Twilight language
What is the "Twilight language" found in some texts, in which ancient yogi's used to talk to each other ? The first use of Twilight language(Sandhya Bhasha) is found in the conversation of ancient Nath yogis. Sandhya Bhasha is also called Twilight Language in English. Twilight is considered to be a very magical time. Twilight is a time when the sun has set, but still it's not completely dark. At Twilight time, no matter who the person is, he doesn't cast a shadow. So at that time ghosts or people who do not cast a shadow like jinns, they also come out.
They come out without the fear that someone will recognize them. The point of view of the yogis on Twilight Language (Sandhya Bhasha) is that on whose subject there is no shadow of the past, On their knowledge and what they are speaking, that is their own experience. That language is called the Twilight language. because we see that whatever we talk about, we talk about it on the basis of our past knowledge of the subject When we know or understand something on the basis of past experience or memory. This is called Re-Cognition. But when the mind becomes suitable for Twilight language, then it is called Cognition. Knowing without any shadow of the past. So this language is called Twilight language because there is no imprint of any past memory or history on them.
Whatever they are saying, is on the basis of their own experience and on the basis of their identity. This situation is called Twilight language There are many such dialogues between Gorakhnath and Matsyendranath which are said to be in Twilight Language (Sandhya Bhasha) only. Gorakh Bodh is a unique example of this. Everyone should read it.

English machine transcript of the video: formless and with-form, nirgun and sagun, as matters of acquaintance and information
Sakar and Nirakar Sagun and Nirgun Whom we haven't seen, whom we don't know He is formless(Nirakar) to us. Whom we have seen, to whom we are introduced, it became (Sakar) with-form for us. This is the only differance between Sakar and Nirakar. I'll add one more thing here. Big controversies have been going on Sagun and Nirgun too, for a long time. It's very simple. If we are not familiar with the qualities of someone, then he is Nirgun for us. When we become familiar with someone's qualities, then what seemed like Nirgun earlier, now starts to feel like Sagun. It is a matter of information and awareness. You should also contemplate on it. ]

English machine transcript of the video: pralaya as coming specially into rhythm — Shiva the dancer restores creation's harmony without weapons or the third eye
Meaning of Pralaya - Apocalypse The meaning of the word Pralaya (Apocalypse), Usually we consider a terrible meaning It is believed that the destruction of the world is about to take place. Shivji will do Tandav, everything will be destroyed. But the word "Pralay" means to come in rhythm specially. When the rhythm of the creation of the world gets disturbed and there is disharmony Then Shiva, whom we call dancer("Nartak") in Sanskrit, also has one name, dancer("Nartak"). He performs the Tandava dance to restore the disturbed rhythm of creation. So that the world again becomes rhythmic and Naad which was the initial sound or music, from Omkar that may be restored. He doesn't use any divine weapon,
nor does he burn everyone by opening his third eye. He dances. So that the disharmonious rhythm of the world is restored, that's why Shiv dances retunes the world to its original harmony. This is Pralaya(Apocalypse).

Raja, Kriya and karma yoga distinguished
Are Raj Yog, Kriya Yog and Karm Yog Synonym words ? Kriya Yog word actually comes in Yoga Darshan which was written by Patanjali Maharaj. Kriya Yog is practiced only by those who want to attain Samadhi and want to develop their brain capabilities to 100 percent.

BHAGAVAD GITA – BOOK ON YOGA
Gita as yoga, society and communication, contextual logic, friendship and fear
SAMSARA - MEANING
sometimes we create misunderstandings if telling the truth?
Guruji: we should be intelligent enough to know: to say or not to say. Communicate like we’re doing here. If you will always say whatever is coming to your mind – it will create so many problems. When you feel that you should cut that man’s nose and kick him - you should smile and say: it was very nice meeting you. This is social behaviour.
That is some hidden message in ancient texts – that is for sure.
it’s not only logic working there?
Guruji: what Kapil Muni says: logic is never proved. Because you will put forward another logic, someone will give the stronger logic – that’s it. Logic can not be proved. This is written in Sankhya darshan, very ancient philosophical book of India. Dark asit dahar: logic cannot be proved.
but all our science is build on logic?
Guruji: yes. And they are saying: our theory is not right, we’re giving you the new one.
was it ever in history that the science was based on wisdom, not only logic?
Guruji: that’s why it’s called metaphysics – not physics. We’re students of metaphysics.
unfortunately now the companies are looking only for people who can prove anything based only on logic; it’s not very good trend?
Guruji: for general society it’s ok. They’re providing work – so they will remain busy. Humanity needs to remain busy. That’s why somebody very wise created business. Look at the spelling of “business” busy – ness. You will remain busy in something. Otherwise – what we will do?
what do You think: business is a synonym to samsara?
Guruji: busy-ness: to remain busy in something.
and what is the meaning of samsara?
Guruji: samsara means this world, whatever you see. It’s a very big thing: if you look at the word “samsara”: Sa – is one of the names of Shiva. And when you put a dot on it: Sam - it becomes a seed mantra of Shiva. “Sar” means “essence”. “Samsara “ means “essence of Shiva”. First time I think about it: that is samsara! If you will understand that – you will become a wiseman.
it can be also applied to Samadhi?
Guruji: sam adhi: when your conscious and unconscious becomes same – that is Samadhi.

SATTVA RAJAS TAMAS SAMADHI
Experiencing samadhi we have to go through tamas, rajas and sattwa?
Guruji: No. You just have to go through yoga, properly and thoroughly. In Yoga Darshan sattwa, rajas and tamas are not even discussed. It’s a one-point program. In any yoga book — ancient books — except in Gita — sattwa, rajas and tamas nowhere mentioned. In all Gorakhnath books — no, in Hatha Yoga Pradipika — no.
The question — why?
Guruji: Because we are doing something very practical instead of discussing its philosophical aspect. And when your brain will develop, your consciousness will develop — you will exactly understand what is sattwa, what is rajas and what is tamas. Without enough of understanding you keep on discussing these words; yogis were very practical people.
Then why in Gita it is stressed so much?
Guruji: It’s a mystery: it is a sort of the symbol for Hindus now. Not for now — even for centuries. And it’s a book on yoga: we need to remember that. Sattwa, rajas and tamas are discussed only after you have realized the Universal Form and you have understood what is devotion — then.
And you need to remember: Arjun was a world champion warrior, Krishna was the mightiest being on Earth that time and married 16,000 times: it was a discussion of very high level people. Arjun himself was married several times.
We can start a new cult: to understand Gita you need to marry many-many times (smiling) — this is a pre-condition for understanding.
There are many stories like men were clean their bodies, then shaking trying to go to samadhi, not eating…
Guruji: Then samadhi and death are synonyms in Sanskrit. So in a very cultural way when some old person is dying we say “he is in samadhi”. It is a cultural thing, language thing. It’s a good manner: we don’t say “he dies” — “he is in samadhi”. That’s why I keep telling: try to find out all the meanings of particular word — like “tantra” or “samadhi”.
They are being used nowadays without the understanding of a true meaning. I’ve been discussing this word “samadhi” maybe for the last more than 40 years now: still conclusion is not in sight.

I guess somewhere they compare Videha mukti and jivan mukti.
Oh, these are scholarly things and which will lead to great confusion.
Why nobody says Mrityu mukti? That is the real Moksha.
They say that he attained liberation while living.
Aha, okay.
But if you go literal translation, Jivan Mukti means liberated from life.
From that point of view, only vampires are Jivan Mukti.

SADHU! SADHYA! SADHAN! SADHAK!
In the ancient times when you can do something really incredible and extraordinary, very outstanding, people were saying: sadu, sadu! – means wow, fantastic, amazing! In Sanskrit they say: sadhu, sadhu! So when a person is trying for self-realization or grace of god or to see the god face to face, when he is powerful – whatever capable to do; then it will be appreciating by society and they will say: sadhu, sadhu! The name “sadhu” means “who is doing something great” – that is sadhu.
I think the word is left but the meaning is changing?
Guruji: this is what humanity does.
what is the meaning of word “sadhya”?
Guruji: sadhya – what you want to perfect; then sadhana – the way for it; then sadhu. Sadhya-sadhan-sadhu, it’s a link.
and who is sadhak?
Guruji: sadhak is who is doing sadhana, person, who is trying to do that.

Yoga, abhyasa and vairagya definitions
YOGA ABHYASA VAIRAGYA - DEFINITIONS
He asked me: what is yoga? So I answered in a very simple way: yoga literally means union. Union between your spirit and your mind is called yoga. This is the simplest and direct definition in my opinion.
how do You feel the present moment?
Guruji: I’m not too much in philosophical things: I feel the moment of present like everybody feels. I’m a simple man and I’m very happy to remain simple.
what that terms “abhyasa”and “vairagya” means?
Guruji: abhyasa means constant practice. And vairagya, if you will go into this word deeply: that means when you’re gone beyond anger absolutely – that is the state of vairagya. “rag” means the mode of music and that also means when you’re gone beyond the sound and reached the source – that also is called “vairagya”. In bengali language “rag” means anger, so that means you go beyond the emotion of anger – that is also vairagya.

Lost in translation — half-truth, anuvad and Banamali Lahiri
LOST IN TRANSLATION
If you remember Hitler – his propaganda system: the power of half-truth is much more than power of real truth. Even lie, if it had repeated 5 hundred times – it will appear larger than the truth. So don’t go much on the commentaries, read the original texts and literal translations – and draw your own conclusion. Or talk to me(laughing). Very open-minded discussion is needed from time to time. Most of the translations are not accurate – but they will give you the general idea. Just analyze the word “translation” – I think it explains everything. Translation means that you should have capacity to go into trans when you’re reading something and understand the meaning what that person is trying to say – then express it in your memory. That is the real sense of translation.
English is not so poor, like everybody is saying?
Guruji: I think no language is poor. Every language is very rich in its own way: you just need to catch the essence, what the person is trying to say, and only in trans it may possible. In hindi it is called anuvad: anu means an atom; that means whatever you’re reading – you go to the subatomic level of what he’s trying to say – only then you will be able to translate it. Otherwise it will be mistranslation. And the power of mistranslation is more than the real one – or even of original thing.
everyone here understands what You say in different meanings
Guruji: it will be always like that, because what I’m saying - I’m saying from different level, and you’re listening to that from different level so often it will be the misunderstanding. My friend – grand grandson of Lahiri Mahasya, Banamali Lahiri, used to say: when the author is writing something, reader is reading something – he will understand only if he is on equal mental level as author – only then the understanding will take place. Otherwise there will always be misunderstanding. I agree with him. But we should read – it will remain in the back of your head and one day you will understand suddenly.
I’ve noticed that the questions maybe the same every day – but You give different answers to different persons?
Guruji: you see, it’s a very different thing. One question will have thousand answers, depending on the person. Every truth will have thousands of angles – but it will be same. It was one very good question – if god is one, why we’re calling him in different names? She was babushka and I say to her: you’re a woman, but your husband calling you the different name, your father maybe calling you the different name, your brother – different, lover – different, your son, your grandson – all of them will call you the different name; but you’re one and the same – that’s how. But it’s not the easy thing to make babushka or dedushka understand something.

Interview with Guruji
Omkar and Thokar — a mistranslation
here is the interesting place from Lahiri Mahasaya’sdiaries: he is comparing Omkar and Thokar Kriyas: if you will practice with the force or with the efforts the Omkar Kriya – which is look like Thokar Kriya, the obstacle, which is blocked in anahata chakra – will go, and anahata will be free? Only then the mystical access will remove all ignorance?
Guruji: this is not a right translation. In Hindi and Sanskrit it is different: when the heart is open - then all your doubts and everything is clear. And Thokar means to kick also: when you’re changing your breath and hit your heart with the prana – then this thing will come to pass. Thokar is kicking also. But they named the Kriya after it. It’s a misinterpretation. If you stumble on the way – it is also thokar lage. You kick – thokarlagae. It’s a common slang. It doesn’t mean that you have toname the particular Kriya as Thokar kriya. But many people, because they don’t understand the depth of the subject, - so these things start. A good kick will always make you sober.
It's a matter of understanding. If you try to do literal translation – it will be a mistranslation.

Ishwar
The word Ishwar and the word Bhagavan
and what is the conception of the word Ishwar? Not to translate but to explain?
Guruji: Ishwar – who is the lord of all, and if you bring it at Isha and war- Isha means the most prosperous woman which maybe Mother Earth, so who is the male principle of Earth.
It is my thinking. You’ll not find anything like this, written in dictionaries. Usually this word is used directly to Shiva. In any purana whatever you read when Shiva is speaking, it is written – Ishwar vach.” And Ishwar said”. And wherever Shri Krishna or Vishnu are talking - they say Shri Bhagavan vach. “Bhagavan said”. That is the main difference here. And most of the devatas from heaven – they are called by their name: Indra vach, Agneya vach, Vayu vach- “ Indra said”, “ fire god said “ – it is like that.

Vishnu also means empty space; and if you read 1000 names of Shiva – it is also one of the names of Shiva as well. But you can define it as attaining the consciousness of the Void.

Tyaga — refusal of ignorance, not of things
“tyaga” is always translated like refuse of the fruit of karma. And Shiva is called MahaTyageshwar. But I think – he’s supreme immortal being who even don’t do any karma.
Guruji: in my opinion, the greatest tyaga is refuse of absolute ignorance and foolishness. This is the real tyaga. Not refuse of some material things; tyaga is duraksness. They were saying these things from the very high perspective. So tyaga of your limitations, tyaga of your bondage, of your ignorance, tyaga of your foolishness – in my opinion is the real tyaga.
the greatest sin of a yogi is ignorance?
Guruji: yes, that’s why we are practicing yoga: develop our consciousness, so the ignorance is gone. But the biggest achievement of anybody’s life – become aware of his own ignorance. If you don’t become aware – you could do nothing with it.

The mystical number 108 and the shivaganas
what can you say about mystical number 108?
Guruji: if you look all over the world – you find these numbers: 108, 216, 432 found everywhere. And also human’s breathe is 21600 times in 24 hours – that means in 12 hours he will breathe 10800 times. And if we take the north mythology – there are 432 seats and 432 cups for nectar in Valhalla. That means – it is very mystical number. Somebody write very deep and mysterious message for us by these numbers. Who will decode it – will understand the great mystery and achieve certain power. The more I read about all these things – more I believe in Kriya yoga technics. It is the long journey but it takes us very high.
so more we are practicing – more we are in tune with these numbers?
Guruji: remember, Shiva is Time. He started the calculation of Time by making Kala Bhairav appear; Kala Bhairav means the ruler of the Time. From that moment the calculation begin. And Shiva has shivaganas; and in Sanskrit and hindi calculation is called ganana – it is directly connected with shivaganas. All these numbers are actually shivaganas, because they help you calculate everything – no matter, no limit, as much as you want.
ganas are numbers?

In ancient times luck was a very rare phenomena so they hadn't even created a special word for it?
Guruji: They were not so lucky. Just try to imagine – how they survive for millions of years without mobile, without net, without social media? (smiling) We’re more lucky. You go to any ancient place- for example to any castle all over the world: you will never see a toilet there. There is no toilet in Egyptian pyramids or in South American ancient buildings, in caves or anywhere; even in Rome – no toilet. How did they survive without toilets? Yes, baths were there.
What is the reason?
Guruji: We should do some research on that (laughing) again – take any castles, pyramids or forts: there's no ancient hospital, nowhere. How were they surviving?
When the doctor does something and the patient survives – then the patient says that “god saved me”. When the doctor gives him a bill – then he says “oh god, save us from doctors”.

Q : what is the real meaning of the word Bhagawan?
Guruji : the common meaning which is taken in most of the books: “bhaga” means aishwari – every kind of capacity, ability, prosperity; who has this may be called Bhagawan. The definition goes like this. Bhagawan can do what any man can do, any being in this creation can do – he can do that. That is called “kartum”. “Akartum” – which no being is capable of doing – he can do it, that is akartum. “Anyathakartum” – means besides these two things if something remains – he can do that also. That is the definition of Bhagawan or avatar.

Heading and the origin of the word rakshasa
THE ORIGIN OF WORD RAKSHASA
Most of the ancient books depicts different layers of creation. And I need to inform you, that most of the rakshasa were brahmins. Rakshasa, daitya, danavas – they were all brahmins, created by the creator himself. This word “rakshasa” – I will tell you the story, because we need to clarify something. The general impression is very wrong. Out of Brahma one being were created: and they were so hungry - they wanted to eat the creator. And they say “bhaksh, bhaksh” in Sanskrit – it means eat, eat him. They become yakshas. Another being, which came with them – they say no, protect him, “raksha, raksha”. They were called rakshasa: rakshasa means who protects. But now all the pandits and preachers changed the meaning absolutely.

The husband-wife line and paksha as the wings of Time
A husband knows that he’s 100% right – and he’s saying to his wife: my dear, you’re right and I’m wrong.
what is the right translation of the word “paksha”?
Guruji: “paksha” means a wing, because in hindi and also in Sanskrit bird is called “pakshi”- because it has two wings. Same way in a month we also have two wings, two paksh: Shukla paksha and Krishna paksha, different states of the moon. And with those wings Time flies.

What dharma is; society's expectations
What exactly is dharma? Is it something that is determined by your birth? In Bhagavad Gita we read that Krishna says: ‘do your dharma without attachment to the fruits of it and do what is ordinary to you without attaching to the fruits of your actions’. What is dharma? How does one reach the state where they are not attached to the fruits of actions?
A: It’s a very important question. And if you analyze the word dharma, it literally means “which carries you through”. If you translate it, “dhara” is the dharma it’s a Sanskrit definition of dharma, in English it will sound ‘which carries you through’. So there are so many things which are actually carrying us through. Our career is carrying us through so whatever are the requirements of your career are, you need to fulfill them. Then there are different responsibilities which you are carrying, you are dharma to your responsibilities, so you need to fulfill them. And whatever responsibilities you are taken willingly like your family or society, your friends, you should take good care of them as well, that is also part of the dharma. Dharma here doesn’t literally mean a religion. Dharma is which ‘carries you through’ or whatever you carry on your shoulders.
Should we consider society’s expectation as part of our dharmas?
A: Well, we are living in society and society is providing quiet a lot to us, so we just remain to be very careful that whatever our actions are, they not actually harming society or disturbing society. That much is enough.

Illusion or illumination — the same root and the temple of the head (continued)
Guruji: illusion and illumination – the root is the same. Only with illumination the illusion comes; illumination is the flow of light, and what we see – is only reflection of it. Illusion starts with the illumination. I never thought about it before – but I think it fits. Some English words are very good: this is called temple( part of the head ): and inside the temple god lives.

PRAKRITI, PURUSH, GUNAS.
Bali is not sacrifice; bhakti is not devotion
I think that word “sacrifice” is not the synonym of the word “ bali”. sacrifice is something you give up to something, but BALI IS LIKE OFFERING.
I think we should think more on the translation, which are largely used – but they create some confusion in everybody. We just have discussion about Krishna’s devotee; the word “bhakti” is not synonym for the word “devotion”, make it very clear in your mind.
what is the difference?
Guruji: “bhakt” means – you have been separated. Out of the pang of separation you want to meet a person again: that feeling is bhakti.
Devotion is different. You’re devoted to making money. There are several words which are not exactly translation of these things. My point is: we’re unknowingly using these words without knowing and understanding their implication. First we have to make things very clear in our mind – that will increase our understanding of the subject.
that is very interesting meaning of bhakti
Guruji: that is the genuine meaning.
You cannot become a bhakt simply by becoming a member of certain organization.
We should find the true meaning of what they were trying to say. Simply learning hindi is not enough, you must think on that more deeply.
OUT OF THE PANGS OF SEPARATION THE LOVE IS DISCOVERED or let’s say BHAKTI is discovered.
I will give you very simple example from Gita, the main book for all yogis. You go through all yoga, you realize death in 8 th chapter; then you begin to understand all different powers and vibhuti of the Time; then you actually see Time face to face in 11 th chapter. Then from 12 th chapter bhakti is discussed, not before that.
We need to think on that.

QUOTE FROM CHANAKYA
Isha and Ishwar
ISHA AND ISHWAR
We go through the Isha Upanishad: the word ISHA means the most prosperous or the richest Woman. That is Mother Earth!
And Ishwar is the husband of the most prosperous Woman. This means Ishwar is living in the heart of Isha herself. And as our body belongs to her, our body is called the earthly body.
That’s why Ishwar is living in our hearts.
So, remember this!

SADHANA
MEDITATION OR DHYAN — dhyana, the 7th achievement
MEDITATION OR DHYAN
The word “meditation” is not the exact translation of the word “dhyana”, which is the 7 th achievements of yoga. Dhyana is achieved when you have mastered your body, you have mastering your breath and by the mastering the breath, the pranayamas, your normal intellect has become superintellect – pragya.
And then the pratyahara has already taken place – that means you can withdraw your mind from all your senses and body; and that simply tells us that yogic’s going into suspended animation has been achieved. And then the power of taking strongest of the strong decision comes – because the mind becomes very powerful, and only a powerful mind is able to take the very powerful decision. Then – dhyana happens.
Samadhi is just next step from dhyana. But meditation is the very different word – because you can meditate on any problem or any worldly thing. I think – it is just thinking and pondering state of mind as it is been called meditation. Dhyana is an achievement with the very heavy practice of yoga.
I would like to add here that dhyana is the Sanskrit word: I will give you some similar words. Plane is called vayu-yan – who takes you in the air; spaceship is called antarikshi-yan – which takes you into space; and the ship, which goes into water is called jala-yan. Dhyana means the ship of your superintellect, on which your mind rise and goes to the core of all things.
It maybe the literal meaning of the word dhyana. In Gita it is written: by riding the dhyana the mind goes there and the yogi sees face to face. So dhyana is the very high thing; and instead of arguing of “we should meditate” we should try to achieve the state of dhyana by working very hard in your practice of yoga. The most excellent, absolute good quality practice will give you this result. You have my best wishes!
There are many Sanskrit words and many people are pronounce them in different way; and they maybe right – I have nothing against it. Like pragya – the special intellect, which yoga practice develops. But many people pronounce it like prajna. If you’ll try to write it in English transcription – you will have pregna, which means reproduction. It will be absolutely different meaning in this. We have to be very careful: what is been said and what is been understood and how it is been spelling. So be careful. Instead of developing of pragya you will develop pregna – not a good thing to do it.
The capacity of taking the strongest of decision – before dhyana.

SECRET OF AWAKENING OF THE KUNDALINI
Dharm, Arth, Kam, Moksh and money — the four Purusharthas
DHARM ARTH KAM MOKSH AND MONEY.
Well, we discussed that making money is activating your Muladhara chakra. Mula! Now the question has come about four accomplishments, four Purusharth
in Hinduism. DHARM ARTH KAM AND MOKSH. So, let discuss it!
This is the sequence :DHARM ARTH KAM AND MOKSH.
DHARMA - dharaye sa dharma!
Means in English - which carries you through. What carries you through? Your career carries you through. Ok?! So when you are actually able to have a successful career or like you are observing your DHARMA to the tee.
The next thing will come: ARTH. ARTH means MONEY. If your career is good, money will come to you. As much as you want!
After money comes - KAM. Means when you have enough money, KAM means desires. If you have enough money you will be in the position to fulfil most of your desires. That is KAM!
Then the fourth accomplishment or the fourth
Purusharth. MOKSH comes. When most of your desires are fulfilled, only liberations remains.
Think on that!
You have my best wishes!

Hamsa and paramahamsa — spirit and the spirit of your spirit
they are saying that when the person achieves Samadhi – he becomes paramahamsa or avadhuta – on what it depends?
Guruji: very simple logic from my sight. In yogic parampara there is very simple knowledge. Now so many paramahamsas are roaming around the world – so I think it is the right time now to make a comment on that.
There are two basic stages: hamsa and paramahamsa. Hamsa is the name of your breathe, your life force, your prana, your spirit is hamsa.
When the person becomes aware and becomes friendly with his spirit – he is called hamsa. And paramahamsa is the Ishwar, or paramatma or something, who is the superspirit, the spirit of your spirit. When you become aware and see that power which is called paramatma face to face – then only the person is called paramahamsa.
It is not connected with swan – because hamsa means swan also. Many people is trying to say that the swan, when it drinks water and milk – it drinks only milk and leaves water. So you should have enough discrimination of your mind and actually decipher - what is good or bad; ok, it may be.
But from yogic tradition hamsa is your spirit, paramahamsa is paramatma – the spirit of your spirit; so when you’re aware and knowing your spirit – you’re called hamsa. When you’re face to face with superspirit, spirit of your spirit, paramatma – then you can be called truly paramahamsa.

Then kama – means all your desires will be fulfilled: if you have enough money – most of your desires will be fulfilled. Then moksha – retirement; or when all your desires are fulfilled – only liberation remains. It’s sequence. Career carries you and brings enough money also. To be comfortable you need enough money.

Yamaraj and dharma as carrier
if Yamaraj is on vacation or holidays now – dharma also not exists?
Guruji: we have seen very big changes now. Very big changes on the other side. Actually the word dharma is translated as “ religion”, which is a very wrong translation. Literally dharma means “carrier”, which carries you. Not a “duty”. But you have accept certain duties in your career. That’s why so much avatars kills lot of people – so Yamaraj’s career is continue( smiling). It support him.

The Three Gunas - dictation on their true meaning
The Three Gunas - Sattva, Raja and Tama
[Triguna - the three Gunas - inherent qualities or attributes in which the nature of all things is said to be limited: Sattva (commonly interpreted as purity, goodness, truth), Raja (interpreted as activity, passion, desire) and Tama (ignorance, darkness, inertia). This a dictation from Guruji about thetrue meaning of the three gunas.]
"To be mukta (liberated), you need to be a little un-mukta (free spirited)..."
"Creation begins in raja and tama gunas. The process of birth involves a union of sperm and ovum. In this union, only that sperm succeeds which lasts longer and is more powerful than other sperms. After the sperm unites with ovum and embryo development begins, the sperm becomes inert, or in other words, attains peace after its union with ovum, and all around it a new personality is created by raja (female menstrual blood). After its complete transformation, the sperm re-appears taking birth from the womb of its mother, borrowing the form of its father and/or mother. Without a complete transformation of its being, a sperm can never expect to learn about its creator. All living forms we see on earth are only transformations of sperms, the change which was made possible only after submitting to the raja-guna.
"The next step of development which is to establish in sattva-guna, will start when we unite ourselves with Mother Earth. Thus completely transformed by the grace of Mother Earth, our form will be in the likeness of One Who manifests everything, and we'll be introduced to our Creator through the grace of Mother Earth. That will be the pinnacle of sattva-guna.
"The state of the sperm before it meets ovum is tama, because it exists in the darkness of ignorance, without knowing who it is or the purpose of its existence. After its union with ovum and its transformation by raja, it is established in raja-guna. All living beings on earth are thus limited only in raja-guna. Only after their final unification with Goddess Earth, they would be established insattva-guna. This unification with Mother Earth is the final transformation, only after which a being could be considered eligible to know their Ultimate Father, or the Creator. Thus born, their nature would transcend all the three gunas and they would be called trigun-atita - beyond all three gunasincluding sattva guna, the state which is also known as Turiya state, or the fourth state. This is the real secret of the three gunas!
"At sperm level, everybody is limited in tama. After birth , they are said to be established in raja-guna because they are at least able to see their mother and father. After we unify with Mother Earth, then we'll get to know our real Father - God or Creator and are introduced to Him. Not before that.
"This is why I find the popular rendition of the three gunas totally ridiculous. One who likes to eat meat is called tama-guni, if you prefer spicy food than you are raja-guni and if you like milk-pudding than you are situated in sattva-guna, and if you crave for samosas (a spicy snack) again, you are back to raja-guna! Can you imagine the taste preference to be the basis for the three gunas!"

WE HAVE FEELINGS BECAUSE WE’RE HUMAN BEINGS
Samskaras, the Gita, and the meaning of sadhu
for me Kriya yoga is the new thing…
Guruji: it’s not a new thing, it’s difficult thing. All your old samskaras are hindering you. That’s the problem, but only you can solve it out.
unlearning something?
Guruji: not unlearn, you just need how to grow that. We don’t want you to unlearning everything. Again this categorization that devotion is different and yoga is different – that is again confusion, created by so-called saints. Our book is Gita, which came out directly from Krishna, he’s describing bhakti and yoga there – what is the problem in accepting it? You just need to grow out of your stereotypes. Any time I will give more credit to the words, which came directly from Shri Krishna, then to some so-called saints and interpretations in different way. The original things are recorded. For any true devotee I think it’s enough.
it will be betraying of one tradition for another…
Guruji: where is betraying? Or maybe tradition is betraying you? You need to open up your mind and develop it – so you begin to see. Quietly keep practicing on the best of your abilities and let it happen. We’re not going out to prove they’re wrong – they ‘re trying to prove, we’re wrong. That is their problem. If the person is the genuine devotee - he should not be full of ego that I’m the only best thing god’s slave; if the genuine devotee is there – in my opinion, he will be the best of the best human being. This is what I believe. But if some egoistic maniac will come and prove that he’s superior because he is a member of a certain cult and he’s devoted to a certain god – I don’t want to talk with that person. This is what I’m saying for last 25 years. Human beings are amazing: you’re amazed every moment they doing something: oh, they’re capable to even this.
Sadhu means a very good man; sadhu present means – who wear the particular uniform and is member of a cult: that is another misunderstanding, which is propagated. In the early puranas they were saying: when somebody will do something very difficult – sadhu he was called; like “ wow, what has he done! ”. That means, sadhu is a person, who is doing things, which are appreciated. Not he’s wearing particular color robes and he’s dresses in particular way or he changed his name to some das or some other – it’s all new things.
so basically it was associated with some good person?
Guruji: yes, the main problem is to find them. And even if somebody is found – ego is always in between. A person is not listening of a sadhu or a nice man; they are making them listen to what they are learn – that communication should be established. Sadhu means “praised”, who is praised worthy, - this is the real meaning. It was considered praised worthy when they devote their life in tapas – so they begin to called sadhus.
so sadhu and sadhana are going together?
Guruji: yes, who is trying to perfect something. Only sadhak can be sadhu. Sadhu is who has perfected his sadhana. Main thing is to develop the understanding, see through.

Wisdom, illness and humour
Meaning of the word 'soul' — jiv/jiva, bound in death, giving up your soul
MEANING OF THE WORLD “SOUL”
What is the difference between “jiv” and “jiva”?
Guruji: “jiv” is the real pronunciation but when they write in English it becomes “jiva”. Like Ram became Rama, Krishn became Krishna, “pran” became “prana” – like this.
Breathe is jiv?
Guruji: It can be called that also.
I will give you one example: when you take a drop from the ocean – it’s just a drop of water. But in the ocean – it is ocean.
You need to go to the root of the word “soul”: it is from german origin and it means “which is bound in death” – that brings us to an interesting observation, that your physical body is bound in death; and a spirit is beyond that.
In the shlok where it is said that “pavan is the jiv of the mind “ it means that pavan is the body of the mind?
Guruji: Jiva- the soul: the spirit of the mind. It must be not the soul but the spirit. When you give up your soul – what is given?
When you give up your body?
Guruji: N o. When you join any certain religion – you’re giving up your soul to a certain god or devil, whatever. That means you’ve agreed to allow things to be done with your body after your death. That is a different ability: that is giving up your soul.
…maybe the combination of 5 elements in your physical body is soul: because the root, meaning of the word “soul” – “which is bound in death”. Physical body is bound in death, the spirit is beyond that. Also you can call the main purpose of your life as your soul. You can go on elaborating on this – it’s a very deep word. But we should always start from the basic root.

“KUMBHAK” MEANS A POT
Bhed as secret; self-observation and solitude
“BHED” MEANS A SECRET
“Bhed” also means a secret: so you can translate hridaya granthi bhed like a great mystery of hridaya granthi. “ bhedi” means to pierce something. Bhed is mystery, bhedi is to pierce or to brake – and bhediya is a spy. It’s much easy to discuss philosophy and devotion to god – but such things are very complicated and highly mysterious.
Yoga practice gives you situation that you’re in position to observe yourself. You can call itself ego or call it any name – but your mind will develop to that level that you will be observing yourself. The general person usually look outside, never look at themselves. Only when they are look on themselves in a mirror – they are aware of their existence.
But as a yogi you will be looking at yourself every direction; put inside your mind, inside your heart, inside your body also – otherwise how you will realize yourself? You’re watching yourself. So many levels and mysteries are hiding inside. It will be very different experience.
That’s why people can’t tolerate to be solitude – they wants to be with someone else. They don’t like their own company. For you it maybe no problem – it’s for a general person: they cannot tolerate be alone.

Ahamkara, asmita and false ego
AHAMKARA AND ASMITA
in the yogic texts are used two terms: ahamkara and asmita – they are one and the same or different?
Guruji: ahamkara is the feeling of being – that I exist, I am. Asmita is how other people will recognize you and how you recognize yourself. I am Shailendra Sharma – this is our asmita. But “I am” is much more deeper than that. It is beyond asmita.
asmita is like false ego?
Guruji: like identity. Not false – just an identity. Your name, nationality even you’re a human – ahamkara is the feeling of being and it’s much deeper than that.
what is false ego then?
Guruji: I’m the great man, I’m rich or I’m poor – that is false ego.
but if I’m really great man?
Guruji: then others will recognize you, you don’t have to clime it: you idiots, I’m a great man.
Give others the chance to recognize your greatness.

So by all manner we should keep the secrets of yoga. By this practice yogi gets accomplished in achievement in khechari. Here some people translate khechari as “flying in the sky”. Beneath; char means to move in the sky. But if you go back refer to Hatha Yoga Pradipika – they are simply describing your mind enters into the void. And your tongue also moves into the void inside there khechari mudra is established. By constant practice of this khechari, in my opinion, you will achieve the union with the consciousness of the void. From there the different knowledge will begin. You will go beyond the limitations of the body. Only by khechari it is possible.
Q: in 7th shloka is said that after study you must very carefully go to the practice. Why very carefully?
Guruji: you see, this is the power of practice; if something goes wrong or if somebody is not experienced – if somebody just telling you something and you start practice;- anything can goes wrong. You have to be very careful, because you directly dealing with your consciousness, your mind, your life essence – we have to be careful.

7th shloka is very good: when you are established in the consciousness of the void – all gods will bow in front of you. Khechar means the name of the gods, but not only gods – every thing, which can fly, who can move in the sky. Here gods is devata.

Rare find om.guruji.com.ua/pages/Isha-upanishad.html — live page saved 28 Oct 2026. Page undated.
Q: what is the difference between the conscious of the void and conscious of the Earth?
Guruji: you have to remember that even somebody is carrying Earth herself. Void is the carrier of Earth herself. And time is the carrier of the void. And the time is carrier itself. In hindi time is called “samai”. Look at the word “sa” – it is one of the names of Shiva. Samadhi is the one of big stepping stones in yoga. Read the Yoga Darshan, the third chapter – they are giving different modes of Samadhi.
Q: it exists some explanation or description of the Time?
Guruji: looking at the word “samai”: it means time, opportunity, chance, right time, tradition, hypothesis; theory, established by some knowledgeable people, death, order, very heavy subject, symbol, boundary, end, success, end of all sorrow – these are the synonyms of samai. And the word “kal”: black, deep, very blue color, iron, a kind of Earth, death, the great time, planet Saturn, Shiva, Vishnu, people of the (?), destiny – this is “kal”.

TWILIGHT LANGUAGE – Guruji Darshan
TWILIGHT LANGUAGE – Guruji Darshan
Foreword by Shailendra Sharma
I hope that by reading this book people will realize that spirituality does not depend on any faith or religious devotion.
The true spirituality is a state of ever-wandering spirit, eager to question and receive essential knowledge and to move further. Even after crossing the threshold of immortality Gorakshanath continues to search for answers.
This intense dialog between a Guru and a disciple should be read by everyone who aspires to travel the path of yoga. Another work, comparable in the magnitude of direct knowledge communicated by a teacher to his disciple, is Tripura Rahasya, where Parashurama converses with Dattatreya. Gorakh Bodh is a hard core practical discussion, far from philosophical disputes. It states what can be done and achieved because it had been done and had been achieved by the conversing yogis themselves.
The purpose of riddles and paradoxes presented in the text is to convey mystical knowledge only to the true seekers. The Naths have always been a secret order and full access to the teaching could be gained only after years of vigorous practice under the guidance (and with the blessing) of a true Guru. While recording these commentaries, I was asked about the repetitiveness of the questions: why does Gorakshanath, already an immortal yogi, continue to place seemingly similar inquiries?
This text was left for us, the descendants, out of mercy and by the grace of these great teachers, who knew that children learn best through repetitions.
By reaching immortality, these great adepts had obtained a luxury of unlimited time to examine every step of the path which took them there. Some of the shlokas are left without comments: words of the masters carry a direct message to experienced yogis who will grasp its sense without additional explanation. Every Hindi word in the text of Gorakh Bodh gives a certain flavor to every particular question and answer, enriching and deepening their meaning.
The twilight language itself is a powerful and valuable “commodity” alluding to the secrets of immortality and divine life. Immortal beings are considered to be capable of creating future for themselves and may partake the future of some mortals, imbedding it in the ornament of their own fate.
May this book become an inspiration for those who truly believe in the possibility of shaping an extraordinary future for themselves.
The very meaning of immortality could be summed up as follows:
Transformation of the future into past is Life.
Absolute transformation of the future into past is Death.
Unlimited future is immortality…
