Kutastha: the light and its colours

COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR OWN SPIRIT

many disciples tell about different colours of kutastha they see – but I have no such experience?

Guruji: it will come: it’s the play of your spirit.

it depends on people – different people see different colours?

Guruji: no, it depends on a spirit’s mood. One person can see it in different colours. Depends on how your spirit is feeling. Main suggestion is: just look at it, don’t react. Because the moment you will react, the mental state in which it is appearing will be disturbed.

what to do, if it doesn’t come at all?

Guruji: that’s its will! Don’t react. Now you know: simply pressing the eyes will not make it appear.

that colours have special meanings? For example, green colour means some kind of mood?

Guruji: no parallel. Until unless it started to talk you cannot draw any idea.

so for me green colour and for him green colour may mean the different?

Guruji: it depends on the mood, yes. Until unless he opens up– we cannot discover.

When we say “romance” or “romantic things” people usually take it in a different way. But the word “romance” is very deep and mysterious word. In English dictionary – very high creative imagination is called “romance”. So, my take on that is as a yogi: if you will do good karma – you will get good results; if you will do bad karma – you will get bad results. As a yogi, my suggestion is: you must do romantic karma- so you will get romantic results. That’s how I think; you also think on that!

COMMUNICATION WITH KUTASTHA

what is the reason of coming different colors in kutastha?

Guruji: five elements is you; whichever element is much more cleaner and more powerful – that color may come. but not necessary: color maybe appear because of something else. It might be a spiritual color as well.

what color is considered as spiritual?

Guruji: so many – more than seven.

Shiva is the light and Shakti is dark: if the light is not coming – what does it mean?

Guruji: that means Shakti is more prominent in that moment.

if you see just golden field with mall dot in the center?

Guruji: that is good. All these are good things.

if you can see only in one eye?

Guruji: different work of hemispheres.

how to understand – which colors is connected with my elements and which are spiritual?

Guruji: there is a list in some yogic books about it. Mostly it is connected with svara yoga. In svarodaya you can find some hints.

they are talking about shapes of the figures…?

Guruji: colors also. Now I’m even not go through practice – kutastha is always with me. It is a sign of opened sushumna.

but it’s always golden, not changing colors?

Guruji: no, it will change colors according to the time and situation – but it will always be there. With communication it will also change so many colors – because it will not speak to you in Russian or Ukrainian or Hindi or Sanskrit. It’s the way of communication.

when we see – we need to say something or think something?

Guruji: no, let it start the communication.

how it will start – it will say something or what?

Guruji: oh, you will know exactly.

it will be scary?

Guruji: no. it can do anything. Let’s wait till then.

is it connected with untying of Hridaya granthi?

Guruji: no, it can start communication at any level.

but khechari is needed?

Guruji: not even: it is kutastha’s decision to start communication. It’s all our preparation – spirit is already prepared.

he or she will teach us, like it’s described in Gorakhbodh?

Guruji: it will take time. He start to communicate when the person is ready, then some teachings come. it’s big qualification thing.

could it happen with the person even not practicing yoga?

Guruji: the decision is from the spirit. Sometimes it happens, very rare. Sometimes some people do something extraordinary, which may start some interest in spirit.

but it must be some other spirits, who trigger the person to do something extraordinary?

Guruji: we all have the spirit inside. If suppose some people creating a situation for you – it is their spirits, who are creating a situation for you; and your spirit will behave to do it. It’s like that. We all have spirits inside: they may start a situation or it maybe just a game – oh, I’m suffering and other things. You don’t know, what immortal spirit can find entertain.

You said that best thing is not to react – just observe?

Guruji: when you’re standing in front of some great creature – giver of life and taker of life- you need to be careful.

but when I think: I must not to react, I must observe – it’s also a thought and reaction?

Guruji: that non-reaction thing will develop slowly. Otherwise some reaction in the mind will always come. so very-very slowly the non-reaction will develop. The thought “I must not react” is also reaction – but it is better than reaction.

state of non-reaction is an achievement?

Guruji: like sahaja avastha.

so you must be ready for anything?

Guruji: No. just don’t react to the situation – it’s the main wisdom.

When your practice is mature enough and good enough, excellent enough – it will remain in front of you continuously.

I was so amazed when it remained after I stopped pressing the eyes!

Guruji: pressing the eyes doesn’t matter for him; because it’s his own will and no matter how much you press- if he doesn’t want to appear – it will not appear. So: keep trying, have patience, and don’t react: if it is not coming – don’t react, keep doing what you’re doing. If it’s coming – be happy, but don’t react. Reaction always changes the mental state.

YONI MUDRA AND KUTASTHA

I have so strong desire to tell you about the experience - and tell it to everybody…

Guruji: nobody will believe. I know, because it is part of our teachings.

but I’m afraid that it maybe some kind of boasting or something?

Guruji: no, calm down. Kutastha literally means “immortal soul”.

should I practice in total darkness?

Guruji: semi-darkness. Because when you’re in total darkness – sometimes accidents happen. You may get up, stumble and fall. Keep the very small light.

They start to be better, their luck becomes better: so when you’re practicing – look at your own hands - and your own luck will become better.

so you can see the spirit, you can not see the spirit –

Guruji: no, it’s not up to you : it’s up to the spirit! Let’s say our lineage has a pact with the spirit, so when we initiate someone – it agrees to appear. Many people – if you just keep pressing your eyes, some light always come; but the spirit will not appear. A word of caution here: most of the near death experiences or life after life – they also have bright light, when they died. So Yoni mudra is a temporary state of death, controlled way: only then the spirit will appear. So do it very carefully.

when I see it in my hands – I feel that it is some kind of blessing; the feeling of happiness comes – that I’m blessed?

Guruji: yes, it’s a blessing! Undoubtedly this feeling will come – more lucky, more fortunate.

but is it the reaction – or it’s normal?

Guruji: you will feel good(smiling)you always feel better when you have seen your immortal essence. Now you know: it’s so beautiful – that’s why god is after it, devil is after it; keep it! It’s yours.

maybe in the everyday life, not in Kriya yoga practice – but maybe some simple technics, which can help in practice?

Guruji: forget about it! You’re much more advanced now.

how this temporary awakening is possible without thousands of samadhis?

Guruji: it’s just appear and disappear. And when it is completely awaken – it will remain permanently in front of you. Kriya yoga is the most mysterious practice. Never seen anything like that.

CONTROL OR FRIENDSHIP

sometimes the feeling came that you’re doing something wrong during practice: it can appears and disappears?

Guruji: then it’s all mind

but if Kutastha is less bright than before?

Guruji: that’s it’s choice. It will test you a lot.

but we have to become friends?

Guruji: so it will test you. Because it’s a big surprise for them that you’re able to see. Nobody see them; then they will test you – to be sure that your intentions are ok. Then maybe some friendship will come.

for friendship it must be constant vision for some years or more?

Guruji: you just need to remain calm- if you can; give no reaction: if it appears – ok, if don’t appears – ok. Then maybe after some more time.

also You write in Gorakhbodh that the attempt to control prana and apana maybe not a very good thing?

Guruji: no one can control them.

but isn’t it exactly what we’re trying to do during practice?

Guruji: no: we’re trying to be friendly with our breath and spirit. As well as friendly with your own body. We take our body for granted.

can You elaborate what is the meaning of control and how it differs from…?

Guruji: control means the relationship of master and slave. Or a king and subject. With friends – it’s friendly things. Please, lift you right hand.( the disciple lifts ).see, in a friendly way I’ve said it – I didn’t said: you, bloody subject, I’m ordering you immediately; then you’ll have the stand against it inside you.

Guruji: that is the difference

what happens with yogi who achieved the state of Alakh Niranjan?

Guruji: he is beyond the gunas and beyond the elements.

it’s unimaginable – how it is possible to be beyond the elements?

Guruji: that’s why I stress: develop your mind!( smiling)

We like to have a certain perception about ourselves. And we say: we are what we are; but I’m saying: whatever you think you are – it is conditioning of your mind, exposure to your family, society, education and everything; until unless you go beyond that conditioning, you will never perceive, who you really are. So: decipher the conditioning and then find out who you are.

is it possible – like in Omkar Kriya – to see somehow how it could be beyond the gunas?

Guruji: in Yoni mudra when you are experiencing the great kutastha – you are beyond the gunas: you’re observing your own spirit. But understanding may take quite a long time to develop.

when we’re in Yoni mudra – maybe it’s some hints about Alakh Niranjan state?

Guruji: yes, the spirit is beyond three gunas. That’s why Kriya yoga is the most mysterious thing. And it will soon go back to jungles. I don’t know why I keep saying this.

KUTASTHA; PURE THOUGHT;

kutastha is our own aura?

Guruji: no, kutastha is the immortal spirit and aura is your own force. Next time I will give you a gift – you can see the aura of anyone. In the beginning I was always seeing, but not now. Privacy must be respected. We all respect the privacy of the yogis.

when I see something inside the dark center in kutastha – what is it?

Guruji: these are slashes of pure thought. Not many people actually experience pure thought. Every thought is covered with certain language, certain words and a scene is attached with it. When you go beyond any language or any scene or vision which is attached with pure thought – then(!) pure thought is experienced.

is it possible to see kutastha in a dream?

Guruji: appearance of kutastha means your sushumna is opening up and some movement of kundalini is taking place – it can be any time. In all practices some things will be seen. That makes Kriya yoga very mysterious. So soon such experiences are beyond imagination. If it’s the beginning – how far you can going? There is no limit.

Because we take birth and we die one day we’re thinking about everything like having beginning and an end. But there are things, which are beginningless and endless. Start thinking from that perspective.

KUTASTHA ( कूतस्थ) - INNER LIGHT

we discussed before that normal sunlight is of gross nature; but if we could see something paranormal – like we see kutastha or we can see some spirits?

Guruji: kutastha is not a reflection of light, it is coming from inside.

but that light which we could see – maybe by the eyes, because it’s in front of them?

Guruji: eyes – we talk grossly; maybe you’re seeing it with the visual centre inside the brain – because physical eyes are closed. It’s a different principle here.

but that light – it has the gross nature?

Guruji: no. it is your jivatma you’re seeing. Because we are so much attached with the light- whatever similarity we see- we begin to analyse it from the point of view of light. It is wrong approach.

and if we see something from the other side – some spirit or some ghost: their light are gross or subtle?

Guruji: it’s absolutely subtle because it is not a reflection.

so any light which is not a reflection…

Guruji: it is something else. It will definitely have a subtle nature.

that shining: it’s the perception of our consciousness – not our senses?

Guruji: no. it is from your subconscious mind. That’s why it takes many-many years just to understand what you’re seeing.

...all the time: so the pupils remain contracted.

because kutastha is always in front?

Guruji: maybe something even beyond that.

we discussed few days back about the immortals – that they could not even have the spirit and be connected directly to the source?

Guruji: they’re directly looking at Ishwar. It's the light of all lights.

Kutastha

on what depends the appearing of Kutastha?

Guruji: only on intensity of the practice. And it has its own consciousness: one day if it will decide that I will not appear – no matter how you will press your eyes, nothing will appeared. Remember, technics are important, but this is something beyond technics. Only thing is by the grace of the lineage of the Gurus it agrees to appear for most of the students, but to retain it – only the very good practice will do it.

Kutastha literally means – immortal soul.

And I think, Babaji was extremely lineal – to allow the technic for a common men. Because common men is born with inferiority complex and they simply can not accept this immortal substance appearing for them. Their mind works different – they think it could be done by simply pressing the eyes. For them, who think that it is just a technic – it disappears and never appears. So we have to be very careful here. Many so-called seekers think that if they were exposed to some yoga teachers or read some books – they know something.

Kriya Yoga is very mysterious thing and you have to believe it: otherwise no big time or deep results are coming. Only with many-many years of practice some understanding actually started.

OPEN THE EYES OF THE MIND

in Gorakhbodh You said that Lucifer, the light bringer, make the people confused – because they could see only part of the picture but not the whole reality?

Guruji: there is another point: not everybody is qualified to see the complete picture. But you will have to learn to see beyond the reflection of the light. We are occurred to see only the reflection of light – which we begin to call our vision we are seeing. But yogis say: you need to learn to see beyond that. Open your mind’s eyes!

that part of the world which is always in shade; could we say that it’s Vasudeva in our heart?

Guruji: he lives in the sealed chamber of pure darkness inside. He doesn’t need light because he is able to see without reflection. Dark or not only matters to us; because our eyes are created in such a way: we perceive only reflection of light. They are higher beings – they don’t need reflection, they can see.

it exists some material objects which has material form and exists in our world but can’t be perceived by our vision?

Guruji: definitely.

what is the real ability of the person to differentiate or to distinguish?

Q: is it possible to hold your breath too long to fell into kutastha?

Guruji: maybe. But then after that even you don’t have to hold your breath, you even don’t have to do Yoni mudra and you can go there. It was the first accident.

….you’re already seeing Atman. I’ve been teaching you for many years and in Yoni mudra you see the kutastha. The black thing appears with the bright light around it. Is it not the miniature form of Earth herself? It is dark inside and atmosphere around it – Earth will look exactly like this from outer space.

… atma means yourself also. It means if you are destroying Earth – you are destroying yourself. Both ways: if you are destroying your body – you are destroying earth at the same time. If you are destroying Earth – you are destroying yourself also. The end of end will be dark, absolute darkness, no knowledge, nothing. And even after that.

The Hindi term for “void” – “shunya” – literally translates as “emptiness” as well as “zero”. Self-void represented by Kutastha appears in the practice of Yoni Mudra. It is a point of self-zero, or self-Shunya, mastered by the practitioner. It is also said that the

appearance of a dark circle with a golden aura around it signals a temporary movement of Kundalini on the verge of awakening.
