There was a story of one fakir, who was supposed to be so powerful to be able to influence the planets. The king called him, showed him one planet or a star and asked to remove it. He said “Ok, I will just remove it”, but all the court continued to see that star twinkling in the sky and fakir was claiming: “Yes, I have erased this star from the sky”. Nobody believed him and he was beheaded by the emperor. And after 4 centuries after this incident scientists were looking with a big telescope into the sky and saw that the star was no longer there. Because for 4 centuries the light had been coming towards the Earth and people thought that they saw the star, but it was just a reflection on earth, that was coming to the Earth. So fakir actually removed that star. He was powerful enough to remove that star, but he was weak to remove the emperor. So what was the use? And the emperor was powerful enough to erase that fakir. That means: never show your wisdom in front of ignorant people, it may prove dangerous.

Shailendra: Everything in this world is temporary. Nothing is permanent. Even sadness. All the problems, happiness, satisfaction.

It is better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven. And you will agree ruling in hell is far more difficult than ruling heaven. Remember that.

I will say I will add one more thing. You may not be so important to the society in the world. You may be the most insignificant fellow but you are the hero of your life story. So for your story you are important than us.

STUPIDITY AND WISDOM

According to Sankhya yoga, Kapil Muni says that you recognize and eliminate different elements of what the world is made of or Creation is made of. As you will continue to eliminate, and when you've eliminated almost everything; what is standing there finally will be the Creator. So: this statement I just gave about stupidity is exactly dealing with Sankhya yoga: eliminating stupidity – then you’re becoming wiser.

APHORISMS

Q: what is yama? Guruji: yama means three hours. If you’re able to regulate and control your breath for three hours – then it can be called pranayama. And ayama means dimension also. There are two words: yama and ayama; pran-ayama means you begin to enter into the dimension of the prana. Then it will be called pranayama.

Who is miserable? Who is able to remain in miser all his or her life – he is really miserable.

Following the very strict discipline, daily routine, keeps you freedom from doing idiotic things.

I will say – the most important question person can ask to the God is: how are you? This is the very important question – because everybody is asking something from him; how many devotees and how many saints are saying – are you ok, sir? How are you? Maybe god will like it. Q: what if god is having a bad day today? Guruji: he’s not having a bad day – he may have bad millennium or bad century.

Only a man, who has lost his mind, can smile; only mad man can laugh: otherwise in such times who can effort the smile?

Sometimes it’s impossible – not to react, but try it. I’ve seen many times in social situation: we want to cut somebody’s nose and make him run naked on the main road – but we just smile and behave nicely. It requires more strength. And also fear of police(smiling)

Mother Earth is giving us absolutely for free – and we create business out of it. This is an effort to make something pure and fine.

“Putnik” came in only three days, I’ve not wrote the single poem before. And it sounds best in Russian: I’m putnik, be my sputnik. In no other language it sounds so poetic.

LIFE AND DEATH (DEFINITION ) Union of the spirit with the physical body – it is life, separation of spirit from physical body is called death. Union is life – separation is death.

This story will be fantastic for many – but it’s true story.

My elder sister got married – she was a professor in hindi literature. And my brother-in-law – he was senior engineer in one plant, which was built in Russian collaboration; it is about 30 hours journey from Gwalior. That was after marriage; I was taking my sister there, we went by train – and it was some service problem or something and my brother-in-law couldn’t come – so I went there. I was studying in high school then. When I was coming back – we couldn’t find the reservation so my brother-in-law just put me in one wagon without reservation and told me that when conductor come he will arrange some work for him. it was a reserved compartment but it was so crowded – it was something. My nature – I can rarely asked: sir, may I sit? Or something – you can call me arrogant or let’s say resolved person; I was just sitting on my attaché – but so full of crowd. There was boards, people were sleeping in that; and can you imagine young person sleepy more than old one? I just falling asleep every minute and cursing my brother-in-law also for his resettlement. I was very good at cursing from the beginning. Then about 3:30 or 4 o’clock in the night one lady, who was sleeping on top – she may have look at me, that young man is suffering; she was newly married and they were going to Delhi. She came down. And she just said – go and sleep on the top where I was. I answered that I’m ok, I’m fine – I was already very furious. She told me again – and I said: I told you, I’m ok here. Suddenly she became very emotional – it’s a touching story – and she show me: see, this is my husband, he is a navy officer. He was called in some emergency; in 71 the war wit Pakistan start – it was just before that. He has been called to report and we couldn’t find the proper reservation; they will go in first class or by air – and we were travel in the second class sleeper. He was sleeping there. We were just been married for 5-6 months; I was looking at you from my board and I couldn’t sleep. I was just imagining that I’m just been married, I may have children some day – maybe I will have a son; and looking at you I was thinking – suppose if my son were suffer like him, how he must be feel? Tears came into her eyes and she said – go and sleep there. I was speechless, I went up there and I got up about 12 o’clock in the noon time – I don’t know how she managed, I was just out. Then in the morning she introduced me to her husband, he was senior navy officer, with a beard and they offer me breakfast. I will say – she has left the fantastic memory and I realized: support of the woman is very important in anyone’s life.

APHORISMS

I’m saying that we listening for this for many years since we were children; that one should have simple living and high thinking. Okay, this is also good thing, but now I realized that it’s absolutely different thing: high living, but simple thinking. That means when a person has achieve some very high things, living standards – after that sometimes those very high living standard becomes very simple to him and then a very simple way of thinking starts. Because he already achieve – then only simple thinking will remain. We need to remember that.

We say in India that saint and rich man are almost same: because if you serve the saint – he will become happy and will bless you; and if you serve the rich man and he will become happy – he will give you money. Money is also big blessing from god. So they are same.

PROCESS OF UNDERSTANDING

He asked me a question and the answer I give is: when you eat food – it doesn’t digest instantly, but the process of digestion begin. Similarly, when you go through some great spiritual experience – you will not understand it immediately, but the process of understanding will begin with the experience. So we must have patience.

VEGETARIAN

I never said: stop smoking or stop drinking, nothing. Listen yourself and go on. That’s how progress happens. Absolutely natural – that’s the point.

so don’t try to force?

Guruji: no-no, just keep practicing regularly – everything will happen. When you will start respecting life – you will become vegetarian.

when I’m just sitting quietly – my mind is very quiet, but when I’m starting practice – every possible thoughts are coming to me, why?

Guruji: it is like cleaning the room after the very long time: dust will fight, then it will settle down.

There was a rich man, he had a servant, who was following his master’s orders to the tip. One time his young son started to cry – he wanted to make shit; so he told the servant – take him, he want to make shit. Because the order was for shit servant make him sit and said: you shit – but not urine should come, because the order was for shit. Master was ordered only for shit! He was threatening the child, and child began to cry; and he said: Master, he is not doing anything – but he is crying. Oh, break his head! – and the servant took the stick and broke his head. Following orders also requires that you must be intelligent enough. Having common sense is one thing, but being nonsense is nothing. I think it’s a very wise story. It’s very famous story in our villages.

You must have enough sense to catch the essence of the order. Otherwise the results will not be good. From another point of view this servant was trying to take revenge from that master for some grudge – which master was not aware of, so he just hang on to the words and did exactly what he was saying. That is another aspect of the story.

Does shame exist for old sinners?

Guruji: Only if he is caught. Otherwise no. Because he’s wise now.

YOU NEVER KNOW

…she was very happy, because she found possible husband and she was trying to make a home in one piece of dirt. She was very happy and she was discussing with the grasshopper: that I will make a home and all this things happen and I will love him, he will love me, we will have so many children, we will have the big colony in future. And one grasshopper telling her: but I saw – I was flying to somewhere and I saw that there was something very long and when the sun was going down, the light was running on top. Then ant begin to argue it is not possible, it cannot be like this; he was just trying to describe a lamp booster.

She said: don’t disturb my mind, I’m just waiting for my friend and make a nest with him. suddenly the whole ground begin to shake; they think what’s happening? And suddenly the big shadow was seen, they were crushed under something and they were no more. And before one other ant was saying: your lover was running away with another ant – and she was crying, why god this happened? And suddenly ground begin to shake, something crushed them and that was their death. From other point of view: the school was done, children was running crossing the ground – and one child crushed them, that was the end of their lives. So amazing: our world is also like this: you never know.

WISDOM

Chanakya said it and I’ve read it 55 plus years back: there are only three most expensive jewels in this creation: food, water and sweet words. Idiots considers stones as jewels. I agree with him absolutely.

WISE ANT

what is the best idea about education?

Guruji: you should learn everything about your past also; then you should also become aware of the present situation, what you’re represent. Then give your contribution for the better future.

so education should prepare us to…?

Guruji: without knowing your past how you will know what is good and what is bad? You’re actually sharing the experience of so many people, who accumulated all these records. Yourself simply cannot do it everything alone. I will quote Babaji here: be wise like an ant: if there is sugar and sand together he takes only the sugar and leaves the sand. This is the big mixture of education; so take the best and leave the rest.

LAZY PERSON WILL ATTAIN LIBERATION

The question came: that many people are doing many difficult tapas and following extreme discipline to rise above karma; and my simple observation is: a lazy person is the luckiest of lucky person, who is so lazy to do anything:

he is just lying down doing nothing: he is also beyond karma.

I think most of the lazy persons will attain liberation. Think on that!

GREED

Greed, gives us great inspiration to achieve most difficult things. Because we are greedy!

A tree can never outgrow its roots. No matter how high you go in your life – you roots will always remain inside. No one outgrows them. They will keep giving you nourishment: we just need to keep that in mind.

IMPOSSIBLE THINGS

You know that famous story of Nasretdin?

He claimed that he could make any donkey a man. There was one rich man, but he was not too smart –and he said ok, I have a donkey which I love very much – can you make him a man? How much it will cost? – only 10000 dinars; so give me in advance and a donkey – it will take 20 years. Then the rich man became to worry – how it is generally possible? After 20 years what will happen? He said don’t worry: in 20 years either this donkey will die or that man will die or I will die – so let’s enjoy 10000 dinars. Then after 20 years that man was still alive and Nasretdin was also alive and the donkey was sold; and the man asked – where is my donkey? He answered: you don’t know? I’ve made him a man and he became educated so much so he became the main wiseman of the city – see? Go, go. He said – o my donkey, you’re so great now. – you bastard, you called me a donkey! And the clash begins. That means: smart man can get out of any situation.

So, I think, this brief introduction is enough now. As you will progress, you will learn more and more and more. And I will just quote Robert Frost here, a very famous British poet:

" Woods are dark and deep

yet miles to go before I sleep."

Guruji: actually it is very interesting to talk about power, but to go all the way to achieve power is very difficult and very troublesome. Talking is good. You like to see heroes and follow the hero, but who wants to be a hero? It’s too much worries.

If you will not have any ambition – then why you will work?

What is the need for hard work – until unless you are a slave?

Slaves have no ambitions. And they work hard and get punishment for nothing.

If you want to progress in anything – you must have something in your ambition.

You must have a dream to follow! Otherwise – what you will do?

closed-eyed people; sometimes we try to open them. Most of us pass through life

with closed eyes. We need to open them from time to time.

are 2 type of blind people: one who are physically blind, and others who are mentally

blind. World is full of them.

Here in the grassroots level they say: the person, who deceives the Guru and also deceives the friend either become the blind or a leper. This is grassroots level wisdom.

If a rat will find a piece of turmeric – he will think he owns a mall . It is the definition of arrogance and feel very proud.

Not everybody should become a bridegroom: there should be people who will follow him to the marriage, support him. Not everybody should becoming a hero: what is the hero without an audience?

When people hear that I’ve been practicing Kriya yoga for 42 years and they think I’m not normal, I’m extraordinary; but I keep telling them – in the beginning I was thinking I’m a normal person. After 42 years of very regular practice, now, I have begun to be a little normal. So, you think and you also do something to become normal.

QUALITY OF THE DIAMOND

When you polish a diamond and cut it from different angles and create an angles in it,

it improves the brilliance of the diamond; but it’s basic nature was already a diamond.

So, you cannot polish a coal or any other thing and convert into a diamond. The quality should be there from the beginning; but with enough handy work, intelligent work, you can make them brilliant, like a diamond.

STORY 1

Never ask the brahmin how that you will satisfy him whatever he desires. Always remain careful.

One story connected with Jaswant Singh: you see the wit of the brahmin here. He sent one of his ministers in Mathura, Mathura is a holy place. He told him – just find a good brahmin and feed him whatever he desires till he is absolutely satisfied. The minister came to Mathura, find a big brahmin – those days brahmins were very big and they were also eating bhang ad their average bodyweight were from 150 to 200 kilos. That minister said – the king has order me to feed you, fill you up whatever you want to your satisfaction. Brahmin said: think again! But it was king’s order. And brahmin said: now feed me with….what, you know? The thin layer which appears over a puri by frying. He said – you fill me up with this thin layer, just this very thin thing. He began to eat; and from morning to evening – he was not satisfied. Then minister touched his feet and said: please, forgive me and give him 1000 coins and said – please, let me go. Brahmin said – ok, go, but you asked me! It is my choice.

From a yogi's point of view, real freedom is when everything is coming to you absolutely for freedom. That is freedom.

Raja Jogi Aganijal Inki Ulti Reet, Darte Rahiyo Parashraam Ye Thodi Rakte Priet It's so happened that Parashraam was very disturbed and he found the brother of Rasputi Jupiter, somewhere living in Banaras. He guided him to the Tatre and he told this thing. Raja yogi aganjal in ki ulti reed darte raiyo parashraani thodi ratti that means a king, a yogi fire and water they have very strange ways because they have very little affection so deal very carefully with them

you cannot live without fire you cannot live without water but when the time comes fire will burn you water will drown So a king, as long as he is okay, everything is good. If he becomes angry, no head remain. With yogis also, if their mood is okay, everything is good. Otherwise, we don't know what nature will do. So remain careful. That's the moral of this thing. Thank you.

This world is of temporary nature, even sin and virtue, devotion, evil, everything is temporary by nature. Study that, go forward.

Well, I am very afraid nowadays to say that let's be human, because I see that only human beings are doing the most cruelest of the cruel thing, just for profit and out of jealousy and just to prove their power. And I will say cruelty is not bravery. Only most unhuman things are seen done by human beings. So I am very afraid to say be human. I will just say be good. Thank you.

See, I will put my hand in it so I will not hurt you. And just see. Because you cannot step back, you will fall on the chair. Whenever you are facing a situation, always look around and be sure there is enough space behind you to step back. If there is no space behind you to step back, you will fall. And this principle will apply in every weight of your life. Take care.

I want to talk about freedom. For this. As a graspable man, my observation is, nothing comes for free, even your will. You have to pay a very heavy price for a very devil with father. Be ready for that. Yeah.

No rains, nothing. So some people decided to do a yagya for invoking the rains. Big crowd gathered, but only one child was having faith. Only that child took umbrella with him. He was sure it would rain because there's so much thing is going on. Having faith is good. It saves you from time to time.

They say that it is a surprise for many people that a strong man cannot be soft. But the real strength, let’s say, about steel, is measured by its tensile strength, the ability to bend under stress. Remains brittle and fails. So the real strength lies in softness.

Brightness of the sun, which for a lay observer is blazing, is also the cause of illuminating the moon. Those alone, who can bear with the intense brilliance of knowledge and can reflect it, appear cool like a moon in this world. But remember the coolness is but a scaled down form of brilliance of knowledge. One who emits light must burn. That the moon is chosen to reflect light of the sun by its grace is an observation of earthlings. Truth is that the sun is shining, blazing with the brilliance of his own knowledge, it completely overlooks whether its brilliance is being reflected or not by anybody. The modest moon, which cannot hold even a minute part of its brilliance, only reflects it; may appear to be emitting moonlight to be a casual observer with narrow vision.

Those who can realize the burning of the sun in his intense self-earned brilliance know that the life of a realized person is also like burning in the fires of wisdom.

Ultimate beauty can be grasped by realizing the beauty in frightfulness and by applying it gracefully.

Heart touching compassion springs up only when attraction for physical touch is over.

In my style I shall live,

In my manner I shall breathe,

Free to live the way I like.

Forced to live not its way

A plant also dies out

Forced to live not it’s way

A man is ruined too.

Everybody who is born on this earth is one in millions. It is not easy to imagine how competitive it was to be born. The competitions later faced during lifetime, are nowhere as fierce as the one for taking a birth.

Millions of almost identical sperms raced for taking birth, and everyone amongst the racers knew that the winner alone would take birth; the laggards will all perish.

We all are here after winning such race at our level. But lo and behold, we yet do not realize the importance of this hard earned human life. Should we fritter away such precious gift or should we harness this opportunity, which has fortunately come our way to make our life meaningful. Those who could imagine a wee bit about the competition of birth, made great efforts, conducted several experiments, performed penance, developed various schools of thought (which we call as Shastras) in order to attain totality! All this because it was so difficult to win this competition even once and even a thought of winning it time and again is almost impossible. For this reason we all who are born after winning this great competition, should not fritter away this great opportunity and develop ourselves in totality so that we no more need to participate in this competition.

Humming of expression of a rejected person begets same attention as a birdsong against the tumult of drums, and people ignore it even if it is heard. Those who shield themselves by their arrogance care little for the wounds of others urges. This is perhaps why all efforts are made to ignore every great expression but alas they are not aware that when the spear of inspiration blows, what flows from it is embraced by time, and is also embellished by time itself. Oh! Look at the vexation of those who ignore these expressions, their own progeny bows before these expressions. Those who can see might see; those who can understand, might understand that this statement of mine has an approval of history.

First introduction causes recognition; last introduction is the result of knowing.

If you find experience that is generally associated with old age, together with the innocence of childhood, you surely are meeting a sage.

Far-reaching decisions are always taken in youth, after growing old one is so much tied up by petty decisions of the past that one in no longer capable of taking big decisions.

When truth springs up in the heart, there is no field in which success is remote.

A person should stand up like a wall across a road to failure, then only he will succeed.

The more the questions posed to a person, the higher grows his ability to answer.

Imagination is always more enticing or more frightful than the reality.

When relations are carried on rather unwillingly, it is clear that their end to imminent.

There is no path in the world, which does not take those treading upon it to some-where.

You cannot help distressed people by being yourself in distress. When a person identifies all causes of his distress and distances himself from them, then only he is capable of giving some comfort to a distressed person. Unless he is not himself established in peace he cannot tell others to be peaceful.

Everybody has the capacity to think big and even bigger, but the prowess to materialize these thoughts is rarely found.

One who has never committed a sin can never understand holiness. It is difficult to identify great people without having ever interacted with wicked people. And yet if you desire to become great yourself you have to cleanse your mind of the filth of wickedness.

When a man is advancing according to his nature; he is closer to emancipation.

One who receives commands feels how comfortable his commander must be. But perhaps he cannot estimate the fight for reaching the stage of issuing commands as well as the responsibility and dutifulness behind every command.

Now a days we are living in an age when dishonesty is practiced with total honestly and adulteration in every substance is at its purest form, and lies are spoken with complete truthfulness, which are true only in the form of falsehood.

Those who are advancing slowly can never keep company with those who are advancing fast. When one begins to advance faster and while advancing when it reaches the limit of beatitude he finds that those who started with him, due to their slowness no one knows when and where they were left behind. Those who slowed down themselves to keep their company out of attachment beget only frustration and circumvention. A person needs to put in great efforts to attain the totality of advancement and be established there by overcoming all hindrances.

No body is recognized in the history for his riches. People can be recognized only for their acts.

Conferred attachment is called delusion.

While again and again explaining to the people, I have realized that unless one doesn’t grow realistic enough to realize his non-realization it seems not possible to explain him anything. From the moment I realized this I prefer to keep mum. While realizing this you get to feel that ‘look, how nonrealistic is realization, that it is not realistic enough to realize even itself’.

It is necessary to remain attached somewhere for experiencing the height of life much in the same way as the string of the kite allows it to kiss the heights of sky only as long as it is attached with somebody. No sooner than this connection breaks, it falls down upon the ground.

When wrongs are committed time and again; the life also goes the wrong way.

Bondage is a must for maintaining existence.

All over the history so far, crimes are committed the most in the history of democracy only.

Crime in one such word or an imaginary vice which is despicable when found in others but one would rationalize the same and even nurture within him.

Self styled sentimental and grace-admiring people are often found to be aggrieved because grace was outraged or because ugliness came to the fore, and this was done and was witnessed being done. Attention should also be given to other facet of this and they should realize that what appears on plain observation may look like grace being destroyed, but destruction also has its own grace. What is called as grace is merely a thought and thought is comprehended when one realizes that whatever until then was being considered as grace was limited by the limitations of word and vision. The real understanding of grace is born only upon rising above the limitations of word and vision. In my opinion, there is nothing in this universe, which is not graceful.

People take refuge behind massive reasoning to justify their limitations.

It does not seem possible to understand the dynamics of life without first understanding the statics of death.

Knowledge of ultimate spirit begins after knowing the soul. Ultimate spirit means knowing the ultimate divinity of one’s soul.

Most of the indolent people who are living a disoriented life are mentally at par with those eunuchs who reach wherever celebrations are going on just for clapping.

It makes no difference as to what misfortunes we suffered. While selecting the right path for our life tears, obstacles illusions of joy, everything disappears without leaving any mark and a person who pours his heart upon some pages of paper along the impassable path of journey of life be certain that he surely will leave his footprints. Perhaps the meaning of life is implied only in leaving footprints.

Pain of not getting success causes disinterest from life to many people. But they should understand that although they were not successful in what they desired to do, but success her fully embraced them in becoming unsuccessful. They have been fully successful in scoring various kinds of failures in life.

Only after tasting position can one realize the value of nectar.

Paths never allow those who traverse upon them to become slack. No sooner than the traveler buries himself in thoughts, an abstractive stroke alerts him to tread alertly towards his goal.

Future is what but an expansion of present.

You need to work hard. Put enough effort and ambition to become powerful enough and achieve anything. If something exist in your imagination it existing somewhere. Anything is possible. All that you have – your food, your clothes, your house – some time before it was a part of imagination and took a great power to make it real. Everything starts from the imagination of the mind. I think it’s an idea of creator or society to make your mind busy every time. Otherwise the empty mind could create the absolute dangerous situation.

As a yogi I will say: it doesn’t matter to me, what society or the world is thinking about me. The society or the world should worry, about what I’m thinking about it.

You know the difference between the saint and the sinner? The saint has no past and the sinner has no future.

I’ve never asked for forgiveness from anybody. And I’ve not forgive anyone.

(I’ve never asked for forgiveness from anybody, because I’ve never do harm to anyone. And why I should forgive someone who did harm to me. I never initiate fight from my side, but I m always answer well.)

Everybody makes mistakes. Sometimes mistakes even might to be good entertainment. But only the fool makes one mistake twice.
