspect”. Engineering is translated as “tantriki”.

So it was no sexual context?

Guruji: I’m talking about the word itself. Engineering literally means tantric. And any technical mechanical aspect of any technical thing is tantra. So the technical aspect of any type of spirituality you can call tantra.

And I have said it on record: somebody asked me — because of my long hairs and kundals, and I’m wearing sometimes red or black — I like it, I’m not a sannyasi — so I can remain any way dressed I like or any way undressed I like — nobody is going to stop me; so he asked me: are You a tantric?

I said: just tell me, who in India is not a tantric?

He said: how?

I simply told him — I will translate that: are you not living in a prajar tantric country? Prajar tantric means democratic country. Prajar means “all the citizens”. All citizens are tantric: democracy is called “prajar tantra”. So we are practicing tantra.

And who is our Prime Minister? Means Pradhan Mantri: the chief knower of mantras! So everybody in India is a tantric. So we are all tantrics — and that is good.

Every technical aspect — even if it is a posture — can be called “tantra”. And the more they are trying to explain it to the westerners — the more complicated it is becoming. But nobody will tell you the literal translation of the word “tantra” — they escape that.

ESSENCE OF THE FIRE ELEMENT.

Gods as powers, obligations, promises and ego

you remember Neil Gayman’s American gods? Everything there has the own personification – like internet, telephone?

Guruji: I think some power or some spirit is controlling everything. Or maybe some immortal beings guiding us and carrying of us.

everytime when some force is appeared – it’s appearing of some god?

Guruji: human beings call them gods – for us they are extraordinary. Because it’s so much religious impact on us – so we connect extraordinarily with gods.

that’s why I’m not understand, why energy has no personification?

Guruji: it’s having it’s own personification – we don’t understand it. It is there.

how to differentiate the idea from my heart and idea from my head?

Guruji: listen- when you fulfill your obligations with happy mood – that will make you a very good human being. And when you will become a very good human being – you will become aware of the voice of your heart. Bad human being will never listen to the heart. Fulfill all your obligations – these obligations test you whether you’re good human being or some more goodness come to you. Carry on that way.

I was asked the question – how man should keep the promise? He or she as well. I will give you very early answer to that. I will say that every decent good man or person keep their promises. But on the same time an intelligent person never makes a promise. Remember that!

Every decent man or woman – let’s say person who makes a promise – must keep it. And they always do. But from the worldly side – decent man keep the promise, but the intelligent man never make promise.

You’ve just complimented me how I look – I will thank you and it was a big boost to my ego. Here I will say – I’m no problems with big ego, especially if it is mine. If someone else has it – then some problems may come.

A LITTLE BIT OF LIE

Closing incidents and the sorry rule

It reminds me another incident: when we were in college – it was one young man, my classmate. He was after a girl – and she was avoiding him. then we passed through the college – I became a yogi, so many things happened; after many-many years I coming out and saw him standing there. we begin to talk – we were good friends. Then suddenly the very angry looking child came and said: Papa, come quick, mummy is getting very angry! I looked at him – and he said she agreed. That was great fun!

I’m sure – if that boy will give me a beating and I’ll say “sorry” , he will not listen to it. There is no shame to say “sorry” for the real nice person; otherwise you’re free to fight, to punch and kick wherever it is needed.

without request?

Guruji: without any request or hoping that something will come back to you.

sometimes it happens that you try to help the person and the person refuse?

Guruji: then don’t help. You should also respect the dignity of the person whom you’re trying to help.

It’s a tricky thing; you never should say – you bastard need help? I’m so great so I ready to help you – here, receive my help. Never ever do that. Help in a such a way that the person, receiving help, will feel dignify also and he will not feel demean by did insecution to receive help. Help him in a way that he must feel good. STRENGTH — strength, challenge, discrimination, inspiration

STRENGTH

People, who are not so strong enough – they are afraid of very small things: just slight some bad emotion or some bad word from someone – and they are all shaken, they are just crying that this world is so bad. It is the main object of facing all such things – to make yourself strong. Harder things you will have in your opposition – stronger you will become. Strength will be always there to help you – your own. It maybe physical strength, mental strength and spiritual strength – they all go together. When you’re weak – people making pity of you, some of them; most of them will just mocking, laugh at you, not everybody will be your well-wisher and you will be out of exploitation. But if you make yourself strong – many people will ask for help. And you will be in a situation to help others. Strength is always needed.

but challenges for the strong person will become more and more?

Guruji: that’s how he will grow more and more. It’s like the play of chess: if you play with better player – your game will improved.

but then some people will come to you – you give them advice but they will do nothing, just to come again and again?

Guruji: I think when you will be strong – your power of discrimination also will be strong. Whether there are person who are coming just to listen something nice from you – or they really need help. You need to discriminate.

I don’t remember, from where it goes, but it’s good: I was just crawling on the ground, asking for help, and you just standing there, smiling down at me, doing nothing. And I said again and again – help me, but you just looked at me and smile. Then finally somehow with immense effort I just got up on my feet and took a few steps – then I realized: without helping me you actually help me then. Be inspiration for someone!

GREAT THOUGHTS

Colored diamonds, the guru's mood, and wisdom versus cleverness

What do You think about colored diamonds – they combine the power of two planets?

Guruji: No, if that particular stone – like sapphire – whatever color it is, either Jupiter or Saturn.

How do You feel when a person is coming for the first time – is it Your disciple or not?

Guruji: It depends on my mood: if I’m in the good mood I’ll say ok; if I’m in a bad mood I’ll say some other time. If someone asks me for Kriya yoga – he is more intelligent than an average person. A wise person doesn’t need to be clever: the approach must be very honest. A clever man will always be calculating and that will stop his progress. Wisdom is not depending on calculations, it is from inside. I see good people coming to me.

You see if the person has a technical or humanitarian mind?

Guruji: I have seen thousands of people so it’s easy to see.

How does this apply to the practice: for whom is it easier?

Guruji: The person, who is all heart understands it much better than the calculating man.

So it doesn't matter which hemisphere is working better?

Guruji: Yes, it depends on his approach to the subject. He should believe in fairy-tales rather than religious books. If we say there are vampires – he should believe immediately: yes, there are vampires (laughing) and when I show my silver toothpick, claiming this is the weapon to fight against the vampires and lycans – he should believe it immediately. Such a person progresses very well.

After all of your desires are fulfilled – only satisfaction remains: you need to understand what is satisfaction also. That means you have already gone through your material things and you’re becoming conscious of the Void. All desires are not so sinful: they are your desires – if you’re not supporting them they go away.

GREED

Ignorance, wisdom, repeated situations and truth

ADVENTURES FOR IMMORTALS

Who is the ignorant person? Who doesn’t even know what he doesn’t know. And the wise man is who knows exactly what he doesn’t know. Only this difference remains.

what do You think: if we doesn’t pass some test in our life, the situation will repeat or it will be different from different angles?

Guruji: when such minded person will go anywhere – he will keep continue to create the same type of situation wherever that person will go. Same results.

if you develop your brain – you will escape from that?

Guruji: when your awareness is developed – you of course get over these things. But I’ve never see hardcore criminals develop his brain. Some remorse when they are caught and waiting for the garrote – otherwise no awareness. People doesn’t want to be aware: feeling of security is the greatest ambition killer. When you’re feeling secure – you lose the spirit of adventure. You’re feeling secure – why you will go out unnecessarily?

You have said the truth is ugly?

Guruji: no, there are many beautiful truths.

but spiritual truth is not sweet?

Guruji: it may be painful when you realize that all those heroes you were thinking – they are just another idiots.

Surviving to tell the stories — the essence of life

as I understand – for immortals it must be something different?

Guruji: personal; but they’re surrounded by death – that point of view maybe different.

with that feeling of secure life is amazing for the wise people?

Guruji: after they have gone through many-many adventures – and then they can relax and tell the stories.

because what I see: when they lose that feeling of adventure – they start to destroy themselves?

Guruji: the essence of life is to be able to tell the stories about your adventures. What is the use, if you can’t tell the stories? Everybody loves the good story.

GURU AND DISCIPLE

About hypocrisy — honesty, routine, secret identity

ABOUT HYPOCRISY

When you know exactly what is hypocrisy – it’s very easy to avoid it. Thinking one thing, but presenting your personality differently to the others in a different way, which may not be exactly genuine. Main thing that you must be brutally honest with yourself. If you’re not honest with your own self – then just some romantic hallucination will follow. That is the first thing. You must be honest with you.

sometimes I know I must do something but I can’t force myself to do that?

Guruji: that’s why yogi suggest- find the permanent routine, daily routine, and follow it – then it will be easy. Initially it will be difficult to follow the certain routine day after day; then it will become better. Then you just need to keep your mind on it.

what I see – life is constant run towards aims which keep changing all the times?

Guruji: and also according to the social status of the things, they are not permanent in society most of the time – that is another problem. You’re reacting to the society. Learn from the American comics: every superhero has the secret identity, but they are not hypocritic.

Motive, progress, the horizon and the middle path

is t possible that the person has true motivation – but because of his prarabdha karma or his limitations he couldn’t achieve?

Guruji: see, achievement is one thing; but he will definitely progress- that is the main point. That’s why I’ve said in “Putnik”: reach out and touch the horizon. The most romantic thing: horizon will always be in front of you and you will move on and on and on.

is it possible vice versa: that person has all possibilities to reach – good karmas, good family, good genetics – but he has no motivation?

Guruji: if he has everything – what he will try to achieve? He will be dying of boredom. Very difficult for him to pass the time. He will become like Gautama Buddha: because he had everything – he will run away from his palace. I agree with him: take the middle path. He maybe talking about medium nerve, sushumna.

Also the situation of the world: never remain in situation of poverty and never reach the richest of rich: stay somewhere in the middle. That will balance your mind. It is mentioned in many yoga texts: in capital cities so many mental vibrations are everywhere, different type of people – so they should be avoided.

HOW TO ESTABLISH IN BRAHMACHARYA?

END OF STORY - DOMINATE YOURSELF — tantra, heart vs chart, communication

END OF STORY - DOMINATE YOURSELF

what is the real meaning of the word “tantra”?

Guruji: tantra means engineering, technical engineering.

have You ever the situation that from the heart You feel good for the person – but when You see the chart it was not so good – or maybe vice versa?

Guruji: no, never. Not yet.

or maybe You saw that the person is not ready enough – but in the chart there were the great possibilities?

Guruji: no, it never happens.

we discussed that human nature is to dominate; when the person starts practicing – his true nature will come up; so better to suppress somehow this dominating nature?

Guruji: no, just change the direction: instead of trying to dominate others - start dominating yourself. That is the end of the story.

sometimes life gives us the situations where there is no other chance than to dominate…

Guruji: that is the situation; we’re discussing our general nature. Face the situation, don’t back out!

maybe You have some general recommendations about the communication?

Guruji: there is no rules; I think communication should be good.

HUMAN NATURE IS TO DOMINATE

Dominance as basic nature, violence and the opposition

Guruji, what is Your opinion: what is the natural state for the human being – if he is not practicing? It exists some natural state of mind?

Guruji: every human being wants to dominate another human being. Their dominance define happiness. It is the basic nature of everybody.

That’s why ancient sages said: if you go against it – you will receive enlightenment.

can we say that the basic nature is violence?

Guruji: dominance is the root cause of violence. When you lose desire to dominate anyone else then you will look yourself in introspection – and very different feeling will begin.

but then everyone else around will try to dominate you, no?

Guruji: but you won’t care. Human beings will continue to act according their nature. You should not worry too much about them.

When you have no desire to dominate anyone else your existence will be of very different kind; even person, whose nature is trying to dominate you – they will stop dominate you.

Maybe if you will not do something they will even not notice you. So you can go along and do whatever you want to do.

so far experience is opposite

Guruji: no, because you’re trying that “I should not dominate”; but it is not removed from your mind and consciousness. If there is no chance of dominating anyone- every morning he will feel depressed( smiling). And if he has some chance of dominate others – even in a small way – he will wake up a happy person. You cannot simply discard this fact.

Guruji: no, vairagya is when you’re trying to remove it from your system, because you understand it’s not a good thing. That maybe called vairagya. When you have removed it – means you have evolved to a certain level and finally you can sit down and think properly. Otherwise, whatever you will ponder or think, somehow it will be influenced by this feeling of dominance.

until unless you reach immortality I think it’s very less possibility to reach this state?

Guruji: they don’t care for dominance, yes. But some people achieved it even before becoming immortal.

they lived beyond 120 years?

Guruji: you are beyond vairagya then – after 120 years gone.

only then you may have the real friendship?

Guruji: first with yourself: otherwise your attention will always be outwards, to whom you should dominate. Family members, friends, in society, in the work…and you’re not even removing: you’re evolved to that level when you’re stop carrying for it. Then, without enough nourishment, it will go out.

HUMAN NATURE IS TO DOMINATE

Life purpose, the Olympic goal analogy and non-judging

The whole life purpose is to dominate.

I think we’re already covered it: see, you set a goal; suppose you want to win a gold medal in Olympics, this is your goal. And now you’re training very hard to achieve it. But on every step you take in training you keep worrying whether I will be able to win it or not – it will spoil your focus, concentration will go away, and you won’t be able to achieve that. Set a goal, do your best and forget about whether you will be able to reach it or not: that is the meaning there, it’s psychological thing. I think every great champion will understand this very easily.

is it the state of non-duality – good or bad - when we will overcome the desire to dominate others?

Guruji: when you’re not even trying to dominate anyone – you will stop to judging them also. When you stop judging - all is good or as it is: you don’t even will say that it is good. When you say “it is good” means bad is already there. So you don’t care then.

How to fight back? — facing the dominator, with the politician/mafia exception

HOW TO FIGHT BACK?

how to deal with the person that always saying if you’re doing something – you’re doing not properly?

Guruji: face it! And if you think he’s not good – try to remove it. Without facing you cannot remove it. Go deep and find the reason, why this thing started.

sometimes it’s just the feeling of the supremacy of the person, who wants to manipulate you?

Guruji: face that person; what you can do? If he is politician or mafia man – then do nothing. Otherwise stand up to him.

If somebody is trying to dominate you unnecessarily – stand up to him, face him! As they say in America – you can play the same game.

Imagination and willpower

Death and the value of life; learning, entertainment and wisdom

You will realize the real value of life when you’re facing death. Without realizing death you will never realize, how life is precious, how much it is precious and how important it is. You can go to the jungle and be there until you realize it’s too long for you – depending on the situation. Also if you’re in very good physical health – your mood is good. The sensitive person always remember such experience. You will be more mature and your thinking and feeling the perception of life will be definitely different than before. Out of the pain of separation the love takes birth – it was a poetic thing but I think it’s true.

our consciousness needs experiences of all kinds of emotions?

Guruji: otherwise how you’re going to understand yourself?

so every situation or every action we can take as a kind of teacher?

Guruji: if you will take them as teachers and their teachings; or you can take them as adventures or misadventures. I think learning and entertainment are two most important things in our life. We learn from entertainment also and the learning can be entertainment also. Final thing is to keep your mind busy in a very good way.

if think about all like a teachings we can become mad?

Guruji: no, not teachings like school or college – it is self-learning thing. If it will be like school – of course madness will come. experience is the real wisdom. That is the difference between information, knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is something you read and discuss and wisdom comes with experience.

Life as school — home versus house, the two worlds of breath

the whole life is like training process for that?

Guruji: like a school for us – whoever we are: we left home to go for a school to learn, educate ourselves – then we will be capable enough to create our own home. That is the journey of life.

people build houses and die in own houses?

Guruji: no, people are hoping to create a home just build a house and departed. We must to learn to differentiate what is home and what is house.

There was a movie in hindi: the villain was aghori – and he addressed everyone like: you bastard, you’re dead body on smashan! – what you can say on that.

On both sides of your breaths you have to worlds: if you’re still breathing – you’re in this world. When you stop breathing – you’re in another world.

Fulfil your hopes

FULFIL YOUR HOPES

It’s sad observation that many people keep hoping but I’ve seen rarely their hopes are fulfilled.

I will quote the very old poem: why are you worrying, if earth is left behind?

There is so vast space, in which you can fly. And I have no hope of meeting you; but I have absolute belief in my ability that I will reach you.

It must be true knowledge and true enterprise that you should be strong enough, to believe in yourself – and go for it.

LOVE IS FOR THE WISE

Doubts and achievements

DOUBTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

When you will have so many doubts – your concentration is gone and you can achieve nothing- except bigger doubts.

Most of the people – they were scholars, they were not the warriors, great athletes or wrestlers;

Krishna says, that when you just do karma – but don’t think about the results.

But here it is said that you have already thought about the result and you have set out to achieve – that resolve.

But on the way, like all great warriors know, if you keep worrying – whether I will be able to do it or not, your concentration will be gone, your training will suffer and you will fail for sure.

Believe in yourself, set a goal, no doubt in your abilities, do your best and then some more – and why not, you can achieve that!

Never let your concentration go sideways!

Krishna was talking to the world champion warrior, - he knew, what can be done and what can happen if you lose your concentration.

If there is no goal – you will not start your karma to achieve it.

Important things in life are not impotent things; why? You must have enough potential, potential means – enough potency in you to achieve what you set out to achieve. If you’re unable to do it – you have lack potency and be called impotent.

MANTRA

Kshama and daya — forgiveness and empathy

KSHAMA & DAYA

can I ask you about true kshama and true daya? What is the literal meaning of these terms and how they are connected with yoga discipline?

Guruji: well, you can’t translate “daya” as “pity”. It is like empathy with sympathy.

so daya is not to serve everybody, like it’s always translated?

Guruji: no, the meaning is much more deeper than simple feeling pity for others. Daya means you can feel the pain the person is going through. High sensitivity like empathy, when you are ready to help or support the person. That is daya.

Kshama is like absolute forgiveness.

how absolute forgiveness is connected with yoga discipline?

Guruji: very simple for me. Somebody tolds me – that person is your enemy. I said no, I will not give him credit to called “mine”, - I don’t know him. Remove somebody out of your imagination – that is true kshama.

so he’s not your enemy, he just not exist for you?

Guruji: I mean – not in my imagination. If I will accept him as “my enemy” that means I accept him as “mine”, which I don’t want. Just removing from imagination.

but if somebody do something bad for you – you can not ignore him?

Guruji: if I will not accept his action – it will go back to him.

if you don’t react

Guruji: he will receive his own reaction. Today one example will coming. He was the biggest bull in our class. He was beaten many guys and even some teachers. He was very strong tall guy. Last time he came – it was very tragic situation. And the main thing all of this were happen with him because he beat up one teacher.

Just removing for your imagination – that is real forgiveness. Of course it is difficult. When someone is really hurt you – it’s impossible to forget or to forgive. Remember, love and hate are two sides of coin. You continuously remember the person you hate and you also continuously remember the person you love. So don’t give that person so much of your energy. Don’t make him so important. You spend so much power only remembering him. He’s not worthy of it.

It is not like – you can not do anything with that person right now and you just say – ok, I forgive you. Real forgiveness comes from that moment when your enemy is hung upside down in front of you – naked, absolutely helpless, and you have a razor – so you are in a situation to do anything with him. Then you can say – ok, I forgive you: then it will be considered as forgiveness. But if you’re powerless, you can not even touch that person, then you say – “I forgive you” – I don’t believe this.

MANTRA FOR LUCK

Remove the person from your imagination

REMOVE THE PERSON FROM YOUR IMAGINATION

Is it true that all people who communicate or meet in this life – they have rnanu bandha from past lives?

Guruji: I think they stressed things about rnanu bandha too much. Useless talk. First and second parts of “Aghora” are better, the third is useless. Only a very commercial mind will keep on thinking rnanu bandha: that everyone has come here to pay some debt or to take something from someone. Some people come down to Earth just for having fun – maybe some wisdom also. Ultimately all wisdom is just entertainment, for fun.

If some person stole something from you…

Guruji: It is a very commercial observation.

Are there some real signs that exist if you have met someone in your previous life?

Guruji: You will take on a very quick light within that person.

Better to break such a habit if you meet someone like that?

Guruji: What is the need? Carry on; just keep doing your own thing.

Likes and dislikes from previous lives are coming fast?

Guruji: Immediately, instant. From the first sight you will understand.

Is it possible if you disliked someone in a past life – you will like him immediately this time?

Guruji: No, if you had disliked that person very much– it will continue. You cannot become a paramahamsa just like that.

But why do such people meet again in this life? They must do some karma?

Guruji: When you really hate someone – the problem is: you will continuously think about this particular person: that creates a bondage. You should remove that person from your imagination: only then you can be free of hate. It is not an easy thing to do.

Ancient message of a yoga guru

ANCIENT MESSAGE OF A YOGA GURU

That has come just from the hands of a woman who has never had a relationship with other men. And in a prostitute’s life, there is no such thing as other men. So this gives them extraordinary power.

I have seen many old families where men were going to them, and ladies were cursing them. Everything gone, absolute bankruptcy follows.

Same thing in front of Shiva. Those ladies are invited to dance in front of Shiva, those who have no other man in their life. And only they fit the description. So always behave very respectfully with every prostitute. If they bless you, your life is good.

With hijras also, now they are called Kinnars , eunuchs, behave very respectfully with them. If they give you blessing, life is good.

Same with the low caste sweeper. Behave very respectfully with them. Because in India we consider only they are the people of the caste who have never deviated from their dharma.

And Sadhu, you never know who he is. Be respectful.

That is ancient message of Indian Gurus.

Thank you.

From yogic point of view humbleness is simple thing that I have the right to live on this planet so every insect, every being have the same right to live on this planet. That is the beginning of humbleness, respect life. If somebody comes to you, you’re not doing anything, and he just start to provoke you and some fight starts and he said – you’re not humble, you should be humble; - I’m doing nothing, you come to provoke me. Visions, sensitivity and the mixed character of people

I have 2 questions. One question is about the visions. I sometimes have when I go through some breathing technics I see eyes of people and animals and babies, snakes, cows and so on. These moments are very emotional. I’m not scared but I’m very thrilled in these moments and I would like to know whether it means anything. And there is a saying that eyes mirror our soul, is it really so?

My second question is about the nature of people. Are there pure evil people or are we all a combination of good and evil?

A: There is no purity in this world. Everything is of a mixed character. There is good and evil in people. It is very difficult to judge anyone just by something what he or she has done recently. So keep an open mind and an open heart and we don’t judge. I have seen many evil people doing very good things and sometimes, so called good people, have done some very bad things. So we are all of a mixed character.

And about your visions that means when you are doing that breathing things, you are becoming very sensitive. And I will say that most of the women are very sensitive by nature, and their intuitive power is very much developed also. It is a very good sign. If you keep doing whatever you are doing, those experience will become very deep. So I will say carry on.

PHILOSOPHY

Wisdom cannot be shown or filtered; Solomon; pointed people; information versus wisdom

so people not necessarily becoming wise with the years: the sadness come with the exertion?

Guruji: they were too busy showing to the general public that they’re gaining wisdom. This is what I say

what is the magic filter, that filters out the sorrow?

Guruji: there is no magic filter: the moment you begin to understand sorrow – you will see the joy just standing behind it. You need to face it, don’t run away. Face it and digest in your system. When too much sorrow will be digested in your system – more sorrow will simply bounce away. And it will give you even more entertainment – when you will see sorrow dancing away, going away.

That burder I disagree absolutely: yes, bookish knowledge will burder you .

that is king’s Solomon statement – that the more wisdom you get – more sorrowful you become…

Guruji: so maybe wisdom in the way – he was reading so many books: because book reading were very rare thing in those days; otherwise I disagree. The more wisdom will give you extraordinary understanding. And if your attitude is very positive – you will find joy everywhere.

the pointed people: it doesn’t mean they are stupid – but the people, whose features, feelings and emotions are too straight forward…

Guruji: they are good

it’s easier for them to process all the wisdom?

Guruji: I think they are wise in their own right, most of them I’ve come across. Every single person I’ve come across was able to give me some sort of wisdom. We cannot say that wisdom is copyright of only the wise, if you remain like a sponge – you keep absorbing wisdom coming from all directions. But you will be never burder by it.

what about the distinguish wisdom from the experiences?

Guruji: experience becomes different

in some people

Guruji: mostly! Bookish reading is not wisdom – it’s just education, you’re getting more information; but when some ideas begin to take form out of the information - then it becomes wisdom.

Taking the middle part — Greece, Girish, the middle path and the two tragedies

TAKING THE MIDDLE PART

The name of civilization is Greece, and one of the names of Shiva is Girish – means the Lord of the Mountain. Or Giriraj: Girish and Giriraj are synonyms. It cannot be a coincidence. It’s very similar like Zeus with thunderbolt is just another name for Indra.

but in ancient times Greek civilization was great – now it is gone?

Guruji: same thing in India: vedic culture is gone. Idea for surviving is: when you have reached the top – there is no way left but to go down. So remain in the middle – that’s the best way. You will always have so many options for you. Maybe that’s what Buddha were saying about taking the middle path. Never remain in the bottom and never touch the top – somewhere in the middle. Set your mental goals: because the person who knows, what happens when you reach the top – will settle down in the middle. A person, who have no idea what happen when he will reach the top – he goes down. There are two tragedies in life: you set your goal and you fail to achieve it. This is first tragedy. Second tragedy is: you set the goal and you achieve that – then you don’t know what to do. Take the middle path(laughing), remain somewhere in between. Go forward to the middle. We need to look deeper in every word – and it develops slowly.

Maintain your balance — difficulties, the tight rope and the unseen angle

MAINTAIN YOUR BALANCE

Difficulties in your life are like the test: whether you’re worthy enough to overcome it or just to spend your life complaining about it. Instead of learning out of it people spend their lives complaining. They should learn out of it, become stronger and move on. Moving on is the name of the game. At the same time you must be stable also – within yourself. I’ll give you one more example : living the yogic way of life – or even life itself – it’s like a tight rope walking: maintain your balance, either you move forward or backward. I think moving forward is better than moving backward. Or if you’re a very wise person, found the experienced Guru, you will remain in the center: you will make one step forward, one step backward – it will maintain your balance and you will be able to observe. Otherwise you won’t be able to observe. There is always unseen angle in every situation .

why it’s better to stay in one place and not to move on?

Guruji: to take a look. We need to take a look also. When you have seen enough – move on. Also you will be able to examine the tight rope itself: who put it there, why it is there? it’s profound questions and you should ponder on them. Then you will also reach the conclusion: is it necessary for me to standing or walking on the tight rope – or you can jump down safely. Several options will come to your mind if you’re able to stand somewhere and maintain the balance.

We are making the big mistake about relaxation: we think when you are physically relaxed and mentally relaxed – then it is relaxation; but the real relaxation comes – I feel, when you have achieved what you set out to achieve and that thing is in your hand: you have achieved it; then the state of mind is the state of relaxation – and satisfaction as well. Only with satisfaction some relaxation will come.

when we have difficult times – we become more slim, because you cannot eat and even doesn’t feel the taste; but I observe that mostly people became more fat: why?

Guruji: they are not relaxing: they are under depression or something. Depression is not relaxation. They eat more and more, eat junk food, - then they grow big.

if they are eat more – their mind will be like covered with garbage?

Guruji: you see, the digestive system will be overworking; sothe blood flow which supposed to go to your brain will start to feed your intestines: that will become the most important thing in your life to digest what you have eaten; and no thinking – only sleeping and maybe watching tv – that’s it.

how to break this circle?

Guruji: by facing it bravely. You cannot runaway from the situation in life. Face it!

and how really find the right decision?

Guruji: you need to go to your memory; compare in alike situation somebody did that and what happened with them; usually people begin to pending on memory to find the decision. I will say a golden words here, which I’ve been following all my life: let us see, what will happen! Make a decision, then think: let us see, what will happen!

Even for me – same words I’ve been repeating and hearing since my early childhood – but now I understand it in a different way. Let us see, what will happen! We will face, whatever will come our way.

and also You’ve said once – there is no coincidence?

Guruji: impossible, no coincidence. The most important thing, as I had understood: if you’re taking step back and running away from the situation: it is the most difficult thing to face yourself. So, always be happy to face yourself! That is the main thing in life. If you can’t face yourself – then you will run away: always wrong thing. Face yourself! Face any situation which comes your way!

Guruji, but if the situation requires the decision which leads to opposite directions: this is our destiny to make that choice?

Guruji: that means two different lines of your destiny are opening up for you: so that will depend on the decision you will make. And I will quote a movie from Hollywood here: Master, I ‘m not calling you a coward – but cowards usually survive!

I’ve read the research that in concentration camps only the person who were fighting – they survived. Who sacrificed their property and honour to survive – they will be damaged and died. But if you have honour to resist…

Guruji: honour is the most important thing: honour to the end, no matter what; it’s a warrior’s honour.

And what you can learn from vultures? Patience! You can learn from anybody, anywhere. Patience comes from vultures. They are the most non-violent creatures. Never attack, never kill anyone. They will just sit beside you and wait for you to die. Patience! And you’re looking at the man, who was sleeping under the roof where 50-60 vultures were sitting. Two years I slept like that; one day they simply left. I’ve never heard anyone sleeping like that.

REAL GURU

Self-confidence or arrogance

SELF-CONFIDENCE OR ARROGANCE

Arrogance is the feeling when you think that only you’re right and the person faces you is just another idiot. That is the basis of beginning being arrogant.

in new generation it is rising?

Guruji: some time; but older people are more arrogant.

what is the difference of attitude and arrogance?

Guruji: attitude is maybe aa reflection of your self-confidence; but arrogance started by thinking that the person facing you is a bastard and only you are right.

what if arrogance will rise?

Guruji: you will think you can command and control everybody.

arrogance and self-confidence…?

Guruji: self-confidence is different: you know exactly what you can do and what things you have inside you, the possibilities you’re aware of. That will give you self-confidence. Arrogance is something you don’t have but you imagine to have and try to prove it to other that you have that thing in you – which you don’t have. That is arrogance. More confidential things you know about yourself – the more self-confident you will become.

Religions and belief in life after death

Writing your own story; life as the path A to B

when the person, who practicing Kriya yoga, starts to write his own story?

Guruji: it takes a long time.

only after achieving Samadhi?

Guruji: it is just the beginning of the story.

but now we are have different reactions, different mood and different emotions – all is so much changed while practicing yoga; is it mean that we change our story?

Guruji: you’re discovering your own mind, your own consciousness. Now your story became more interesting. What is life? The path from point A to B. it’s up to you, how you will go – you can run from A to B, you can sing all the way from A to B and you can also dance and sing on the way from A to B – that is your choice. You have to go from A to B – why not make it interesting?

you can’t change the final destination – it will be B anyway?

Guruji: you can change, if you develop enough. You start from the point A to reach B, but when you reach B – you cut and go forward. That’s it.

RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility, guidance, near-death report and lexical traps

LAO TZU AND CONFUCIUS (YOUR STRENTH)

Lao Tzu was the great mystic in China. He wrote Dao de Jing. Confucius was the prime minister of the emperor then he was also very famous philosopher. He thought, that he should talk with Lao Tzu. He send him the invitation; Lao Tzu simply refused that I don’t want anything from Confucius so I don’t want to go. If he wants to talk – let him come; which was the big blow to the vanity of Confucius – so he went to see Lao Tzu.

He asked: what makes you so special? Lao Tzu simply said: very few people know me, I’m exclusive; you’re public property.

Strength of such people depend on public opinion. So you never going to be strong. Your strength should depending on your own effort, your own findings and your own achievements.

JUSTICE

The question was – what is the difference between justice and injustice? My answer was that the situation of injustice is far superior then the situation of justice. When the laws and all these things were established – that means a person needed a justice, he could go and complain that I’m not getting what I should or somebody took away of what I have: so please, give me justice. Situation of justice is for the general society where all bad things are going on.

And the situation of injustice is that state of society when nobody is doing anything wrong to the other and they all living according to the nature’s law. That is the state of injustice.

Once upon a time when I was in college I got to see decoyed from the very famous Chambal prison. He surrendered to the police and I was young man so I was curious to see how the decoyed looks. My uncle was a government lawyer so he arranged for me to have their darshan. He said – all these locks and all these legal documents are created for a so-called nice people – because they are not trustworthy. For a decoyed – a lock doesn’t matter, his word is command. All these things are created because so many people are not trustworthy. Even though they have so much good inside them. Let’s have more faith in nature’s law.

BUSINESS

What is business? If you look at the spelling of the word it is like busy – ness, to remain busy in something. I think for some high being or for the better use of term “god” human beings were creating so much problems - so they gave them something to remain busy. They are busy in business just rolling their money trying to have more money – to remain busy.

RICH PEOPLE

Don't afraid to say sorry — the school boy and the Rishikesh bus

DON’T AFRAID TO SAY SORRY

some day we were discussing the signs of progress in practice: that if practitioner come to ill person – he will feel better. But what about practitioner himself?

Guruji: if he is strong enough he will also feel good.

if he is not strong enough?

Guruji: he will feel good – but that will be emotional thing for him to feel pity on that person and he may continue to think about that person. It’s fine.

if we feel that we done something wrong to someone?

Guruji: go to that person and say “sorry”.

but if I can’t find him – how I can do that?

Guruji: by doing good deeds. If you don’t know exactly, what you have done wrong – then go do more good to others. And if you hurt someone and you keep feel remembering that person – go there, say “sorry” with all humbleness.

but it’s impossible to erase what you done?

Guruji: no, the memory will remain but when you’ll be forgiven – it will not be so painful. Once I gave a beating a boy in my school; then he begin to cry in such a pitiful way that he broke my heart and I couldn’t get over that. Then my father were transferred and we moved to another place and it was almost forgotten. Then – it was maybe in 79 or 81, I was already searching for yoga – I came across that boy as a grown person. He recognized me instantly, I’ve recognized him instantly: and our last meeting was that fight. I was still feeling stronger and he was a little bit afraid; his family was also with him – his wife and some others. I went to him; he maybe think I’ll start something, but I shook his hand and reminded him and say that I’m very sorry of what I have done. And he was so happy – I tell you – he was so happy- then he treated me with ice cream and said – please, don’t worry, it happens. My mood became very good – and his mood also; he introduced me to his wife and told me where he is working – suddenly the atmosphere was very good. So if you need to say “sorry” to someone – please, do so! Ever be shy on that.

if you have no possibility to do that?

Guruji: you lost the address or he is gone?

yes, I couldn’t find

Guruji: then just say “sorry” in your heart: maybe chance will come and you see him face to face.

One time we were coming from Rishikesh, I had a cousin with me. He was so angry all day: it was too hot and all other botherings. We just boarded the bus and my cousin, angry man, just push one old man one side and entered. This old man was with his son, his daughter-in-law and few granddaughters and grandchildren. The argue started and my cousin used some bad words on them. We were strong and just sit down on the back seat. The whole family was looking down, feeling very tense. I was already a Guru in Kriya yoga, I noticed this. Then I saw a man – he was maybe sick or something, vomiting. And a son of that old man immediately brought some medicine and gave him water; I said – this man is good and I don’t want him to remember us like this. Some more people went out from the bus – and there were not many people – so I got up and sat behind them. They became even more tense thinking some fight may begin. I said: sometimes without any intention confrontation comes and I’m very sorry to cause this disturbance. It was not my intension. Then I call my cousin and say – come and say “ sorry”. And he touched the feet of old man and said – sorry sir, my mood was not good. Suddenly the atmosphere was different – it’s okay, it happens sometimes every day. They even gave us address – they live somewhere in Delhi doing business – some shops or something. One time my cousin was visiting that area and remember – some west patel nagar, I still remember that. He went to say hello and the secretary asked – he was a big businessman – who? He told he was the one who clashed in a bus from Rishikesh. That man came out of his office all hugging him the he came to his house, offered him lunch(smiling). If we would not say “sorry” that time – I don’t think they have very good intention for us. So if you feel some wrong you have done – always say “sorry”, that is the best way. And I think – if somebody remembers you in a good way – that is very good. Only your enemy should fear you – if you have enemies. But this thing should come from heart: if somebody will force you to say “sorry” - you’ll never feel sorry.

RUDRA YAMALA TANTRA(continuation)

Basic instinct of comparison

Basic instinct

Basic origin of desire: when you see someone having something and when you begin to think that you must also have it. just for nothing, just of the sake of possessing this thing.

it is game of our mind?

Guruji: you can call it the game of our mind, but it is the basic instinct of comparison with another person.

Like this person have something – I must have the same. This basic instinct is in everybody. So we start to desire so many things. Basic desires are not many. We don’t desire basic things, they are there, but other things we desire. Only in comparison. It is just like somebody said that you’re going to the restaurant, ordered something, and you have been served; then you look at the side table – somebody’s else and then you think: I’ve should order that. That’s how desires come. You’re never satisfied with what you have. You must have what other person have.

how to become satisfied?

Guruji: when you stop comparison. Stop compare yourself with others.

Society, normality and realization — reaction and going deep

Society; Suffering; Realization

Some people are saying – ‘’I’m very happy that I’m normal man’’ – I know that they say it, because they can not achieve something. Show me one person, who doesn’t want to fly like Superman or to shoot wires like a Spiderman. Show me one person, who have no fantasy about it.

I would love to fly like Superman and I’m not problem saying that. It is just lack of spiritual adventure in many people’s mind that make them say – ‘’ I’m happy to be normal”. Or – I don’t want to be famous. Fame is not something, which come running after you. It’s fine with them, if they live like it.

sometimes we made mistakes and chose the wrong decisions – how to feel it?

Guruji: if you will go deep inside your heart – deep down you will discover it. As long as you will continue react to the society different pattern – you will never discover what you really want. Only when you stop reacting to people and society. You see – most of our social behavior is reaction to something. When you will stop reacting, be still, and go deep down inside you – then you will discover, why you are here.

it’s coming with practice?

Guruji: of course!

Only with practice you will stop reacting, start thinking and go deep inside your consciousness, your mind – you will discover so many things about you.

Self-realization is very important. It’s another simplification: ‘’ I’m not the body, I’m the spirit’’. But we need body experience.

SECRET OF AWAKENING OF THE KUNDALINI

Find the purpose of life — destiny, samadhi and the purpose question

FIND THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

I heard that the date of birth is very important – but the future can be changeable?

Guruji: it depends on how person is living his life and what he is doing. Even death can be changed.

can person control his destiny?

Guruji: you cannot control what you don’t understand. Self-understanding is extremely important and the first step towards so-called control it. Instead of controlling forcibly – friendly relationship is always better with your own self.

it must be exist some technologies to enter samadhi while dying?

Guruji: death and samadhi are synonyms. They means the same.

I often hear :there has to be a purpose for us to take birth – we’re so great; most of the births are without purpose. It’s a big achievement for anybody to find a purpose. Only then, when you discover what is your purpose, then only your life will be concentrated towards achieving that purpose. Only then you will experience the real form of concentration. Till then – nothing.

when you know your purpose – then the nature itself will lead you…

Guruji: it is just another utopian thought – that the nature will lead you. It will test you first!

You always need guidance. Without guidance nothing happens. It’s a very big grace from God that you find a well-wisher and they guide; who will guide you – otherwise it’s impossible situation.

then what is the purpose of so many lives?

Guruji: entertainment!

I’ve gone through 2-3 people who said that there is the answers on that question…

Guruji: well, you have gone to 2-3 people – I have gone through hundreds of sadhus and so-called saints – I’m more experienced in that.

Maybe I have talk to thousands of sadhus, holy men and spiritual men – and other people also; not only religious people are holy men. From dacoits and criminals to saints and paramahamsas – so many. And conclusion is: they were all human beings.

When you’re going to professional guru – you can never discuss with them one to one. It is usually one side dialogue – from his states. And you paid a fee somewhere else.

Guruji, when You have realized that there is no purpose in the human birth?

Guruji: oh, very early – after when I saw many-many people without purpose: just enough kitchen money, some responsibility – that’s it. Even in that they were very uncomfortable.

so here we cannot say that ignorance is about no efforts or no ambitions to attain?

SIMPLE THINGS ARE DIFFICULTLY TOTAL

Relax by doing nothing; money and the samadhi simile; read the books

You need to relax – to see your own limitations. First you need to make the mind very clear. Giving you practice now will create more stress in your mind.

what can I do to relax?

Guruji: do absolutely nothing – only then you could be relaxed. If you will put in relaxation doing something – you’re not going to relax. Simple things are very difficult to do. How you’re making money?

we together making chairs for the straight spine.

Guruji: I will say: make 50 million dollars or 100 million dollars – then retire and do nothing. Then you will relax. Only if you have enough money – you have effort to relax. Somebody asked me: how You feel the Samadhi? I said: just imagine – there is a stake 1 billion dollars cash in a room and you’re looking at it. That feeling maybe similar to. You can do whatever you want to do.

I’m feeling now that even earning more money not giving me the satisfaction?

Guruji: because you haven’t earn enough yet.

I’ve just touch something what I want to find in the very deep meditation?

Guruji: that is the different type of stress. I’m telling you to make enough money – then do nothing and think. Then relax. Then decide. Our way of life is not suitable for you. We do nothing – we just accept that what comes our way or beg. This life is not suitable for you. You read any of my books yet? Read all my books. It will give you the very different point of view of so many things. You can buy them from Amazon, Russian translations are available.

how can I understand that I’m ready for coming here?

SIN; ENJOYMENT VS SUFFERING;

CHARITY; — happiness through suffering and personal involvement

CHARITY;

You will realize the value of happiness only by going through suffering. Only after experiencing suffering a person realizes true value of happiness. And only by going through pain of separation true love emerges – this is what I think.

what do you think about charity?

Guruji: if you’re donating to organization – it’s foolishness in my opinion; if you’re not personally involved then there is no charity. Look around you – you will see someone among your relatives or neighbors who maybe too shy to come forward to ask for help, you should be intelligent enough to observe – and offer them help. Don’t wait that – I will help only if someone ask me: you should be sensitive enough to look at them. Charity proper organizations just after your money – you never know what they are doing. Until unless you’re personally involved it is useless; or if you know some very reliable person, who is not running the organization to do that – you can help him to help others. You should be sensitive enough in your heart and your pocket to sense who needs your help and give them help. There might be some relatives who will be too shy to say, or some neighbors or just you can find some needy person. If you feel that they are need help – please, do so. Personal involvement is extremely important. That is charity in my opinion.

SIX LINES OF TIME

Appearance, diet, alchemy, reactions and honour

Good memories usually come in the end. You will remember every insult you received in your life – you cannot forget that. Find them living in your memory for some justification – and move on. It is an experience, you’re learning from life. A person, who has never been insulted, never faced any hardship in life, never overcome any obstacles – he is a fool. All these things give a lot of wisdom: they are true experiences of life. And then you have many stories to tell also. What is a story: he was a very good man, he was born to a very good parents, went to a very good school, all his teachers were good, all his friends were good; then he married a very good girl, their life were good, they had a very good job, he retired very nicely and died a good man. I mean: where is entertainment? Never ever ignore the entertaining effect.

HOW SHOULD A SPIRITUAL PERSON LOOK LIKE?

It is not easy for me to understand: why the general impression is that- holy man or spiritual man should not look good. Either they wear very dirty clothes, or matted hairs, or something. I think if you’re doing something, which is supposed to be the best in the entire Creation – then you should look your best also. As they say: clothes do not make a man; so if clothes do not make a man- then why not dress up well? Instead of undressing well? If it is all the same – why not? I think, spiritual persons – they need to look much better than a normal person; then how they will inspire? I try to do my best – and all my friends and disciples support me in that.

It is said in many books that Paramahamsa behaves in his image like a child, like a madman or like a drunker or some bad person; so the people will not recognize that he is Paramahamsa. I have a very simple suggestion: why go through all this trouble? Behaving like a child as a grown up, like a madman or drunker or something? You just shave off everything, wear nice clothes, jeans, wear spectacles – nobody looks at you as if you’re Paramahamsa. Very simple way to hide yourself! Think carefully on that. It is the message to all Paramahamsas!

SIX LINES OF TIME

Apology revises a blanket-justification reading

Yes, in Your situation You were 100% right.

Guruji: One incident I will tell you. There was some misunderstanding in my college, so I gave a beating to one boy. I don’t know what happened; I lost my temper – he was trying to be oversmart, so I just punched him 2-3 times, which was too much for him. And we never talked. Then we left college, I became a yogi, – don’t know what happened with him. Then I became a Guru – it was maybe in 1992, before I came here. I was in the market for something, living on my farm in the cottage; I saw that man with his wife and 2 sons. He looked at me and recognized me immediately: you never forget someone who has given you a beating and you never forget someone you beat; forgiveness is not there. I looked at him and I thought: I must open this knot in his heart. He was innocent: I was not aware – but he was trying to be funny unnecessarily; so I went to him. He became very tense: am I to do some insult in front of his wife and sons. I simply shook his hand and said: I’m very sorry we had a fight then in college; please, forgive me. Suddenly his face lit up, became very happy, he introduced me to his wife – oh, we were very good friends in college; you, do namaste to uncle – to his sons; and he even gave a treat of masala dosa there. I learned a very important lesson: if you think you have committed a mistake, always say “sorry”, there is no demeaning in it.

And that man, I think – he remembers me with good thoughts now. Otherwise he would be cursing me all the time: he can never forget or forgive. But I think it was good that I did that. I also feel good after that. He said we were very good friends in college; and his wife didn’t ask – what type of friendship. His young boys looked smart and they also went happy. Now I’m sure – he lives in Gwalior; and there are thousands of my photographs everywhere, so whenever he sees – “that is my friend”. Good feeling, good vibe.

THE STRONGEST PUNISHMENT

Life is a game — dharma, play and the limits of imagination

LIFE IS A GAME

Could the desire to get pure consciousness be my destination?

Guruji: Yes: that is what we’re teaching and what we’re trying to achieve.

The destination is our dharma?

Guruji: No, the dharma is different. Dharma will give you enough power to reach your destination.

Does it mean that if a person has no interest in something in his life – he has already gone through this destination in past lives?

Guruji: Maybe he is just going through this lifetime as a result of his past karmas: so his plan is fixed and limited . Such people never become aware – no matter how much you talk with them or how much you try to show them – it will not register in their mind.

Normal human nature is to be attached to different pleasures?

Guruji: You like to kiss your girlfriend – but you cannot continuously kiss her for 10 hours. We cannot say we’re addicted to pleasures: momentarily.

But maybe from childhood we have an addiction to play, to game; and by playing with something we have the pleasure not by the senses but by the process of playing?

Guruji: And when you’re tired – you love to sleep. These are interests, not real pleasure.

Is it suitable for the yogi to remove all the seriousness from his life – and perceive everything like a play?

Guruji: It's a very serious play . Every play is very serious . Main thing is when you evolve – your point of view and perspective will change. Like you’re no longer a child – but you can play with a child, if you want. Without becoming a child yourself you can play with the child. Like that.

Is the world a big playground – playing wars, love stories…?

Guruji: What else is life? Indian plays are going on – they set the mind of the Creator.

Is it possible for the yogi to reach such a high level of consciousness – to become like the Creator?

Guruji: Why not? Read Shiva Sutras again – it’s mentioned there.

Could we say that the only limitation we have – it’s our imagination?

Guruji: Yes, that is what I keep stressing every time.

So all what we can imagine – can come into reality?

Guruji: Then you will need to understand, what is the imagination : giving a certain image to the formless thought – the process is called imagination. And it all depends on your past experiences. Even your imagination is bound by your past experience. You need to make it free from that; then it will flow.

COMMON PEOPLE

for a yogi: how to escape the entrapment of arrogance and feeling yourself the superhuman?

why when You’re talking – You separate common people and yogis?

Guruji: because common people are not practicing yoga, especially this system of yoga. When you’re discussing something – you have to draw a line. They are not doing anything like this. And it doesn’t make you superior to them: it is not their motive to do. But I don’t have to go out of my way to please them and say – oh, you’re so great. If they come to me – I treat them well. If I go to them – they treat me well, so we have no problems. If you go out – you don’t find a board proclaiming that Shailendra Sharma is a yogi. Not even you will see that Kriya yoga is taught here. Arrogance is always false, unnecessary thing. Self-confidence – by knowing yourself you will realize that. With the practice self-confidence will be more.

usually people see self-confidence as arrogance?

Guruji: idiots. You don’t have to go out and explain them that you’re just self-confident. You don’t have to do it. Let them form whatever opinion they want to form.

Where are you floating — recognizing idiotic things

WHERE ARE YOU FLOATING

Slowly with time the things that fill up your life become very different: you throw away many idiotic things and try to fill it with real knowledge

Guruji: And you’re able to recognize, what is an idiotic thing. That is the beginning of becoming a wise person. In fact, only when you go out – only then you can realize where you were floating.

The body as clothing for the spirit

Maintaining the balance: ash, baptism, aims, success

MAINTAINING THE BALANCE – THAT’S THE NAME OF THE GAME.

You were talking that ash is the strong protection?

Guruji: ash is for disciples only.

what You can suggest for normal people – baptizing or some red thread or what?

Guruji: baptizing is not a bad idea: you will be socially accepted. Being in Rome dress like a romans – and you’ll survive. If you’re going to pigmy tribe – dressing tux is not good idea.

if you do something in life – you must have the aim, no matter is it bodybuilding or something?

Guruji: yes, or to make money or looking good, impress others. If you’re genuine yogi – you can do anything and you will always maintain the balance. Maintaining the balance – that’s the name of the game. Whatever you will do – you will do better than another person.

Why we see so much unsuccessful people? Because most of the people don’t like what they do. They don’t make there complete focus and effort – so they fail. Wherever you will see the person, who like, what he’s doing – you will see successful man. Another observation from Shailendra Sharma: a person, who lacks intellectual perception and is not intelligent, cannot remain without physical work, to remain idle without physical work you have to have highly developed mind. Then you can just lay down and think.

Knowing yourself and believing in yourself

Instagram clip: believing in yourself by discovering yourself

Many people are, say, confused that how they should believe in themselves. And it's a very simple approach. I mean, the more you will discover things about yourself, the more you will know yourself. And the more you will know yourself, the more faith you will have about yourself. It is a simple approach. Try that.

A message during coronavirus restrictions

Instagram clip, ASR: a message during coronavirus restrictions — keep practising Kriyā, stay home, exercise, follow the government, stay happy; all who are born will go.

Hello, I will say to all my friends and disciples, keep practicing Kriya Yoga, remain at home and also do physical exercise so you will stay away from depression. And remember, those who will not die of coronavirus or suffer from coronavirus will not become immortal. It is just a matter of who will go first and who will go after. And those who has taken birth will go one day. So just remain happy whatever time we have been given on this planet. Enjoy it. Do good to others and remain safe. Follow exactly what the government is saying and be happy.

METABOLISM OF THE YOGI

If you see other person needs some help – you cannot simply avoid it saying “ it’s not my problem”. Because you’re part of the society if you’re able to help – do so; because you’re never know when you’re going to help yourself. Help, if you’re in position to help.

Q: you tell that body is projection of the mind…

Guruji: yes.

Q: but you say that people you experience in Samadhi were not so good…

Guruji: they were not so good because their thoughts were not so good, their intentions were not so good. Only your mind will make you different, not your body. What is the difference between Adolf Hitler and Mahatma Gandhi – only mind and consciousness. Otherwise they are simply human beings.

Q: so that good people you have seen – they have good possibilities?

Guruji: no. They were not yogis at all. But somehow their spirituality was as much greater skill than normal people,- what we call normal. They were very pure in their hearts and they have genuine inside.

Q: how it is possible: spiritually he is good, but in the world – bad?

Guruji: because of the social norms. You see – somebody guardening samshan – nobody call him to marriage or another type of party – he always remain as outcast. Many “normal” people even not considered that they are people.

Q: but their bodies were in good condition?

Guruji: the guard of samshan was very lean and thin. But his mind and spirituality was over super.

Some Flowers And Some Thorns

Some Flowers And Some Thorns

People have narrowed the meaning of a great concept like character to erotic behavior. To me character means the way a person conducts himself during his journey from birth until this death. Himself, his efforts, success, failures, reason or lack of it all together form his character. While advancing when advance comes to end the character of the person is born.

Sin may be simply defined as an act, which causes its executor to burn in the fire of repentance after doing it, and the ambers of repentance withholds all his progress. Any such act may be called as sin.

Ordinary and extraordinary

Ordinary means those whom some one else has supported i.e. those who need someone to support their existence are all called as ordinary.

Extraordinary or exclusive are those who do not need anybody’s support, because they support themselves, they do not need anybody for their existence. The one who is recognized by his own existence is extra ordinary or exclusive!

Such great persons who do not need anybody’s support for their existence are known as extraordinary.

Sympathy turning into cruel joy

When a person is seen to be unhappy for lack of accomplishment of some of his ambition, others feel sympathy for him. Sympathy thus originated transforms later into a feeling of being comparatively happier than the person for whom sympathy initially originated. The moment, at which this feeling is born, the initial feeling of sympathy is dead. A person begins to feel a cruel joy of being happier than the unhappy one. It is distressing that majority of persons in society feel happy with this cruel joy. For them, someone else’s unhappiness in merely a means of feeling happier themselves.

Goal, truth beyond imagination, quiet, circumstances

Gloom exists only for those who cannot fix the goal of their life. Those great people, who could fix the goal of their life, make life staking efforts to achieve their goal. For them there exists no gloom. They continue to step forward in the direction of their goal and continue to do like this. When journey of the body comes to an end, its consciousness drives them onwards from that point. Journey begins only when destination is fixed.

Truth prevails beyond the reach of imagination. Those who assume their imagination to be a reality do not realize that their imagination can be real in the realm of imaginations but it is not necessary that reality will essentially tally with their imagination.

Goal, truth beyond imagination, quiet, circumstances (continued)

A person who could not enrich his mind and is unable to understand human compassions abstractions, miseries and inspirations cannot live without doing physical labor.

It requires extremely rich mind to sit quiet. Whoever has endeavored to enrich his mind appears to others as quiet and quiescent.

We cannot stoop to a lower level to compromise with the circumstances. It is for circumstances to adjust to a level at par with ours.

We have always lived our life beyond our means, and now the means of living are rising to match with our lifestyle. Said in other words, if we always live beyond our means of life, they will invariably adjust to match with our life style.

One happily sits in darkness, when the darkness in the life is all over.

The worst crime; conciliation; satisfaction

The most serious crime is that which one commits unto him. Because so long as one remains guilty-conscious about the crime committed unto him, his latent capabilities cannot be delivered. The most serious offence is to stall the progress of one’s latent capabilities and to ruin the possibilities of someone’s latent capabilities from awakening.

True conciliation can be given by a person whose association arouses the very best facet of his companions. To arouse the very best facet of some one’s personality can be said to be the best conciliation to any body.

Journey towards attaining satisfaction begins at the moment the best facet of ones personality springs up. When the personality of a person grows up to excellence, growth having reached an end, the person becomes “Possessed of end” and stays satisfied.

Friends and enemies; hero; trust in oneself

Agreed that friends are helpful in begetting success; but it needs enemies to achieve greater success.

Everybody is himself a hero of his life. How we chart out our life is more important for us than it is to others.

Trust in oneself is a consequence of knowing oneself. Self-realization begins from the moment one develops trust in oneself.

Compassion, charity and guidance

When a person attains a certain level, he feels sympathy for others who endeavor to make progress, because he has himself passed through similar struggle. Then appears a desire to help him out of sympathy, which is termed as compassion. When compassion finds expression, the offer to the struggling person for exchanging one’s experience is called charity. The struggling person on receiving charity is greatly enthused to advance towards his goal; and it is that much easier for him to attain his goal. Proper guidance is a real blessing, which causes consciousness to advance toward totality in all its facets.

Irregular life, life as punishment, honour, lies

Those, who are nervous about the irregular style of their life for nothing, know not that they are living a perfectly regular life in being regularly irregular in their style.

Some people live their life as if it were a punishment and are deprived of experiencing the loveliness of life. Err, behold the limit of their nervousness, they who consider this life as punishment do not care to know the guilt for which they are being punished and yet feel convinced that it is a punishment.

The most important honor is the one, which one bestows upon himself.

One who attempts to earn respectability by telling lies does not realize how much he is humiliating himself by doing so.

A consciousness that can fall or rise; respect

Everybody is garnishing within him a consciousness, which, by a little manipulation can cause him to experience fathomless downfall, and that same consciousness, on getting proper direction can cause him to experience such great heights of glory, a mere imagination of which is awesome for common people.

One who is regarded as respectable is attributed with godliness by his followers who expect such extra-ordinary divinity from him that even his natural human facets become unbearable for them. They forget that such respectable person has in him all natural human weaknesses and yet he has done something by proper application of his consciousness, which is adorable. To pay respect to somebody provided it is not forced upon him; is but an acclaim of his efforts of progressing beyond his limits.

Respect, which easily comes merely by way of proximity with great person, is one such thing that very few people can digest successfully. Hence people lacking in truthfulness cannot preserve such easily gotten respect. A person, whatever his level — great or mean should never forget his lot.

Criticism, truth and imagination, greatness, coal and diamond, reproach

How easy it is to criticize others, and to exaggerate their shortcomings? A critic while criticizing others also nurtures an illusion of his eminence. But to the extent I have observed, those who always criticize others are always far away from the excellent facets of life and consume themselves while living an ordinary life. But those who experience both the good and the bad, although both are arbitrary, and develop their consciousness, overcome its shortcomings, elevate the consciousness of others by their own example and proceed towards experiencing the totality of their life. Accomplishment of life perhaps lies in living life like this only.

One observes truth and despite its evidence, does not accept it because the truth does not conform to his imagination and this happens because his imagination does not conform to the truth.

First step forward towards attaining greatness is in itself quite great. The greater the challenge one accepts for his life, the greater the greatness he earns for himself.

Principally there is no difference between coal and diamond, this statement can cause some delight to the coal. But it should understand that unless it does not successfully bear with extremely high pressure and temperature it cannot undergo transition in diamond form. The same way with human beings there is principally no difference between an ordinary person and a great person and yet only that person, who in order to attain greatness, puts efforts, bears with several mental stresses and ventures to do hard work for achieving his goal is elevated from ordinary level to great levels and is then admitted into tradition of great people.

Criticism, truth and imagination, greatness, coal and diamond, reproach (continued)

If you observe that your acquaintances and so-called kin are out to reproach you more and more or you are facing heaps of problems, then be sure that you are following the right path. Because nobody so far has shown courage to restrain those who were committing tainted acts, nor has anybody shown courage to say anything to persons of criminal mentality. This so called society reproaches and seeks glory in reproaching those who are virtuous and gentle at their heart, because they are sure enough that the reproached person being gentle will not harm the reproacher. That’s why if you observe somebody being unnecessarily denounced, reproached, humiliated, chided, you may infer that the person must surely be gentle and following the right path.

Life as a bubble of time; dignity

What is life? Like a bubble of time flowing somewhere in the flow of time.

After getting installed as dignitary a person rises above the feelings of honor and dishonor. It somebody abuses a person who has earned real dignity, then the abuser feels himself abused.

The moment a person is completely depleted of his yearning for dignity, dignity in its totality solicits such person form that same moment.

Greatness and limits

Greatness is the consequence of proceeding ahead by breaking one’s limitations, which others in the society restrict by calling such person a “mahatma”

Ornamental praise complemented by others is the best means of restricting the personality of any person from evolving.

While being limited in one’s limitations, one becomes so much adept with his limitations that he no longer feels his limits to be limits at all. And he becomes restless even with the thought of becoming unlimited. At the root of ambition of progressing beyond limitations is hidden a strong adventurous personality.

Initially a person having ambition of crossing over his limits gets to know his limitations one by one and when he crosses over these limits he is introduced to larger and still larger limitations much in the some manner as a person continues to advance farther and still farther in an endeavor to touch horizon.

Ignorance and brilliance; the bird and the nest; footprints in time

Those who are habitual of lying buried in the darkness of ignorance and feel comfortable like that are scared of the intensity of brilliance of knowledge and cannot bear with it.

Only a person who explodes the myth of protection of home and comes out in the open can earn strong self-confidence much like a bird who abandons the nest of his progenitors and flies high in the open sky. He develops confidence in the strength of his wings, and this confidence alone becomes a foundation stone of his self-confidence which prompts him that he is at liberty to fly at his will in this expansive sky. Though pleasant warmth of the nest, which he left pulls him backwards, but when he has already challenged himself to touch the infinite sky, what remains for him is only to fly faster and still faster, higher and still higher.

Those who have accepted the challenge of realizing their strength while facing this challenge, leave behind their foot prints upon the sands of time, while living their life in entirety, later when they aren’t here, but are elsewhere, and when they look behind perhaps they find that the world while observing the footprints that they have left behind, which they had imprinted at some point of the flow of time, is speechless and is thinking about those who left these footprints, who are though not present, but yet are being remembered for what they have left behind.

Rare find shailendrasharma.org/yoga/eternal-struggle — Wayback capture 8 Jun 2011. The date is from the capture record.

* * *

There is a deeper reality. When we realize that our consciousness goes down the limits of our body and we realize that we will continue to exist no matter if there is a body or no body. Then, the first feeling of compassion will enter your heart. And no matter if the body is no longer there.

That’s why this form of yoga says: develop your consciousness, so it will go beyond the limits of your body. Then only true compassion will come in your mind. And you will begin to respect the existence of everybody. And that instinct will go away: “I only must survive, everybody will die”. All the great dictators who created lot of massacres – like Hitler and others – were all afraid. They only wanted to survive themselves. That’s why they killed so many people. So you can say they were just being a sperm, no more than that. But as yogis, we overcome that instinct. We begin to value the real beauty of life only after that. Before that nobody is aware of the true beauty.

* * *

See Picasso’s painting or Michelangelo’s painting let’s say. If we analyze it through color, pigment, canvas, etc. what are we going to end up with? But the beauty expressed by it, that is reality. Pigment, canvas, stone – these are all ingredients. But the beauty which is being expressed there is a real thing. Now imagine if some bacteria or some insect falls in the paint that is used for the painting. The insect cries that it would be losing its life in the slime of paint. Yet still it remains a part of that painting and its beauty. In spite of the slime, it is a part of the beauty of the painting by Michelangelo or DaVinci. Similarly we are the insect that’s fallen in the paint of life but we are still a part of God’s beauty that’s life.

We are not able to comprehend it, that’s all. It is great. Creation is great. It’s a big deal. Do you get the idea of beauty? The insect in the paint is already a part of the painting’s beauty, even if it’s struggling in the paint as it spends its last few moments.

* * *

Q: What is beauty?

Sh: This is what we are trying to experience in totality. That’s why we are trying to expand our consciousness – so that we were at least able to see beauty, appreciate it and like it.

Q: Do you want to say that with developed consciousness we can see beauty everywhere and in everything?

Sh: Of course.

Q: Even in some ugly parts?

Sh: What ugly parts? You see even inside your body at this moment many murders are being committed. Do you realize that?

Q: Yes, bacteria for example are fighting…

Sh: Not only bacteria, your WBC are trying to kill all the viruses and bacteria which are attacking your body. There is a war going on. But we don’t care for that war.

Q: Till everything is balanced, we don’t care…

Sh: So, in the world a balance should exist as well. If there is no crime in the world, where will policemen earn money from?

Q: There will be no police departments.

Sh: If there is no police departments, then how those poor people will survive being unemployed?

Duality exists all over, from micro to macro. How is the devil looking at God? He will say: “God is the devil” and people who are on God’s side will say “the devil is the devil”. It is just a point of view, no more than that. For a criminal a policeman is a villain, for a policeman a criminal is a villain.
